http://grimmsoft.com/aw/sdk/ is the VB SDK, you need to know basic VB to
make a functioning bot, but to make something a bit more advanced, you need to know a bit more advanced VB... KAH [View Quote] Paintball ScriptJan 6, 2002, 3:00pm
ok, so you had login problems, but try and put as much as you can in one
single post instead of replying 10 times to yourself, it floods the NG a bit ;-)) KAH [View Quote] AW Visual Basic SDK questionJan 10, 2002, 4:03pm
I assume your problem is defining the universe, this is how you do it:
sdk.AwCreate(unihost, uniport) unihost is a string containing the hostname of the server where the UniServer runs (example: auth.activeworlds.com for AW), uniport is a long (number) containing the port on which the UniServer listens (for AW it's 0, most probably different for DLP). KAH PS. if you need a complete project, contact me and I'll send you one of mine :-)) [View Quote] mIRC bot !Feb 15, 2002, 11:34am
I think I'll take the wraps off my latest project... my aPhoneBot, it has
many cool features, and it's currently got the IRC protocol implemented, relays chat between the IRC channel and AW place(s)... It's basically ready, just need to polish it a bit... planning on really making it break down the barrier of different protocols, and implement other of the popular protocols for chat/IM. KAH [View Quote] aPhoneBotFeb 16, 2002, 4:13pm
Hi all, I just released my newest bot, the aPhoneBot (advanced PhoneBot).
It's a pretty advanced chat relaying bot, it can relay chat between up to 15 places in AW environments (it's transuniversal!). Also, it can relay chat between AW and an IRC channel! I'm planning to add support for ICQ and other popular chat protocols soon. Check it out now, http://home.no.net/kahbot/aphone.php The site is complete with a bug reporting feature :-)) KAH aPhoneBotFeb 18, 2002, 11:41am
because of Microsoft's stupidity, the installer actually installed v 1.0
(outdated alpha version) and not 1.2... I fixed it yesterday, so if you downloaded before 22:00 CET (21:00 GMT, 19:00 VRT), please redownload it now. I'm really sorry lol KAH [View Quote] Offline Bot TestingFeb 27, 2002, 4:17pm
you could probably do a Hello world, but not a bot without having to do SOME
debuging... I think you need to resize your ego to something a bit smaller. I think it sounds like a good idea, and if it hadn't been for the AW protocol being closed and encrypted it would be possible to create some sort of emulator. KAH [View Quote] Multi - Universe capability of RelayerFeb 27, 2002, 4:17pm
aaah, why does somebody else always do the same thing as me at the same
time? lol, my bot does the exact same thing, with the addition of IRC relaying and I've got plans to implement things like AIM and ICQ into it... KAH [View Quote] New bot by TacoguyMar 7, 2002, 3:55pm
the really good ones haven't really be cracked yet. The binary encryption
algorythms work pretty well, the only thing is how do you hide the key for the encryption, because if you hardcode it it can be found, and it will be pretty hard to achieve anything else if others are gonna be able to decrypt it. KAH [View Quote] astart/astop/adoneMar 9, 2002, 1:38pm
you should allways make installers for your VB projects because of just

project (best I could do heh)Apr 6, 2002, 2:21pm
Hi, I'm thinking of starting a project relating to bots and bot programming:
in short, the Planet Source Code concept, for AW bots/utilities. If you don't know Planet Source Code, the concept is that users submit source code to a source code library where other programmers can get the code freely. Many find it very usefull for learning, and I think it would be nice to do something similar for AW. What do you all think? and are some of you interested in helping out creating it? please reply to this post or emial me [kah at kahnews.cjb.net] :-)) KAH PS. please don't flame me for crossposting, this seems relevant to both groups ;-)) Tips for those wanting to make RPGsApr 8, 2002, 3:28pm
it IS possible to do a completely bot free RPG you know ;-)) maybe not
multiplayer with all sorts of fancy stats and saving features, but a fun RPG can be done solely with building commands... KAH [View Quote] Brant's paintball bot is full of errorsMay 5, 2002, 9:22am
Look, before you continue posting, learn how to post correctly! this is NOT
related to the sdk and community groups, only the bots group. And this is an issue you should contact Brant himself about, we don't really care about your rants about bots. And obviously you aren't very familiar with how AW works it seems, neither about some general things about bots and software in general (don't expect a beta to work like a release). Please don't crosspost if it isn't REALLY necessary, and if you REALLY want to post a rant, do so in general.discussion. KAH [View Quote] Bot request.May 11, 2002, 11:42am

I've had my bot ejected from AW GZ a few times because of forgetting to multiply coords, etc, while I've been in AW. I've never been kicked out, but I haven't really tested going out then back in, so I guess it would happen. KAH Idea for Bots.May 30, 2002, 2:23pm

I guess you COULD do this, but I don't support taking over control of other apps, maybe you should consider running your bots on a different machine (use it as bot server). So some1 > plz help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A Xelagot script *MIGHT* be able to do this (I'm not very familiar with them, so I don't know for sure), but you might need a custom bot. Collision detection (what determines if you bump into something or someone in the 3D scene) is client-side (the browser does it without telling the server), so the bot does not receive any event when it happens, but it does receive the position of people within range, so if your bot has the dimensions of all objects and has queried the area so it knows where the objects are, it would have to check every time someone moves if they coincide with an object. Try making a simple check with Xelagot first. KAH Worldserver(?) bug with global mode + invisible botsJun 17, 2002, 3:20pm

Hi, I just wrote a hack (don't worry, it just means it's a version not
written by the original author) to Bowen's terrain elevation bot posted in Worldbuilders earlier which lets you specify the altitude at which you want the bot to set the terrain instead of it being hardcoded. http://kahnews.cjb.net/bots/terrain.zip read readme.txt before running the bot.
