I don't have a problem with anyone assuming a different persona. Lots of
people do that both in AW and out of it. Posing as someone else doesn't
make them a "monster". When you accuse Seiya of being a monster I simply
don't believe you.
I never said being good at building gives Seiya the "right" to do something
bad - your accusation that I said or meant this is ridiculous. I didn't
even imply that Seiya should be forgiven because he is a good builder. I
did say he should be forgiven because he apologised and was contrite about
bad behaviour. And seriously - all this was over a year ago. If you can't
forgive - fine - but for goodness sakes - Move On Already!
If you can prove Seiya sexually exploited a child, I don't want to hear it.
It certainly doesn't belong here in NGs. Instead report it to AW and they
will act very quickly indeed.
Don't bring your bad news to NGs - I'm not interested. Instead - try
spreading a little joy.
Finally - I have always appreciated and commended great building skills in
AW. I have a teleport area at my place in Alpha dedicated to just that.
Your implication that I don't know of other great builders, modellers,
contributers, etc. is niave.

Too much paranoia - I think Seiya is playing mind games with you and the
others that keep attacking him. Maybe the only one you should worry about
protecting is yourself - you'll have a nervous breakdown before long with
all the witches flying brooms outside your window.

Honestly I'm surprised you've been around so long. In which case - I really
don't understand why you are overreacting. I can only guess he has pressed
your buttons.
When Seiya led some guy on to the point of a cyber wedding, that was a
really low act. He apologised.
But ever since people have kept goading and provoking him, never letting him
live that down. And on it goes.

I wrote this to Sharon... and I write the same to you...
Sharon
I have spoken with Seiya a few times, both in his old "female" identity and
his "real" one. His old identity was one he created because of low self
esteem and wanting to make friends the "easy" way as a pretty young lady.
Granted it was a lie, and not wanting to loose friends he carried the lie
too far. In confusion trying to defend himself he then attacked people
harshly. He apologized for that.
Since he revealed his true identity some people have continued to attack him
and on occasions he has attacked back harshly again. Those same people have
given this as an example of him not having changed.
All I see is a person that made some bad mistakes and is over emotional. He
may have some other character flaws, but don't we all? If people can't
forgive his mistakes - fine - then don't talk to him. But continuing to
bring it up, not leaving it in the past, and not allowing him to go on to do
good things with his remarkable building talent is cruel.

Actually - a Jetson's thing is a cool idea! :o)
But as it happens my big ol build in Alpha is "meant" to be a big horseshoe
shape plateau surrounding a stream leading to a dam. On the plateau are a
few odd things, like a nightclub with that carpark, a temple, theatre, and a
few other things.
I'm sure you'll find it eventually - try cut and paste.

Nope
There's a crude workaround - create a duplicate av and make the dance seq
the wait seq... then switch avs to keep dancing, switch back when you're
done dancing. You'll probably need to create an empty endwait seq to go
with it to avoid funny skips at the end of each loop.

I haven't retested so my memory of things could be wrong...
The seqs between "beginimp" and "endimp" are standard and have specific
functions. This includes "wait" and "endwait". I think what I previously
said about an "empty" endwait was misleading - there needs to be something
in there or the wait seq won't loop.
To go over again my suggestion... Create a duplicate avatar-endavatar in
your avatar.dat and
make the wait=danceseq
For the endwait sequence I think you'll have to make one. You can do this
with Accutrans. Make the first frame the same as the last frame of your
dance seq, and make the last frame (say one second later) the same as the
first frame of your dance seq.
If that is too hard, gram me and I'll send you a standing still one second
seq.

