Interesting - Seems like IE supports almost everything whilst NS has a lot
of gaps. A fair guess would be if you use a webpage creator, and what you
do looks good in NS, then you'll be pretty much covered.

GL.

He said that the powers that be have slated the next program upgrade will be
to introduce OpenGL. That is after the release of the version he is
currently working on.

Thanks Goober... That fixed it :o) Its surprising that the AW
installation program doesn't put in that setting as part of the process.

If I remember right - a couple years ago I went through the instructions
given by Vevo, but it didn't work at the time. Either I did something wrong
or its been updated recently.

There was never any agreement that I was "giving" my work to anyone. When I
give something away, or sell it, I put that in writing (as I did with the
Alpha World objects I made).

The NewYork world owner and I had a fight over a petty issue that got
inflamed into something horrible. I apologised for that, and tried for
months to fix it - obviously my negotiating skills leave a lot to be
desired. I have many failings and for that I am sorry.

When I saw all was lost in the friendship with the NewYork world owner I
went and got a new world with some of my friends so that I could finish the
project I set out to achieve, using my own objects, my own textures, my own
pictures, and my own building. VR Times Square was and is built solely and
wholey by myself with the sweat of my own brow and by no other person. Any
duplication of that work can only be done with my approval and endorsement,
and by giving me due credit for the work. If someone goes against this,
well, too bad *sniff*, going to court to defend my "rights" is just too
much drama and too expensive. I would only consider doing that if I stood
to lose money, and that is not the case. Furthermore, once I've made a
friend I always do my best to keep that friendship and never do anything to
upset that. Sometimes, that just isn't possible.

I'm not in the least surprised that the NewYork world owner is angry at what
has eventuated. I asked her many times to come resolve things with me to
avoid it. And even when it reached the point where I decided to forge ahead
in a world I shared ownership of - I offered her the opportunity to join the
team at no cost or loss to her, and with everything to gain. I'm very sorry
we couldn't work together.

I invite you all to come join us in Broadway... a great world that
combines the talents of some very special and talented people. The world is
now open to public building and I would be honoured if you came to build,
or just to hang out with friends and catch some sites.

As time goes on we will be adding even more special features, not to mention

Its a shame FriendPA in the interests of clearing the truth posted this
post.

Its an inditement on the rest of you that she was compelled to do so.

All that she said is true, although sometimes she gives her opinion about my
motivations which, while partly true, do not give the complete picture and
as a whole it misses out on how sad I am about everything.

Yes I am a perfectionist and yes I am self interested. I adopted FriendPA's
dream and even now want to fulfil it. I valued her friendship and wish
there was never a split. The whole thing is just a tragedy.

I want a successful world, both as a community world and a commercial one.
I'd so much rather have FriendPA's support, but not having it does mean I
should give up.

To PA, sorry I'm not a better person. Any time you want to talk please
don't hesitate. When I deleted my files, I was 95% sure you had back-ups
anyway - Lord knows I reminded you enough times to keep back-ups.

To the rest of you, shut the f*** and get off our case.

Hi Ladybunny

The most likely reason is that the October Avatar has
"JointTransformBegin/End" commands throught it. Using a decent text editor
will make a one step search and replace with blank for you to fix the
problem. Alternatively you could run your avatar through Accutrans.

PS: Modelling questions might get fast replies through the "worldbuilders"
newsgroup.

Whatever the case... that Chuck spits the dummy over a deleted build that
he made in the restricted/reserved area in a special privs account name is
just plain stupid behaviour... and then going over to the (much
discussed) opposition NewYork (where my objects and builds still exist
without my permission) is downrightright childish.

But he doesn't leave it there, he posts the whole thing in the newsgroups.
Get a grip dude and grow up! :o)

Personally I was extremely pissed off that he did go start building for
NewYork world, and even more pissed off that FriendPA gave him the privs to
do it. I lost my temper and thought at the time it was very conniving...
but hey... that's now the past and I couldn't care less anymore. :o)

On the other accusation of megalomia... hmmm.... maybe. :o) I think
I'm a great builder and although there's lots of room for improvement and
some areas where I lack the right "touch" most people agree. What I know is
I'm not real good with people. But I try to be nice and polite, and I'm
always happy to forgive and forget. I'm in AW because I love to create and
I get satisfaction from people enjoying what I've built. I also enjoy
sharing my skills with others for them to learn and will always help others
when asked. I'm not in AW to make friends and there-in lies my personality
flaw.

