I agree on the tourist thing. Allowing tourists in worlds like AW is a good
way of letting them decide whether to join or not. If I hadn't been to AW
as a tourist, then I would have never encountered the person to teach me how
to build. Also, if I was a tourist in AW now, I wouldn't join, because I
would not want to take the gamble of "maybe I won't like AW" Sure there are
other public worlds that tourists can visit, but not that many, and none of
them give a great example of the active worlds universe the way AW does.

It is unfortunate that a great person on AW like wings is leaving. I can
understand that though. Ever since general world access for tourists was
disabled in early 2002, the whole enthusiasm to join active worlds just
about disappeared. I suggest lowering the yearly price to something like
$60 or $55, then allowing tourists in all worlds, unless the world owner
disables tourist access. Many tourist worlds have just about disappeared
because of that extra "tax" that world owners now have to pay if they want
to help potential customers. Allowing tourists in AW was a great idea
anyway, despite how long tourist builds can last in AlphaWorld, most still
wanted to join and become a part of the AW community, all because of the
great experience they got from AlphaWorld.

The first thing would be to make it easier for tourists to experience AW.
It is obvious that by putting so many restrictions on tourist access to the
universe, the customers go down.
1. because the tourists can't experience AW first hand
2. because a lot of citizens in AW lost friends because of the price hikes,
and because they couldn't come back as tourists, the citizens who didn't
expire decided to leave too.
I can't tell you how many people have given me telegrams saying "I am
leaving AW, All my friends are gone because AW is too expensive" A lot of
those people who sent the telegrams probably would have been less inclined
to leave if they had still been able to easily contact their friends as
tourists. Yes, there is AWteen, but that does not give the experience that
AW gives.

sh*t isn't being thrown at you. I saw you in VWTV the other day complaining
about how we (vwtv) are so much more lucky. You are making your own sh*t
and wiping it all over you expecting to get some sympathy. I'm fed up with
it lol. If you want to help the community, do it for the sake of helping
the community, not to get some sort of reward out of it (I.E. fame,
popularity). Mother Theresa helped people, and people called her a failure
because she wasn't rich and famous. She didn't care. She was happy because
she was making others happy!

aahh my mistake, but that's not the point. she helped others for the sake
of making the world a better place, not to get appreciated. you wouldn't
have found her stomping around the streets complaining how miserable she was

According to the people I've talked to, tourists is only going to be during
AWFest. The closing ceremony is over, and tourists are still allowed.
Hopefully they will "forget" to disable tourist acccess and maybe
"accidentally" enable tourist building? ;D

Would be nice to have some new objects, simple ones like what comit said,
maybe even those nifty curved pp16 pieces that AWTeen has.
Cloud layers, i'm all for it, but it would also be nice to have a day and
night along with the cloud layers

cybertown.com had something similar to that, it was the "morphs" vs. the
"loyalists". It was interesting, and everyone in the community got
involved.. or just experienced it. It was two governments that battled
eachother I believe.

If I "donated" a certain amount of money to a grocery store, they will offer
me some of their products as a "thank you".

You need to learn to suck it up and take whatever is thrown at you. You
can't call everything slander and threaten a court case on it. A lot of
people are having problems with you just because of how you react when mud
is thrown at you.

If the computer automatically restarts itself, it might be a problem with
your power supply. You might not have enough power for your computer. I
know that my computer is 40 watts under what it needs.

I got that windows update too, and afterwards, my computer has been
restarting itself and getting bluescreens all day.

Okay I am just gonna post this for my own personal amusement (I don't expect

physical health? mental health? spiritually? this is just a CHAT program
using renderware. if you are having a physical health problem, there is no
surgeon.rwx with an "create animate me healing. 1 1 0" command on it that
magically heals you. Spirituality? Go to a nearby church in the real
world. Mental health? go somewhere in RL and contact a psychologist or (if
you are in school) the school counselor. What you have completely forgotten
is that there is something called RL. Every post you have made implies that
we are somehow trapped in this AW program. Like people have said a thousand
times before, if you don't like it, simply unsubscribe. But, of course, you
have never addressed your problem with why you can't just leave. Are you
handcuffed to the computer with no way of communicating except AW? But
seriously, you should sell your computer and take a walk outside. Go hiking
or something.

Also, if it hasn't worked so far, what makes you think that we will all
change our minds and start a movement? AWI is a BUISNESS. We are
SUBSCRIBERS, who are getting exactly what you paid for. If YOU want
something extra, like a right to control where the owner puts his money,
then you should be paying more money to AWI.
