That is a well known limitation of AW and it exists in 3.6 too. I don't remember to the explanation but something has to be done with the rendering speed versus quality.
Took me about a week of work to find that the (then) newly added tbtree models (by tunablues and dreamer2) are OK, just the rendering can not be done properly.
You can check it out: tbtree001.rwx and it uses jpg and bmp for mask.

[View Quote] [View Quote] Additions:
1, Extract both zip into one folder.
2, RWXMod can use only bitmap textures, and it is looking for the path../textures folder first (you can configure where to look for them), so all jpg textures should be tconverted to bitmap format.

Advantage of using RWXMod is that if your rwx file can be rendered with it, then AWI should render it too :)

Another excellen too is Accutrans (not free but very good).

scavenger hunt

Jun 16, 2006, 5:36pm
Thanks for the prompt response.

What does it mean in laymen terms:

You have a single regular bot at GZ.
It can see the objects within the 400x400m square.
With the new settings it can see the avatars only at a 200m radius sphere.
So: if the avatar stands at 15N 15W, the bot will not see it and will not receive any click notification the avatar made.

This is not a bug ...

[View Quote] > The visible radius of avatars and bots in world has changed in 4.1. It is

Citizenship Resolved (something new!)

Jul 10, 2006, 3:52am
<snip bloated list>
> Can consider that the proof that they are artificially increasing account
> numbers.
>

<rant>
Another example why I have trouble with your attitude.
Such a narrow minded person you are :)
</rant>

<explanation>
Every citizen creation action generates a new citizen number which is an incremented value (auto_increment type of variable in MySQL)
When a citizen number is deleted, the sequence is not changed, the new citnum will be greater than the last one by one.
There is a way of course to reassign the deleted citnum but why bother?
Example:
In AWEurope we have a web/bot/telco based citizen creation where one can use SMS (cell phone text messaging for folks in the US:) to get a new citizenship or renew it for 3,4,9 and 30 days.
(Very handy for those whose phone bill payed by their parents and has no credit card :) )
The script reserves the citizen number when the request comes in (creates a temporary citizenship) and finalizes it only after the payed SMS received.
In case of not confirmed request, this temporary citizenship is deleted leaving a hole within the citnum list.
</explanation>

Why on earth would AWI artificially inflate the cit number base?

AW texture/misc cache ras format viewer / recover lost textures from your OP.

Nothing can prevent a thief to download the textures from the OP directly - they have the OP and the texture name in their cache anyway :(

As Mauz stated - putting the texturemodes foreshorted explicitly removes all the default modes.

Use AddTextureMode Foreshorted though it is not supported any longer :)

I did not plan to create this tool to help the thieves but to help the community. I never released a cache to rwx program :)
Unfortunately the textures can be downloaded by anyone having access to a browser and having the cache directory in hand.
I would like to see some kind of obfuscation of the OP in the cache but that is a long shot (and the thieves can figure it out just like they do it now)

Several attempt I made to hide the OP behind some php script failed due to some silly firewalls (Norton comes to my mind at this moment) which thinks passing referer is a bad thing :(
The original MultiPath script was checking not only the Agent but the referer, so only the AW browser is allowed to get the content of the OP.

Let me warn you about a few things:
1, Never open an email you are not sure about the sender.
2, Never use an email client which displays the email in those fancy form (called HTML <eg>)
3, Be aware that the sender can be infected by a virus which gets the email addresses harvested from his/her Address Book and those mails are claim they are from known source.

I do have my mail server which helps to weed out the bad plants but even that is not enough sometimes.
Always use "text only" emails and never use HTML. Never open ANY attachments you are not expecting to get!
Disappearing picture folders is a sure sign of a virus which can reach your machine only if you did not take the precautions above (and that list is really very short!!!)
Use a client side spam filter (POPFile <http://popfile.sourceforge.net/> or K9 <http://keir.net/k9.html> are good choices, I use them for all my email clients - and they are free), use a firewall which marks/removes attachments which are dangerous (I can go on for hundreds of lines to give more advices but I stop here)