Wouldn't I be boring if I was both talented and friendly? *chuckles*

Chuck,

If you are still crying over one building that was deleted, I'd think you
should just to grow up! It was deleted because it didn't meet the needs of
the world owners.

On the other issues you've thought it appropriate to raise.... As I've
said repeatedly and you seem to be too wrapped up in your own hurt pride to
realise, is that I moved my original work from one world (NewYork) to
another world (Broadway) using a bot. The only "copy" that exists is the
one that FriendPa continues to keep in NewYork dispite my request that she
delete it.

The only reason it is still there is because of her stubborness, and my
unwillingness to take the matter to court. The whole thing is just too
trivial, too petty. What I don't understand is how you or anyone could take
pride in NewYork world when almost all of it and its custom objects and
textures were created by me, yet I am not even welcome to visit it, let
alone find any sign giving me credit for its creations?

The problem is people like yourself that perpuate the ill feeling and make
my life a misery. It is people like you, raising this whole thing as a
controversy, that will stop others appreciating my work because it would be
"too political" to give me the credit or support. As it stands I doubt I
will ever get a Cy award again, a credit that always looks impressive on any
employment resume or sponsorship submission.

I've said enough. Give it a rest Chuck - you've hurt enough people.

Not only do you do nothing when Chucks Party, and others in the past, post
their vitriol in the newsgroup because they took personal affront over some
petty issue, but you posted this article?

I do hope your event went well, and have distanced myself so that you can
enjoy your event in peace. What I don't understand is how you live with
yourself for the extra digs you obviously intended for me.

You say "NewYork is in a constant state of transition" Yes and why is
that? Because you grabbed hold of the people that bounced off Broadway
world, Borgs4ever, Chucks Party and jfk2. Do you take pride in using people
who once were part of Broadway world, too weak to stand up for themselves
when things didn't go their way? Who anyone else would regard as traiters?
Tell me, since I left have you done any work yourself in NewYork world or
have you continued to use other people?

You say in your post "I personally go to NYC to capture pictures of Times
Square for the realistic building of NewYork" Really? How many times did
I ask you to go in and get more pictures and you said no? And how many
times did I tell you that the pictures you took needed improvement? And
even so, I still managed to do all that "realistic building" you appear so
eager to boast about. Well sorry, but the truth is I spent hours upon
hours surfing the web searching out other pictures and information I could
use to build from. And once I'd done that, I searched out other
photographers to get what I needed.

You say "We are especially honored and proud to announce our recognition
etc." We? We who? Why are you honored? What did you contribute? And
furthermore, the magazine does not refer to NewYork world - it refers to the
"virtual re-creations of Times Square etc". You did not make it - I did.
Truely what have you got to boast about? That you hosted my work is about
all you can take credit for.

I do try to turn a blind eye to your continued disregard of the copyright of
my objects. You don't have permission to use my objects, nor do you have
permission to allow anyone else to use my objects, yet you continue to
breach copyright law as if somehow you have a right to? To add insult to
injury you refuse to place any credit to me in your world for the objects or
the builds.

Finally I remind you, that it was you that failed to trust me when you
should have. It was you that withdrew the rights that I needed to continue
my work. And it was you that denied us any opportunity to reconcile the
problems or compromise towards a resolution. With this in mind you have no
second thoughts when you tell people about how I have wronged you and did
bad by you?

You are so eager to discredit my name and take all the credit yourself.
Well think about it - subtract all the work I did from NewYork world and
tell me what would be left that you can take credit for? If you keep all my

Why don't you simply ask FriendPA what the situation is?

1 - Most of my objects begin with a copyright clause;
2 - FriendPA is aware that most of my objects have a copyright clause and if
they don't that I intended to put one in (as discussed when I was given FTP
rights to begin with);
3 - I had FriendPA upload files to the server and, once I had rights,
uploaded them myself for me to build with in the construction of Times
Square. That does not mean I gave permission to FriendPA to build with them
or use them, nor did she ask for that right;
4 - Once I saw there was no reconciliation after our arguement, I withdrew
my permission for FriendPA to be in possession of my files. Not only did I
state this to her many times over but re-inforced this by deleting (only) my
files off the server. Clearly this had no effect because FriendPA kept
further copies of my files on her local PC (again without my permission).
She then re-uploaded my files to a new server that I did not have access to.

