To Insanity, or whatever you are... I am not a regular user of any newsgroup but any time I have looked at this one and the AW one over the last few years, it's been Casay that had the info on AccuTrans... NOT YOU.. It was Casay!!! She's the one that has had all the information given to her and shared it with all the users here... She's the one with a direct contact to the programmer of AccuTrans and she's done some very marvleous seqs with it, such as AW has never seen before... YOU, Insanity, I've never even heard of till now and I can tell you, what you are spouting here sounds like a bunch of pitiful rubbish!!! I would appreciate it if YOU would keep your lies and slander to yourself!!! Casay has promoted and supported AccuTrans for as long as I can remember.. I'm not ignorant about Gor.. I read the books many years ago when they first
came out.. They were entertainment, nothing more.. To find that twenty or thirty years down the road people took the stories to heart shocks me... The fact that people now actually try to live that "lifestyle" degrades all humans as human dignity is what we, as humans, have fought for for hundreds of years in hundreds of actual, human cultures. (Yes, Goober King.. Many do their best to "live" as Goreans in their Real World, not just in virtual..) Gor is NOT a human culture. It is NOT a race of people. It is a bunch of misguided, inadequate people that have embraced a fictional, alter-earth story because it appears to offer some kind of emotional crutch they evidently feel they need. As such, it can't be compared to the unreasoned prejudices some people have against actual human races. The "Goreans" need a psycologist or emotional therapist, not some civil rights group. Maybe then truly ignorant, misguided people wouldn't end up stuffed in barrels. To have an AWCI employee tell other users they are ignorant if they are against the Gor lifstyle and if they speak out against Gors throwing it in our faces in other AW worlds, is ignorance on their part. Evil is as evil does and the Gor mind-set is evil. Decent ppl will always be against it. If Gor has to be in AW because AWCI loves money better than morals then at least Gor can keep Gor and the master/slave evilness in their own worlds. I will say the same to anyone. I have a few comments:::
Lots of kids easily lie about being 18+ and quite convincingly too... Will the low-lifes of "gor" worlds even notice clues that someone is not adult before that someone is witness to a "slave" being ordered down on all fours and being publically "taken" by a so-called "master"??? I think not!!! Before you say it's not "really" happening, let me remind you that words have power; written or voiced... Power to influence... Power to harm... Power to degrade... Power to instill beliefs or to take away beliefs.. Power to create lasting visuals... We may not take our avatars into Real Life with us but words and interactions online can and do influence us to an extent even after the computer is turned off -- moreso if you are young and impressionable... I don't feel any decent human beings would even participate in "gor" worlds... Anyone that believes that, or even "plays" that, any part of the human race is sub-human slave material degrades ALL human beings... Period... I don't think "gor" worlds should be allowed to exist in ActiveWorlds... To me, those worlds being allowed here is on the same level that allowing Klu Klux Klan worlds or Nazi/White Supremacist worlds would be... What happened to AWCOM's rules about discrimination??? The low-life "gor" participants discriminate against females or encourage being discriminated against... They say they aren't harming anyone... I say, sure, they aren't harming anyone, any more than the belief that having dark skin makes you sub-human harmed anyone --- and we know how unfair and how very wrong that is and how many generations of blacks and other races suffered because of it and some are still suffering... Six years and still going... :o) This software has been running online for 6 full years now with comparatively little downtime and no end in sight... Seems to me that "they" must be doing SOMETHING right to still be around; don't you agree??? Worlds.inc went bankrupt and it's rumored that they screwed their investors during the process... They are back but the program they run isn't really something I would ever feel "at home" in... (Music CD's, anyone???) The Palace is gone now... It went bankrupt even though it had many, many users... :o( Black Sun has cut it's "area of influence" (or whatever you want to call it) way back now... Worlds Away is now a porn site I hear... There were other VRs that no longer exist and may never be heard from again... ActiveWorlds, however, is still here after 6 good years!!! :o) Way to go, AW!!! none for the ladiesJul 21, 2001, 3:13am

Funny, but I often add a space in text before some punctuations just to
make them stand out better !!! <-- not really a good example... Usually I reserve use of a space at the end of a word or phrase ending in an "L" "i" or a "1" and before an exclaimation point --- but have been known just to follow my own "rules"!!! :o) Do people misunderstand what I'm trying to get across??? Yes, sometimes... but then there are some that have no comprehension at any time... *G* Have I been unclear about what point I'm trying to make simply because some punctuation mark doesn't fit what some would consider to be "standard usage"??? Rarely... And, <--- grammatical no-no --- as I explained to you years ago, I often add 3 punctuation marks at the end of a sentence in chat or on a web page in order to "visually close" the sentence before a reader's eyes go on to the next... We each have our own way of doing things; we each have our own tricks and/or preferences... You do things your way and let Facter and the rest of us do things our way as long as the communication gets to the listener in an understandable manner... Well, good luck, because knowing how little control some ppl have over
themselves, you'll need it... :o) Being as how ActiveWorlds is a benevolent dictatorship (they own the software and they care about it), it's not in the best interest of AWC to allow it's users to rule it... They are running a business not a fan club... I know for a fact that AWC "DOES" listen to users, just not ALL of them ALL of the time... Since many ppl can't see that or believe it, many will continue to stomp their feet and claim that AWC sits in their ivory tower and never hears their voice... People that think that are wrong, but then what else is new??? :o) I do want to offer this encouragement though::: If the meetings can be kept from becoming "I HATE AWC BECAUSE" seminars, you just might get somewhere with them... It's up to the ppl that attend to make them productive to the point where they are worth the time for AWC to spend listening in and possibly acting on things that come out of the meetings -- that is if they are good, viable ideas and not in the works already!!!... *G* *hugs* Daphne P.S. I would not put it past any of our media to add as much fat to the fire as
they can... I gringe every time one of the media jerks asks someone "What do you think we should do about it?" knowing full-well that they will get angry words for an answer since people aren't yet thinking clearly... People are still too hurt and scared and angry to think very far beyond the next few days... All they know is they feel a need to lash out, thinking it might help ease their pain... I'm feeling the same way too at times... :o( CNN, or any of the other media, can't really be trusted to give unbiased news... None of the News magazines do objective reporting now either... About the only thing you MIGHT be able to trust is a newspaper editor or reporter who has actually done the research and looked at a subject from many angles... Even then you must rely a LOT on your own judgement to know whether to believe them or not... Nothing is EVER as black and white as our news media would like us poor sheep to believe...
