In AWGate there are two working clocks, one with an hourly gong, does anyone
know how I'd get those ... or IF I could have them for my world? And I'm
told they had a rain effect, and thunder (of which I did hear and see) but I
missed the rain. Any way to get those files? Just wondering ... kewl effects
like real-time rain, snow, etc would be neat in any world I think. Of
course, if these files are private for that world only then I can respect
that!

Thanks folks! Now what about that kewl raining, thunder, noise thang in
AWGate? Would love to know how they did that! Into each life a lil rain must
fall!

Ah OK, I do have a cloud that *drops rain*, I'm using it in AW. Is that the
one you mean? I don't think it was their skybox, not the rain anyway. The
lightning I now assume is also an object or is that right in the skybox too?
I'm thinking it's not because I don't think you can animate a skybox can
you? Thanks for your input all!

Hahaha, lots of comments! OK so where or how do I make it *rain* or *snow*
in my world using the skybox effect? I can't even figure out how to change
the time of day for my skybox LOL. And yes I have xelags ... just no time to
research how the worldscheduler file works ... anyone have working samples

One thing I find extremely hard to get info or help on is object & avatar
creation. Not that there aren't plenty of freebies, and many more to be
bought, but I for one would like to learn how to make objects and avs ...
especially for my own world ... and perhaps when I'm good enough, to sell.
I've gotten scattered help here and there and am extremely thankful for
that. I would love to see *official object &/or avatar creation* classes in
AW. Old webpages and worlds that use to have classes just aren't up to date
enough to follow. We need live people with live advice!
Yes there are *universities* and those gracious enough to donate their time
to helping others, but it appears to me to be no dedicated world/classes
where I can go to learn what I'd like to learn. I myself am a teacher in my
2D chats ... if I could learn here in 3D I would be happy to volunteer to
help others. Perhaps you could start a Teaching world and recruit some who
would dedicate themselves to helping others learn to model objects & avs?
Thanks...

Perhaps leave aw as it is for those who like it, and create a sister world
like it for those that want the new features? Just a suggestion LOL.

I remember it LOL. I never filled it out ... didn't seem to apply to me for
one. Also, I can attest that most do not read the IO messages. And, the
warnings to not click web urls may also have played a factor in the lack of
response. Perhaps do the IO message AND post here in the NGs? I would far
more likely reply here than to IO tho.

Recently I was notified of an *update* via the browser's update feature. I
was not notified in advance that this *update* would be coming, nor was I
told in advance what the *update* was. Even when I'd accepted the *update* I
didn't have any idea what I was updating!? Therefore, since 3.5 is not
available ... one would assume that it's a pre-3.5 beta *update*, as I did.
Also, when I went to the download page in aw I see a link to the beta ng but
guess what ... it's not active. Perhaps you should put something on the page
that indicates the beta ng is currently inactive and you will notify when it
is?
I would like to know though, what is the criteria for being an alpha, verses
beta, tester? How many alpha testers are there? Just curious...

Sorry, just not true. I use satellite at home and the company I work for has

of this month I'll be moving at least a couple hundred miles from where I am
now. I install these, and when I get to my destination I'll be set up and

If I use a pict4.rwx ... what size does the pix hafta be before it gets
stretched or shrunk to fit? Meaning pict4 = what dimensions in pixels? My
point is that I'd like to be able to shrink my pix down to *fit pict4*
rather than having it stretch or shrink accordingly. I know it does this on
it's own but why use pix that are bigger than they need to be, or too small

How close do you have to be to an object with sound in order to hear the
sound? Like, if you are *this close* (in meters I assume) to a sound that
plays automically (say waterfall for instance) you hear it, but not if you
are farther away than. What is the optimum range an av should be in relation
to an object to hear it well?

I agree, good idea about the delay before showing urls at least. I find it
alittle annoying when everything I or others say is delayed tho ... that's
paramount to laaaaaaaaaaaag. Perhaps rather than immediate ejection, the CI
could stop urls from showing? Maybe no urls in AWGate? Dunno what would be
the solution there but most urls are legit websites/pages and are not cause
for ejection.
Personally, on the complaint of *macro use* I like the macros myself. Why
type the same thing over n over. Macros rock! They are intended for new
users and I think are very clear. It wasn't so long ago when I was a tourist
and GK Arella macroed the beejeebers outa me. I was glad to have *someone*
talking to ME and telling ME how the program worked while everyone else
chatted. Then shortly after I got a cit, and when I went from tourist to cit
.... the onduty GK congradulated me! I was in shock to think someone knew
that! LOL
I think most of the GKs do a great job.

Amen, I couldn't have said it better about my *3 friends* LOL. One helps
others, one helps me, and the other is just plain entertaining for all!
Thank you alex. I am sort of leary to update them tho, last time I did I had
to reset everything for each of the three of them. Is there a way to update
them and keep their scripts, dialogs, etc?
