.ras to .bmp tool (Community)
.ras to .bmp tool // CommunityshalimarJul 31, 2006, 5:30pm
Is anyone using the new ras to bmp tool Andras made? It seems to be working
until I get to the "double click image to save" part. I have double clicked my finger off and nothing happens! Could someone please give 5 or 6 brief steps as to how to use this tool? Thanx mauzJul 31, 2006, 6:47pm

Dunno, when I open a ras file and then doubleclick the picture,
a Save As window pops up where I can choose to save it as either bmp, ico, emf or wmf file, into which folder I want. Could it be a bug with some systems? I have XP SP2 with the latest patches. (http://www.andras.net/tools/ras2bmp.zip) -- Mauz http://mauz.info equin0xAug 1, 2006, 4:53am
A .ras to .bmp tool!? Damn.. Now I need to take an extra security measure to
protect models and textures! [View Quote] equin0xAug 2, 2006, 4:49am

I never released a cache to rwx program :) Unfortunately the textures can be downloaded by anyone having access to a browser and having the cache directory in hand. I would like to see some kind of obfuscation of the OP in the cache but that is a long shot (and the thieves can figure it out just like they do it now) Several attempt I made to hide the OP behind some php script failed due to some silly firewalls (Norton comes to my mind at this moment) which thinks passing referer is a bad thing :( The original MultiPath script was checking not only the Agent but the referer, so only the AW browser is allowed to get the content of the OP. -- Andras "It's MY computer" (tm Steve Gibson) equin0xAug 2, 2006, 10:27am
Yeah, don't get me wrong.. I'm not giving your program negative feedback. I
believe you did very well and that it will help the community a lot. I was just messing around. And yeah, textures will never be safe really. [View Quote] |