Nice of you to make another resource, but most of your explanations are
wrong or misleading or have better alternatives.
Your use of "astop" is incorrect and should be removed from all of your
examples. "astop" is generally only useful to stop a running animation
sequence - as in, an "off" switch.
There is no such animation as ".". It causes aw browser errors. Better is
a small named texture like "ac.", which also makes the triggers easier to
find when they're underground. If for some reason you want the triggers
visible and don't want the textured, you can assign the animate to a
non-existant tag.
If the sequence is to be triggered in the create stage, you must only have
an "astart" in the create section of the first object in the sequence. A
common error is putting astart in the create of every object.
I put my demo of the full use and explanation of astart astop adone in
AWSchool at 25N 40W 180
I rewrote your examples as follows:
------------------ manual start --------------------
rock1.rwx - create name targ1
wavspk.rwx - create name trig1, animate me ac. 1 1 0; adone move 10
name=targ1, astart trig2
wavspk.rwx - create name trig2, animate me ac. 1 1 1000; adone move 0 0 110
name=targ1, astart trig3
wavspk.rwx - create name trig3, animate me ac. 1 1 1000; adone move -10
name=targ1
button_g.rwx - activate astart trig1
---------------- auto start ---------------------------
rock1.rwx - create name targ1
wavspk.rwx - create name trig1, animate me ac. 1 1 1000, astart; adone move
10 name=targ1, astart trig2
wavspk.rwx - create name trig2, animate me ac. 1 1 1000; adone move 0 0 110
name=targ1, astart trig3
wavspk.rwx - create name trig3, animate me ac. 1 1 1000; adone move -10
name=targ1, astart trig1
---------------- manual stop ------------------------
button_r.rwx - activate astop targ1

The "." causes "Warning: unable to download
objects.activeworlds.com/aw/textures/.jpg (file not found)". Technically
then its not an error - its just annoying.
When I first looked I didn't read all of your tutorial, and missed the
desired goal of moving to one location, then from there to the next, and
then on to a third. Thus I was overly critical and sorry about that.
Apart from the "." thing, its all good now :o)

Translate is a really simple command
translate 0.5 0 0 # to shift your horsey 5 meters to the right (if horsey
is facing forward), or
translate 0 0 0.5 # to shift your horsey 5 meters forward (if horsey is

Chris...
I beg to differ - I can't remember any time when AWTeen had more people in
it than Broadway during the New Years Eve event. In the screen shots I took
AWTeen doesn't get even get close.

I read the posting from CP - and he said nothing about any prom event. The
way I read it he was talking about the New Years Eve event on new years eve.
That's all I was talking about and all I care about.
So which "completely wrong" are you talking about?
If the comparison was about whether Broadway gets more visitors on any other
day - well heck that's just a silly comparison to make - Broadway is not
even in the same zone.
If we're trying to figure out what event of all events has had the most in
attendance - then Cy Awards is far beyond anything else.

Very pretty. :)
Perhaps the left hand margin is a bit wide?

Works for me...
World path.... www.broadway-world.com\op\models
Path in aw browser... C:\Documents and Settings\PC User\My
Documents\Aworld\Broadway
Path on my C drive... C:\Documents and Settings\PC User\My
Documents\Aworld\Broadway\www.broadway-world.com\op\models
The op\models also has op\textures, op\sounds, op\textures, etc.
I think AW's help file explains this.

There was a change made to seq processing a long time ago and it did make
avs jump at the end of wait.seq. I think its also got something to do with
the endwait.seq not playing.
The upshot is, worldowners have to redo their endwait seqs. AW still have
not addressed the problem in AlphaWorld, where almost all worlds get their
endwaits from.
Perhaps someone has fixed them all already and would like to make them
available to all world owners?

Divide the awards into two categories...
- "Most Popular BlahBlah..." voted on by the community
- "Best BlahBlah..." voted on by a panel of judges.
The judges should be selected from peers... i.e. excellent builders vote
on builders, owners of excellent worlds vote on best world, bot makers vote
on best bot.

Sure - that would work fine.
I also do like the idea raised of the community providing a list of
candidates for the judges to chose from. For something with a lot of
candidates like best build, the list could be divided up between 5 judges,
who go take a look at whats worthy to go on a short list, from which the
panel would make their final decision.

I can't remember meeting either Strike Rapier or Lady Teal so believe I'm
impartial.
I want the Cys very much.
I think sack Lady Teal, let Strike Rapier run the show.

Sounds exciting as either a spectator or a competitor! Best idea in ages.
Looking forward to hearing more about this.
