well - i'm back. what a coincidence, just in time to reply to your post,
blue! abnormal indeed, we were moving, and i didn't know how long it would
take to transfer my DSL. only suspecting a few days, i didn't really tell
anyone, and only changed my msn name to 'maki's moving.' later on i found
out it was scheduled to be setup at the new place on june 11th, which even
then was a long ways away from when we moved, around the end of may. by june
11th, it wasn't setup, so we called, and they said the last person we talked
to never sent in the order request.
so, that person setup a request, and i checked the order status online the
day before it was now supposed to be scheduled for(june 19th), and it said
the order request had been cancelled, and a new one was created for the
24th. we called again, they explained and apologized and said it'd work the
next day(june 20th). we got the confirmation, but still, it didn't work.
today however, it began working, completely unsuspectingly. so, the source
all in all of my absence: Qwest. i really don't understand how an entire
company can be made up of such idiotic employees that it lives up to it's
stereotype, but oh well, we didn't give up with them and now it works.
hurray. :)

that's nice to know - maybe i did, seeing as how it was 2 in the morning at
the time of the post, however, jealousy? no - i did say i would never allow
you to ever cover the cost of anything of mine, that's what i meant. maybe
because you'd have wanted that comment to be a jealous one, thinking you're
godly, paying for people's citizenships and your huge worlds, only to end up
crying to the community for support. i don't know - but it sure as hell
wasn't a comment out of jealousy.
oh, by the way - seems maybe you've just read other people say that, that i
never have anything positive to say. you really don't know me, and you don't
know how i am outside of this newsgroup - maybe it's just the people in
here, or just the way it makes people act - but much of the time it doesn't
seem like there should be anything positive said to some of the posts or
replies on here. you may say i don't know you enough to make such a comment,
but i guess, i, just as you, imply these things from what posts are made in
here. i may sound negative - you may sound helpless.

it's a good idea, but you can never tell with VR tv stations, that'd have to
be constantly updated as they're always coming and going, and you never
really know when. they're all over. and, the tv database has kind of already
been done, has it not? with that aw tv viewer, forgot what the org was

you know what's interesting? i really don't see anyone else in aw doing such
things as you. there's hardly anyone else out there, or at least anyone who
really cares enough to speak towards it, that are trying to declare
'independence', whining about privacy, tourists, basically saying that we
should rebel against AWI, the rightful owners of this software.
as everyone always says in reply to your posts - aw isn't 'real life' - we
don't need a government here, we have one, the administrators, the AWI
staff. 'conflict or online war'? 'worked out peacefully'? 'govern
ourselves'? i suppose that means you're also going to govern(take on
responsibility for) AWI's bills, emails, programming/development, and other
issues?
most everyone else seems to be just fine with the way AW is run at the
moment - sure, maybe some people don't like that tourists aren't allowed
everywhere - but those people can apparently learn to get over it, as with
other things. just like you're going to have to, otherwise, there really
seems to be no point for you to stay here since you hate everything here.

I hope you read this through, word for word, as you seem to hope of others(I
did, and times through to be sure I understand and touched on everything).
Bruce, opinionated it may be, but it leaves it open, somewhat. The article
focuses on what I've seen and heard regarding A!!CT. Excuse me for not
'signing' the article, I suppose I figured people would infer I was the
author(as they obviously have), and was going along with the generic AWNews
unsigned informational articles.
Bruce, if you really knew me now, you'd know that I am a great supporter of
Active Worlds. Why would I put so much effort into something like the AWNews
site itself for a slowly dying community? To finish it off? That would be a
waste of time - instead, I could just leave, as so many people are. But I
don't - and I refuse to use similar software, because I believe in AW's
potential. Excuse me for not being able to afford thousands of dollars to
give me the right to say I like AW, I support AW. Instead I do what I can, I
use what little talent I have to do something for the community. You comment
about me saying you use money to buy supporters, bribery, and yet, in the
same post you ask why I don't write an article about the $1000 you pay AWI
and don't get a universe welcome message.
On the subject of tourists - you "were" absolutely right Bruce, I disliked
tourists for quite some time. But I'm well over that, it comes over time
with the compassion for the software. Have you ever heard of AWGate.com? I
maintain that as well. Do you know what that's aimed towards? That's right,
tourists. It may not be perfect, but I spend my time making what I do here
better. Have I spent loads of money to give tourists a chance? No, but I
show that I don't hate them in the way that I want to help them.
Did I really say that people are held captive in your world? There is some
reference to A!!CT as being a 'refuge' for tourists, but this is during the
explanation of the past, when there was a very sparing amount of places in
which tourists could go. I honestly don't see that as being a bad thing.
You may imply the article as being entirely abusive towards you and A!!CT,
but I believe that the majority of the article is what is seen by the
average public. There are supporters of A!!CT, there are people who don't
like it so much - there isn't really any changing what any of them think -
don't you agree? So I'm not as far on your side as you might want me to be,
I don't hate you and the entire community because of that.
