The method I suggested *is* something that would be easy to do, the only reason it's not is for the reasons mentioned already. So it's not a technical limitation, really. Enzo told me that he was open to suggestions and so I chose custom avatars as a half-joking example.

Another way to help prevent theft is to put all of the files that need to be cached into one large file. The whole thing could be encrypted and have a header with offsets and lengths of the "files" in the package.

That would be an interesting way to do it... then only a number or sequence of numbers would have to be stored. Nice :)

No, that's training the Speech engine. There is a dialog where you can enter words that aren't spoken properly by the TTS engine and change how they're said.

In case you don't remember from the last beta (or weren't on it), here's what to do if you can't post to beta:
1. Change your login password in AW
2. Change the password used to connect to the newsreader to the same password
3. Connect
4. Change password back (if desired) in both AW and newsreader
Congratulations, you can now post to beta (if you're on the list)! :)

It would be your fault for not researching the products this "clock" company sold.
Activeworlds' website clearly states that you get citizenships with a world -- I sincerely doubt they forced you to buy a citizenship before a world.

The way Activeworlds sells their products *is* fair. On the very same website you downloaded the browser from, there is a link to a page called "Products" that outlines WHAT THEY SELL! Wow! What a concept...
Citizenships that come with the world are an added bonus that you don't have to pay for; I don't see the problem in a gift.

This will be my last post on the issue as you are obviously too dense to understand the "premise" of AW's pricing system.
The world costs $80 and includes a GIFT citizenship. Your current citizenship (that you're using to post) cost you $20. If you want to buy a world, you pay the same price as everyone else and recieve the same gift as everyone else. Flagg said he offered to make your citizenship the one that is associated with the world and refund your money that you had already spent on the citizenship. You apparently declined and countered with an insane offer.
Since you won't even except what you're demanding, I think you should just do everyone a favor and shut up about the whole thing.

Uhh... levels in Quake (at least the ones that come packaged with the game) are pre-optimized *extremely*. There's also the fact that ID designed their own engine and can tweak the way they call the 3D API. AW buys their engine from Criterion and therefor doesn't have as much control over the performance.
If you converted a Quake level into AW's "format(s)", it would likely run just as well, as most of the levels aren't extremely detailed -- what's the point if you're running around shooting each other?
