Connect to news.activeworlds.com on port 119. Where in hell did you get that stuff from???? My guess is that you looked
in OE's message cache, which may save stuff in RTF, I don't know. The way to read your message only using OE is to right click it, click "Properties..." from the menu, go to the Source tab and click the "Full source" button. Anyway, if you follow my instructions about how to fetch a news post from the NNTP server directly you'll see that it is indeed HTML. KAH Idiot ReportMay 30, 2002, 2:50pm

As a matter of fact, I have the latest version of my newsreader, and it does support HTML (in a way, it decodes the MIME part containing the HTML message and I have to open it in a web browser to read the message). But HTML is a bad thing on news, it should NEVER be used, if someone REALLY needs to show things with fancy colours, then they give us a link instead. HTML posts do not conform with news standards, which everyone using news should respect. I'm running XNews version L5, I recommend it strongly (get it at http://xnews.newsguy.com) :-)) I called Tyrell a moron, and I've done it countless times before for his systematic HTML posting and completely ignoring news standards and generally being annoying. (Was that clear as mud??) Actually, the solution is not to edit the texture itself, but the ground object. You will have to change the material settings (Surface # # # command) to match the ones the terrain uses: ambient = 0.2, diffuse 1, this means the Surface command in the RWX should be changed to Surface .2 1 0 (the last value hasn't been used since 2.2, it doesn't matter what it's set to). If you want to, I can do this for you if you mail me the ground object :-)) KAH Newest UpdateJun 14, 2002, 2:59pm

Actually, this is a really old bug, strange how nobody seems to have noticed most bugs before 3.3 lol. It's been there for ages, if you're falling and collide with an object and keep walking into it, even if you're in mid-air, you won't continue to fall until after you release the forward/backward key. It's even more noticeable now with slide-detection, though. The one about running through walls that have been deleted CAN'T be fixed, the only way is to have response from the server that's extremely fast so you don't get time to run through, it is very fast already, it's not a program bug really.
