Only if used for profit. Usually if you're doing stuff on your
freetime, such as for entertainment purposes outside of generating
profits, copyright infringement won't do anything.
If rockstar can prove they're losing money because of you using their
models in ActiveWorlds, they'd have case -- other than that, the judge
would laugh at them.
Nov 12, 2005, 3:14am
ya, thats what bowen said, if rockstar can prove they're loosing money.
but i personally aint so sure about that, seeing, how you pointed out, they
had to spend to get those models created, and have the right to have it used
however they choose, and only them

Didn't read the whole article, but here's my opinion:
If they can prove someone is without doubt, defiantly the murderer (in 1st
degree) then, I have absolutely nothing against the death penalty. It may
not bring the victim back, but hey, if someone decides someone else doesn't
deserve to live, there's no reason they should be allowed to.
What I am against though, is the fact that half the people on death row,
probably didn't commit the murder, but were just unlucky enough to be at the
wrong place at the wrong time, or too poor to afford a decent lawyer.
Or, those who just admit to doing things, even when they didn't do it, after
all the stress from the questioning.
But other then that, if someone is guilty beyond all doubt (like, they got
it on video tape), then let them die.
Might seam barbaric, or whatever, but hey, that's just my view on things. I
don't see why people should feel any sympathy for people who kill.

oh, and for an example, read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hi-Fi_Murders

of course, unless I misunderstood the article, and it was more about the
innocent people, then the death sentence itself. then never mind

ya, that or, if they sold certain objects until they have enough money to
run the world for another year, then let them go for free, and next year,

I'm sure they'd be able to find some people willing to donate objects

I think it actually originated from the Aryans whom lived in BC India.
It may explain why the NAZIs considered themselves "Aryan." Even though
Aryans are more closely related to present day Pakistanis in looks.
Supposedly.
Greece adpoted it from the Indians via the Macedonian invasion of lower
Europa and Asia, a la Alexander. Because knowledge is power! :-P

emm, i've been in aw since atleast 2.2 or 2.0, and i've never seen 3000
cits, hell, most i remember seeing was probably about 800, and even that i'm
not too sure of. i mean, if they had been having 3000 cits on at a time my
guess is that the new cit numbers would be way higher then the 350,000
numbers they are now.
my guess is that picture had a bit of retouching. so they really only need a
third of the cits they had before to be making more money then they did at
the $20, which i don't doubt they do.
On another point, AW didn't sell the idea to Wells, Linden Lab probably did,
since it was originally on the Secondlife platform.

Yep, paying blindly isn't the smartest. usually, in such places are
Rentacoder, the buyer doesn't pay fully until the whole project is complete,
and approved. unless ofcourse,t hey agree to pay in stages. but seeing how
this is a single model, should only pay when you get something and are happy

definatly, why else do you think everybody wants to be the banker when we
people play monoply? sure isn't because of the thrill of responsibility.
And how do you think so many £500 bills keep on popping up? because cheating
is the greatest part of any game! ^_^
and my guess for a possible way around it, would be to have a php script
that only allows a certain op to download a certain texture, that way, only
you can see your cards, no matter what. would probably take alot of work