Considering the above, obviously the legal points you raise do not preclude
legal action, including damages.

Now considering that
a) neither I nor (I assume) FriendPA, have asked for your opinion, and,
b) you are not nor have you ever been a lawyer, and,
c) you have had no experience in copyright law, and,
d) you do not have all the facts, and,
e) no-one is interested in this dispute except you, for seemingly the wrong
reasons,
why don't you mind your own business and stop rehashing this? The only
thing you achieve is perpuation of the hurt both FriendPA and I feel.

The dimensions are pretty much kept true to life... using the metric
system. Each unit of measurement is equal to one decameter (ten meters).

If you open an rwx file... say a pp01.rwx, in your text editor, you will
see that the dimensions are .4 high and .4 wide.

..4 of a decameter is 4 meters.

Now go take a walk with your human type avatar next to pp01 and you will see
your avatar stands a little less than half the height of it. In fact most
of the Alpha avatars can fit under anything lifted 2 meters above ground,
and the average hieght of adults is within the 1.5 to 1.75 meter range (5 to
6 feet).

As a final note, a meter can be reached with 2 presses of any movement key
when building (arrows or the plus or minus keys). An example of this is the
walk001h.rwx which is 20 x 20 clicks wide and deep, which equals 10 x 10
meters, which equals 1 x 1 decameter, which equals the width and depth of
one "cell" in Active Worlds.

You can buy increased cit entry limits... US$50 = 5 extra cit entry limit
(although I think that is way too expensive)

Also, if you are holding a special event in your world you can arrange for
an increased limit for one day at no cost.

JFK2 - you idiot. You will most likely lose your account for this stupid
post. FriendPA is tougher than you think and her stress was more related to
a loss in her family than anything from me. She was basically ignoring me.
In the end it was you that was provoking things and you that was the source
of all the stress. Count your blessings that I keep my tongue about you.
Chuck I know can wear a few blows to his chin, but you are just a nutter.

Chuck - I'm glad it will stop. I believe ignoring each other will be a
mutual pleasure.

FriendPA - I'm sure you will read this... Here is the olive branch.... No
more threats from me, legal or otherwise. Keep the objects and buildings
etc. that I created - you can regard this posting as a permanent licence to
use them. I will arrange a link to NewYork and credit and thankyou to you
close to Broadway GZ.. I trust you will reciprocate. Maybe in time, a
loooong time, I will show my face in AW again. Whatever the case, you won't
receive any further communication from me, but you know where you can reach

AWComm and PeaceKeepers - you could have and should have prevented all this
with more definative action. Little slaps on the wrist and finger waving
don't fix anything. You have the tools to lock out accounts and provide

You were never denied credit for having created your bot.
You were never denied being able to use the bot in another world.
I never made any suggestions or claims that I owned NewYork world.
I never "trashed" an object path, although I did delete the objects that I
had created from PAs object path, which were subsequently returned from
copies PA had. At that time that I did that, it was already several weeks
after PA had removed my Caretaker, ED, PS, eject, and building rights, and
refused to reconcile.

There is no justification for Chucks Party and JFK2 using illegal acts -
extortion, slander and harrassment to effect a result, and if Chucks Party
was suspended for putting over 50 signs linking to his slander from one end
of Broadway world to the other I think he got off lightly.

The situation Chuck and JFK were trying to avert was my legal action against
FriendPA, which was a legitimate recourse. They fail to acknowledge that it
was JFKs harrassment that led me to send emails to FriendPA asking her to
intervene, and then ultimately start the copyright legal action, which in
this case was a letter of demand. Like... big deal! A letter of demand!
JFK still did not stop, so I had PK assistance to stop him (yet he is still
harrassing me via the newsgroups). It was a couple of days after then that
Chuck posted his slander for the first time.

Finally, for those bothering to read this thread still, for Chuck to suggest
I am a threat to the AW community (or anyone in it) based on a presumed
sexual preference is slanderous. Furthermore, my preferences are my concern
and not open for public comment.

Unless you are referring to an exe or some other file with its extention
altered into htm or jpg, I am not aware of any viruses being delivered
through htm, and opening a jpg will certainly not deliver a virus. To be
infected the file must actually *do* something, either as a running program
(exe, vbs) , or as a macro (doc).

If you know differently, please let us know with a web reference?
