sw chris // User SearchHow they treat customers? (AWI)Mar 8, 2005, 3:52am
Must you post every _single_ personal communique that you receive from AWI
in the newsgroups? I hate to be frank and I'm usually not this teed off, but it's no small wonder that AWI won't have anything to do with the users when it comes to things like world improvement. This stunt was exactly the reason why the last overture backfired. You're not helping your case. Or the greater good. If we can't be adult about human errors like this (which have NO business belonging in these NGs), then there's no point in expecting AWI to include us in any future plans for Alphaworld. Common sense guys. Think beyond the immediate ramifications. [View Quote] How they treat customers? (AWI)Mar 8, 2005, 3:58am
This isn't the first time you folks have completely blown things out of the
water either. You think we're different? Lucasfilm just pulled a similar stunt. http://www.galacticsenate.com/index.php?showtopic=13488 To me this implies not that AWI is incompetent, but that there is a problem between how corporations and their userbases are trying to adapt to the instant feedback mechanism of the Internet. And instant feedback is something that businesses have never in the past had to deal with before. Chris [View Quote] How they treat customers? (AWI)Mar 8, 2005, 4:16pm
How they treat customers? (AWI)Mar 8, 2005, 4:30pm
Here I go with another one of my multilayered messages. This should address
the immediate problem as well as some larger community concerns. Lucasfilm doesn't know how to handle Star Wars websites run by fans. This website scooped them on a photo of George Lucas's cameo character in Episode 3. It was a leaked photograph and so LFL sent a cease and desist order and made the website take down every single episode 3 image on the website. They're completely within their rights to do so, but tons of other SW websites do exactly the same thing, but they did not receive C&D orders. However, that's not the core issue. The root cause of this, which I was pointing out, was that Star Wars fan websites want Lucasfilm to use them in promoting their product. But unfortunately an antogonistic relationship has developed. Rebels vs. the Lucasfilm empire. Happened the same way with Star Trek fans and Paramount. Same with theonering.net and New Line Cinema (except Peter Jackson, a man on the _inside_, paved the way for cooperation between the two and they eventually did develop a decent relationship). I don't know about you, but this sound very familiar to me. Some AW users want AWI to use them to help promote their product and improve their worlds. But an antagonistic relationship has developed. And it will continue to be that way until people stop posting personal correspondance from AWI staff and screaming "Conspiracy!!!" every chance they get. In other words, by posting crap like this, you shoot yourself in the foot. By demanding change via popular uprising, you shoot yourself in the foot. Both 'tactics' as some people would call them are completely ridiculous and have never worked before. Even the use of such a word, 'tactics' screams antagonism. Hey can you clarify that statement please? I'm not sure I understand what
you're asking? Or if I am, I'm not quite sure it's relevant? Chris [View Quote] Complains lolMar 10, 2005, 7:40pm
I'd be happy with your other suggestion about changing the GZ location, plus
deleting the spam around the current GZ. Chris [View Quote] Buyer Beware!Mar 10, 2005, 7:41pm
Whenever I get one of those emails, there's always a chance it may be
legitimate. So instead of clicking on any links in the e-mail, I type in paypal.com in my browser and log in to make sure there actually is something that needs my attention. Chris [View Quote] Ferru and Taun's Hard Work CopiedMar 10, 2005, 10:10pm

Furthermore, you haven't even seen the details yet! Things have changed a
bit since the initial postings in the forum. The committee system is off the drawing board. :) Revolting... my foot. We hope to be able to work with strike sometime in the future. Chris [View Quote] Since AlphaBit Phalpha requested not to receive any moe emailsMar 13, 2005, 5:54pm

:) Thanks for that speech. It's nice to hear.
Bit may not be the most diplomatic person in the world, but I think her heart is in the right place. And that's what counts. Alphaworld servers lately....Mar 29, 2005, 3:53am
Ok folks... who here HASNT had a problem with the servers? Just a random
poll. I'm in the midwest and I'm fine. The only problem I had was one night two or three weeks ago. Chris [View Quote] GO PKs!!Mar 30, 2005, 2:30am
I too have a similar problem. It's an employer who does not like me because
of something that I have not done but that she perceives to be real. I'm finding that the best way to handle this is to do pretty much what you're doing, with the exception of venting about it in a place like the newsgroups where Class 3 can see what you're typing. Not smart for you. :) Your best bet seems to be to go above Class 3's head and talk to a core member who will be sympathetic to your problem. Or have you alienated them too? :P This would be my next move. I would go above my employer's head and appeal to her and ask that person if they had any advice for dealing with the situation without coming off as complaining. If you can't get anywhere and this harassing behavior continues, have a phone call with JP or Enzo. Enzo seems to be looking in on this problem too, so you don't have to worry too much about it. He might help you out as long as you don't make your self look bad. Chris p.s. Turning your privacy function on might help you to also avoid further harassment. I don't think PKs can see through that to tell whether or not you're online. [View Quote] GO PKs!!Mar 30, 2005, 3:38am
He's referring to a certain overly zealous gatekeeper who was rightly
stuffed, tarred, feathered, and hung out to dry because he kept harassing some of us. It's best not to discuss it here. Chris [View Quote] Early end to isolationMar 30, 2005, 3:40am
That's what you get. With the recent school shooting no wonder they're
antsy. I don't feel sorry for you at all. :P Chris [View Quote] Early end to isolationMar 30, 2005, 4:47pm
There is a correlation. That's what it has to do with the school shootings.
But that doesn't mean it's the cause. Chris [View Quote] Tonight! - SW City's 6th Birthday BashApr 1, 2005, 8:14pm

For players who have no idea how to build industry in AW, they are encouraged to explore the nearby industrial areas, as well as teleports to other industrial sectors in SW City.
