Ejected Bots and Cits (Bots)
Ejected Bots and Cits // BotsgrimbleMay 27, 2002, 10:14am
Can someone tell me if in the past a cit has been banned from AW for the
usual 5 minutes if a bot under that cit's privs strays into AW GZ and gets ejected? It just happened to me and I don't remember that being the case before. Thanks, Grims. grimbleMay 27, 2002, 10:57am

In the past, the cit/bot ejected based on IP address. If you did run the bot on the same machine you were ejected too. With the new server sw the ejection based on IP, CIT# and Computer ID. Any one of them is matching you are ejected - so even a bot running on a diferent machine can cause you to be ejected.

I guess I've never tried the following the bot into AW in the past ... and
already been there when I was dumb enough to let it happen before. Thanks Grims [View Quote] kahMay 27, 2002, 4:29pm

I've had my bot ejected from AW GZ a few times because of forgetting to multiply coords, etc, while I've been in AW. I've never been kicked out, but I haven't really tested going out then back in, so I guess it would happen. KAH strike rapierMay 27, 2002, 8:01pm
if your bot gets booted out, you dont untill you try to enter the world
again (ie: bounce).. darn CA.. lol ananasMay 28, 2002, 2:45am
This is not always the case.
I have at least 2 times ejected bots that were set to "follow" and the owner disappeared too. Maybe it happens when bot and owner are both within the visibility range, or they changed the behaviour in newer world servers. [View Quote] |
