You're right. It *is* my loss because I don't like to hang around some of
the lunatics in the AW community who bend over backwards to launch a
"revolution" which don't even amount to a HILL OF BEANS in the eyes of AWI,
the COMPANY who OWNS the servers and everything else which make this service
possible.

Anyway...I don't wanna get into another thread about TheLady (although I'm
afraid I may have already done that for all I know), but that's *my* take on
this matter.

If this turns out to *not* be TheLady in any way, shape or form, I will
stand most humbly corrected. But seriously Crazy Pills.....If ya don't do
anything else, at least GET A SPELL CHECKER (or enable the one your
newsreader).

I've said enough....Back to my cave.... :-)

to talk to even though there's NO ONE at Ground Zero (believe it or not,
this HAS happened a few times). IMHO, exploring should be considered just
that. Exploring. Nothing more. Nothing less.

other "Dot Com" for that matter!) don't encourage the transferring of ANY
account for ANY reason. It's just that simple.

In all sincerity, I do wish you well with your new citizenship, but I also
hope you've learned a lesson or two stemming from your "old" one.

Thanks Grims. Means a lot. :-)

Though I have to admit that given the theme I've chosen, my BIGGEST
challenge would have to be creating additional rooms in and furnishing all
those homes (one of which is MY house).

Once I get that done, the rest of it should come fairly easy *knocking on
wood* :-)

Once its all done, I hope to get it noticed in AWNews, but I'm not holding
my breath as I'm sure the staff there is quite picky :-)

Either way you look at it, it will be one COOL place to be. :-)

Adding NetBroadcaster will give people a reason to turn on a TV when they
see one. :-)

Am I pleased about the way in which AW went about breaking this news or the
timing of it??? No. But if it does some good, then WHY COMPLAIN????

Yeah. They're trying to charge you for services rendered using CC
information that's OUTDATED!!!

Hi everyone:

I'm at it again, trying to make my hou....err WORLD a HOME (only this time
doing it the RIGHT way by using the object maker! :-)). However I've
noticed some peculiarities.

I created two couches to go into each of the first two homes. One I manage
to SUCCESSFULLY insert inside one home (this is the home NOW with all the
furnishings) and the other is merely a hull of an object that's called a
couch, but otherwise is basically non-existent (and the home is empty and
devoid of ANY furniture AT ALL).

Meanwhile I've also got two MISSING (yes that's right, I said MISSING)
toilets. I have NO idea where these two objects are. I moved them well
down the street I presume. That's all I know on that.

Suffice to say, I was pleasantly (and most oddly) surprised (read SHOCKED)
when I opened the door of the home which I am now standing in at this moment
(I have my AW browser open and I am now standing in a room of the
now-furnished home), but was glad to see that I now have one less home to
complete. However, I am perplexed as to.....

1). The couch inside the other home across the street (which is also off to
the left and on the corner as you face outward from the doorway of the now
furnished home) STILL looks like a hull instead of an actual couch.

2). Why the home with the hull is still empty and devoid of furniture
(though this can be easily rectified).

3). How TWO toilets managed to (somehow!) DISAPPEAR (read VANISH WITHOUT A
TRACE!).

Now while this certainly isn't the same pickle as the one I was in last week
(and I'm sure there's an easy explanation for it), but it nonetheless leaves
me with a puzzled and perplexing look on my face.

Do any of you see what I'm seeing or do I just simply need to clean my
cache???

I'll keep my browser open even though I won't be able to respond (it's late
and I need to get to sleep), so you can leave your response in the world or
reply here (Not to sound ignorant, but it makes no difference to me). But I
really would like an answer to this puzzling and perplexing situation.

going to do is duplicate the object maker and put instances of that thing

Aside from that, I think an image conversion program customized SPECIFICALLY
for ActiveWorlds COMPLETE WITH UPLOADER so that the images appear in a
special object compiler which only covers a particular world (and is
accessible ONLY the world builder(s) and deginated appointees) would be in
order as the type of program needed to create objects for an AW world isn't
easy to find (and the only one that I'm aware of is MEGA expensive for MY
blood) :-(

Thoughts on this anyone???

Again, thanks Jynx. I'm already back to work (after a good nights sleep :-)
*stretch* *yawn*) adding on to my world so that the other homes (including
the one I've chosen as MY OWN spot) look just as good (if not better) than
the one I spent the night in. :-)

of DirectX forcing me to do a CTRL-ALT-DEL and END TASK to close the
program).

The return of support for 2.2 would be an excellent idea as a backup because
AT LEAST I could log on to AW for chatting (wouldn't do much for my 3D
Homepage building, but hey...). But alas, Corporate America doesn't believe
in providing support for something old once they've already cut it off. :-(

Life's rough. Life's tough. But we all somehow manage to get over it. :-)

It's too bad we live in a society which has a problem with something called
SHORT TERM BRAIN SPAN because if people ACTUALLY **REMEMBER** that opening
viruses CAN crash your computer, there would even really BE a need for
Anti-Virus software.

But alas, we don't live in such a society like we used to so these companies
have to BABY some people (while milking them for all their worth) by
providing Anti-Virus software like a doctor provides Antibiotics to cure us
when WE AS PEOPLE come down with a virus.

In short, it's as simple as putting on a coat before going outside in the
middle of Winter (you DO own a coat, do you??).

assuming I get a satisfactory answer) THREE (soon to be FOUR) online radio
stations.

My point being this....I would **LOVE** to know the rationale (aside from
their OBVIOUS need to make $$$) behind this decision. Moreover, I'd love to
know just WHO made the decision!!!!

AW Support is getting a CC of this message and UNLESS I receive a
satisfactory answer, THIS 3D Homepage Owner **WILL** PULL THE PLUG!!!!

Now some of you might say something like "Get over it" or "Good Riddens",
but *I* am NOT going to pay ANYTHING just to allow tourists (which people
who've NEVER heard of ActiveWorlds before visiting my site(s) WILL
UNDOUBTEDLY start out as) to visit my Homepage World. There ARE
alternatives if AW would GET OFF THEIR LAZY BUTTS and EXPLORE THEM!!!!

In short, I say what's good for the goose is for the gander!!! By that I
mean either treat 3D Homepage AND tradional world owners EQUALLY or
DISCONTINUE the 3D Homepage concept altogether since the timing of it's
launch and the rollout of the original pricing scheme was HORRIFYING and
those of us who are 3D Homepage owners (at least those of us FEW BRAVE SOULS
who've come out in public) are ALREADY getting a bad rap AS IT IS!!!

3D Homepage Owners - TIME TO UNITE!!!!!!

Well....IF I decide to keep my 3D Homepage, I will (most regrettably!) have
to refuse tourists because unless they make it whereas I can pay ANNUALLY,
that $2.00 is just one more bill I'd be forced to contend with each month
and I just don't wanna have to be bothered with that.

Not only that, but SOME of us are TRYING to bring AW some NEW USERS!!!! How
are we supposed to convince TOTAL STRANGERS to come to our 3D Homepages if
WE have to be stuck paying a MONTHLY $2.00 fee JUST SO THEY CAN GET ON?????

It's not that I don't mind paying a little extra to allow tourists, but I
don't wanna submit my $24 to allow tourists onto my 3D Homepage only to be
told they can't accept it that way. That's MY main beef....

Call me picky and paranoid if you wish, but I just think the way they rolled
this out was nothing more than typical of AW (which is WITHOUT ensuring all
the bases were covered BEFOREHAND).

Just my opinion....
