Ugh, like so many gamers, I hate hate hate hate EA. They seem to leave a

touch/buy -_-
But, maybe their deep pockets will give renderware big advances; not that
it'll be cheap though knowing them =P

As interesting as that is it doesn't any sense why the government would try
to cover up the details of what hit the Pentagon. Regardless of what hit
it, it's just as bad.
I mean, lets take an example..
"oh my God the president was shot!"
"Ahh nooooooo that's terrible" (just president in general, no Bush comments
pls)
"......oh wait! He was only stabbed in chest"
"oh ok, phew *goes back to work*"
That...wouldn't...be the response O_o
It was an American Airline plane wasn't it? Wouldn't the company, with it's
many involved workers, have something to say about that?

Some well known bedtime stories, changed to be politically correct :P
Little Red Riding Hood:
http://66.102.7.104/search?num=30&hl=en&lr=lang_en&ie=UTF-8&q=cache%3Awww.otherside.net%2Fredhood.htm
Three Little Pigs: http://www.spunk.org/library/humour/sp001556.html
Nursery Rhymes: http://www.re-quest.net/reading/rhymes/
Here's Marry Had a Little Lamb:
Original - Mary had a little lamb. Its fleece was white as snow. Everywhere
that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go.
PC - A young person of the female gender was the possessor of a small
immature ruminant of the species genus Ovis, whose outermost covering
reflected all wavelengths of visible light with a luminosity equal to that
of a mass of naturally occurring microscopically crystalline water.
Regardless of the translational path chosen by the aforesaid young person,
there was a 100% probability that the aforementioned ruminant would select
the same pathway.

That was, umm, very educational. I'll go share my newly acquired knowledge
with friends and family now :P

I wonder how the judges will determine the source of the lag. That is, what
if the building next to you is the cause of the lag?
But judging on lag is so subjective and difficult to "measure" for the
builder, I don't see why it needs to be included. Just going to be nothing
but trouble IMO X_X

Two tips for perforrmance:
1. - If they're going to use astart astop animation to control the textures
on their building, like so many people do, be sure to include a delay in the
refresh. That is, in the begining of the code you'll see the animate me . 1
1 x, where x is the delay. Many people use 0 ( 1 1 0), so all the objects
on the building will refresh their texture as fast as the frame rate, which
can cause significant lag. I recommend a 1 second delay (which is 1 1
1000).
2. - Coronas...when viewing a corona through another corona, you get a big
performance hit. Not much a problem while on the lot, but when you're a
distance away the coronas get bigger and overlap more. I recommend the
contest host to build texture invisible walls along the pathways that run
inbetween the plots. The code would be something like "create texture ___
mask=awd8m,solid no" where ___ can be any texture. The mask is invisible,
so you won't see the wall, but it will block out coronas untill you pass the
wall and walk into the plot, which would prolly look better anyway. I also
recommend placing the objects underground and using move to bring them above
ground so that they don't get in the way of right clicks while building.
Oh and avoiding the use of high resolution pictures can help too.

No, as of...lost track, think as of 2 years ago you can build past the limit
without warning. Before then, the objects were rejected. Now they're
silently rejected, and only rendered on the client. Once you go out of
range, they're gone.

And what if the lines of registry were included with the donation? I know
one case where it was, and it was still ignored.
They've had...*counts it*...32 months now since the last object addition.
Ever crappy old freeware gets updated more frequently than that :P
On top of accepting object donations on a regular basis, they could add
already existing objects that AWI from other worlds that they own (some of
which are either long abandoned or gone),

I think part of the reason AWI doesn't take donations is because they're
afraid of copyright issues...like somebody submitting an object that doesn't
belong to them.

Well AWI has the power to sorta "integrate" demeter into the checking system
the server makes per object, so world size would be irrelevant. However if
they really were going to push to make terrain available to everyone, they
would probably do it without the use of objects that demeter requires.
