Well, he's not connected with Juno from what I read in the article... But I think it said he wrote a book on Internet business ::rolleyes:: :)
I think he'll basically be there to help them run the "company" side of AWCI and not really do anything else.

I have the feeling that a lot of that post was directed at me :)
Goober King clarified what I was trying to say:
"I think what Agent1 is trying to get across to you, Facter, is this:
If you were so busy fixing the problem, then how is it you had time to post a semi-detailed description of the problem here at
AWNews.com, and yet you couldn't put that same information on the Company website? No offense to my fellow AWNews staffers, but I'd
like to think that activeworlds.com is a *tad* more important than AWNews.com..."

Have you ever seen any other company not even care that their main customers are making requests? For years, people have asked for things and they've never been implemented. Usually, it's not a matter of "It'd be to complex" or "We don't have enough time", it's "They won't let us". Of course they own AW, but if they don't listen to the users, how do they expect to improve it in a way that we'll like? If each time the browser got updated, there were one or two user-requested features, everyony would have a lot more confidence in AWCI.

So you really don't care if none of the features users request get implemented? What if, somewhere down the line, you think AW could be made better by a simple feature?
Bodhi: "Hey! I'd like X done... it'd be really cool!"
Roland: "I'd have to pass it by mgmt, but I doubt it."

Encryption won't help anything. The encrypted password goes in the INI file with the username, so that's all you need.

That doesn't solve the bandwidth issue. If it were implemented at server level, it would increase the time it took for a message to be posted. It should be the responsibility of the person posting not to use HTML unless there's a good reason for it.

Just because *you* bought something, doesn't mean that you have to force it onto others. Not every person connected to the Internet uses a high-speed connection. If HTML is so important to communicating the idea, then post a link to a webpage. Newsgroups weren't meant for HTML use, they're for text (and the occasional attachment).
Even if it is possible (don't know that it is), what happens if someone posts something in HTML and is very important, but some readers don't recieve it because they chose not to read HTML messages?
