There is one sure way to make the downloaders comfortable: Offer the source code :)
I know not all programmers like to do that (I usually do for the sake of trust) but if you don't want to make money with it - this is the secure way to go. Andras P.S.: Epp - don't complain! This is the best security you can have against trojans! Chat LogNov 2, 2001, 3:42pm
There are two p[ossibilities:
1, you managed to crash AW whil it was writing the chatlog - picking up some garbage from the buffer memory 2, you have crosslinked files due to some windows crash (can happen only on FAT filesystem). Remedy: Run chkdsk /f on the disk you have AW HTH, Andras [View Quote] Log program for outgoing telegrams :)Nov 6, 2001, 2:32pm

AW actually sending only the changes - not the full list :)
Andras <quote from SDK> Applications can use aw_world_list to query the universe server for a list of all worlds running in the universe. Previously (before build 20), the entire list would be returned in response to a single call to aw_world_list. However, that mechanism could not handle a list of more than 750 worlds. Since the number of worlds in the main AW universe is now well over 750, this mechanism has been changed beginning in build 20. It now may require more than one call to aw_world_list in order to get the complete list of worlds. Furthermore, subsequent calls to aw_world_list will only return the changes since the previous call; the entire list is only returned once per login session, on the first call or series of calls. </quote> 5th Annual EggHunt in Storage!Mar 23, 2002, 7:18pm

There is a slight difference between you and me. I accepted DM's apology and I think he'll be a much better adult going through this ordeal than one ever can be. We are not GOD here and not the authorities to prosecute a juvenile, who's intention was clear and simple: he wanted publicity and appretiation (you would say he asked $$$ for the data - IMO it still fall into the "publicity" category - I doubt he actually wanted to make a living from it). In my book it can be handled much better than to call the FBI or the police on him. The way you handle the situation just destroys all effort the other people invest into discipline DM. I don't know when were you a child or have you have children but I still remember to those times and I have 3 children, who learn much more from a properly placed barriers and hars words than from calling the police on them. I can tell tho that you are living in the US where even a child can sue his/her parent if they use a "strong" discipline on them (see "slamming" or something like that) - a country which has more lawyers then doctors :(. There are a few of us in this NG who try to handle the situation in a humanly way and a few who are acting like a lonely frustrated adult who never had a child.
How do you think a young person can learn if not by try and fail? Isn't it the way the evolution goes? Sure thing - there are laws everyone has to abide <sp?>, but we have to teach the young generation to those laws and not with "shoot first, ask later" method :( I strongly ask you to withdraw your suit (if it even started) and act like a parent, not as a burocrat! That is the weak people's tool! Why don't you offer some education to him instead on international copyright law? You supposed to be the "pro" in this topic in this newsgroup. As my last words: yes it takes me some time to repair the damage. Yes it takes some time to write some tools to make such action not easy to happen, but I accept the fact that the browser is not "thief proof" and I act according to that. Maybe I'm idealist, maybe I'm wrong but I have 3 children who grew up with those principles and I doubt you'll find any flaw in them <except they hate to do the dishes>. Hi,
Multizip 4.5 new feature: Unzip with the old and rezip with the new password! A single step zip -> zip conversion where you can specify the old and the new passwords. Andras http://andras.net/tools.html Multizip 4.5Apr 2, 2002, 4:55am

Sorry folks - I have a nice bug in this version - it renames the file within the archive to unzipwk.$$$ . Fix will come soon!
Andras Multizip 4.5Apr 2, 2002, 7:33am
- V4.6
New Feature: - One can rezip the files with different password. Select RezipWithNewPW, provide the original and the new password. The program unzips the file to the TEMP folder and rezips into the target folder. If the rezipping fails, it leaves the unzipped file in your TEMP folder for recovery. BugFix: - V4.5 renamed the file within the archive to unzipwk.$$$ - now it is fixed. The filename within the archive will be either the source filename with the extension the user provides or the source file name with the extension within the archive. - V4.5 - Don't use! One more correction - COF WAS incorporated but was NOT a PUBLIC company (i.e. was not traded on the stock market). This whole trick is needed to be listed on the stockmarket.

There should be an "Fn" or similar key and on the keyboard around the "k" key you'll see some grey or blue small print on the lower right corner. Those keys together replace the numeric keypad on the laptops.
HTH, Andras New Cy Pages!!!!!Apr 27, 2002, 4:45pm
I know I don't count since my web design is worse than anyone else but I have to agree with 83058 <wink:)> that the color scheme is not good. I can't read a SINGLE WORD on that page! I mean the one with blue color with black bg. I'm red-blind, so it can be purple or red but ... there are several ppl who can't read it. I'm not alone :)
Would someone consider us - color-handicapped - as a visitors of those websites? - then please do something about that . Thanks, Andras [View Quote] Come the TheBeans world a new public building World which is really cool it isn't another A1CT cloneApr 27, 2002, 4:47pm

TerraFormer is replaced (substituted) by Dem2RWX ( http://andras.net/modular.html ) which does a lot for terrains. I just finished adding the new terrain feature to it and the program will be released to the public after I clean up the mess I made.
