Thanks Lightform, you said it the way I meant it.....I did not say what I
said to be attacked.....I said it as a general comment.....I do not come
into these discussions to argue which seems to be the thing most like to do
here.....I know Americans are very patriotic, and hate if anyone says
anything about them but I have never meant offense....I travel alot and do
meet many different cultures and have always loved americans because of
their 'hard headedness' LOL.....do not fault me for my beliefs, most of my
beliefs are from actually traveling 48 of the 50 states in a van, sleeping
in rest areas, meeting the people of the USA .....Americans do have an
'attitude' but that is not all bad.....we all need a little 'attitude' in
our lives.....Sorry people like Lioness and Carolann and a few others have
to take everything so litteraly as to attack my education or just open their
mouths to hear themselves talk ....I am educated in the ways of school and
the ways of life.....life being meetng people and getting to know different
cultures.....you Lightform seem to be the only one that caught the gist of
my message......and yes I DO HATE FIGHTING.....so this is last I will say on
this subject and Americans in general....since some Americans take offense
so easily and read things into letters that are not there.....

US Flag

In the Olympics, Americans flew our Canadian flag upside down by
mistake.....we did not take it as an act of war LMAO although some were very
upset here about the disrespect shown. Apologies were made, apologies
accepted and life went on.
The flag is not only a symbol of the people....It is a symbol of
cooperation.
Our flags can all fly together, as long as we respect the rules, regulations
and customs of the other flags. And why not? We are all a bit different,
isn't that what makes this world interesting? Isn't that also what makes AW
interesting?

Microsoft and cars.

Dec 4, 2003, 2:20am
At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the
computer industry to the car industry and stated:

"If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry, we would
all be driving twenty-five dollar cars that get 1000 miles to the gallon."

In a response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release
stating:

"If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving
cars with the following characteristics:"

1. For no reason whatsoever your car would crash twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines on the road you would have to buy a
new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason, and you
would just accept this, restart and drive on.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn, would cause
your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to
reinstall the engine.

5. Only one person at a time could use the car, unless you bought "Car95"
or "CarNT". But then you would have to buy more seats.

6. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, reliable, five
times as fast, and twice as easy to drive, but would only run on five
percent of the roads.

7. The oil, the water temperature and alternator warning lights would be
replaced by a single "general car default" warning light.

8. New seats would force everyone to have the same size butt.

9. The air bag system would say "Are you sure?" before going off.

10. Occasionally for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and
refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned
the key, and grab hold of the radio antenna.

11. GM would require all car buyers to also purchase a deluxe set of Rand
McNally road map (now a GM subsidiary), even though they neither need nor
want them. Attempting to delete this option would immediately cause the car'
s performance to diminish 50% or more. Moreover, GM would become a target
for investigation by the Justice Department.

12. Every time GM introduced a new model car, buyers would have to learn
how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in
the same manner as the old car.

13. You'd press the "start" button to shut off the engine.

GK's

Dec 16, 2003, 10:57pm
Sitting wondering of the state of aw..watching the cits leave one by one.
GK's are supposed to be there to keep things G as possible, yes I understand
this but I find they are acting more like moms lately than aids. Nobody
likes to go into a room and to be constantly be told what to say or not to
say to extremes (with no set rules I may add). Sure there are children
around but there are ALSO adults. Recently I was ejected for disagreeing
with a GK although I used no abusive language etc. New arrivals are told not
to talk...not to chat in a chat room - no discussions, no politics, no
debates, no nothing. Then they are told if they want to chat (already not a
great impression of a chat room) they must go to other worlds. They get
there and they are all empty. Why? because the Main Chat Room is a bore.
With so many GK's instead of helping the new arrivals are too busy worrying
about what might be talked about that all we are allowed to talk about now
is how the weather is or what we ate for dinner.
And with GK fever breathing down everyone's neck, the tourists and possible
new cits get bored and leave and worse yet is the wanna-be gk's that also
macro and throw rules at everyone.
I confronted elven princess once at the Gate about her over ambition and
found out that she is not even here long enough to be considered for GK
service. I did wonder how a 353,000 number could be considered and I have
noticed an influx of high number, high cit number, over ambitious, bad
typists that are now the representatives of AW.
It is long overdue for a complete restructuring of the rules and regulations
of the Gate and GateKeepers if it hopes to survive in the chat world.

GK's

''Hopefully, the more populated AW becomes, the easier it will be to enjoy
chatting in a well populated area away from the gate that can spark the
interest of a more mature crowd.''

WAKE UP. AW is dying. Too many restrictions and pricing has made people
turn elsewhere for 'fun'. The Gate is only an indication of 'control' not
fun. Gives the incoming adults the idea the program is only for children
(and therefore dull) and gives the children the idea that is just a bunch of
parents telling them what to do and what not to do. THAT IS NOT CHAT

GK's

Dec 19, 2003, 3:07am
It may be only 5 minutes (which is another of my peeves - not advising us
when ejected on the notice, for how long it is for - aw fault) but it is a
matter of principle. I have also been aimed at and ejected instead of
another and yes found it funny, telling the GK he should go to shooting
school. (He actually shocked me and apologized in open chat for his error -
something in all years here have not heard a GK do - admit an error and
actually apologize out loud for that error (thereby clearing the person's
name as troublemaker, openly LOL)
Would you not complain about false arrest as well? In real life? They are
the 'Law' here and being ejected falsely goes against the grain, even if
only 5 minutes.
Not only me but others (including our visitors) take a boot up the rear as
insulting, when without just cause, whether in vr or real life. It is what
the 'boot' represents time-out given to a child or 'prison time' given to an
adult. Yes is only vr, but don't we all carry our real life emotions with us
when we come? We are human.

An idea, for everyone

Dec 18, 2003, 9:02pm
Without use of bad language my friend was ejected from the gate for saying
aw was too expensive. I was ejected for complaining of his ejection. Also
without use of any bad language or 'trouble making'. Legitimate questions of
the rules of the Gate (which is what GK are supposed to do - answer our
questions about how AW works). When we came back and again complained, we
were 'attacked' by approx 4 undercover offduty GK (as we all know is now a
GK room not a chat room - too many chiefs and not enough indians LMAO). Then
we were told by the on duty GK that is we had a complaint to write to AW
(like that does anything) then we were both ejected again.
Raising havoc? I think not. I call it standing up for rights and stating
immediately to the person I have trouble with my feelings on my being
mistreated. Maybe an old hippie but I do feel we have the right anywhere to
state our opinions - within the guidelines of course *grins

An idea, for everyone

Dec 18, 2003, 9:11pm
In actual fact he said that aw was a rip off because of price. He was
whispered to by De De Cyber Mom to not cause trouble. His response was in
open chat asking her not to whisper to him, to speak out loud. Correct,
polite. For this he was ejected. Not so much his saying aw was too expensive
as the fact that he asked her not to whisper and she took offense and
ejected. Where is that in the guidelines that asking a GK not to whisper is
ejectable. It was his right NOT to be whispered.
Yes we need some rules but should they be able to make them up and use their
power abusively because their 'feelings' got hurt?

I know it may sound funny, but having a high IQ is not really an indication
of intelligence. It is how you use that IQ that shows your smarts. Walking
around saying 'I have a high IQ and am smarter than you' is not very smart
and is sure to make others think you are actually 'a dummy with a high IQ'
LOL
Having a high IQ does give you the ability to be intelligent if used right.
It gives you the ability to lower your IQ in certain situations, not using
long words knowing the persons will not understand, just to show how smart
you are. It gives you the ability to adust your words and actions to fit the
people you are with. It gives you the ability to not intimidate people with
your high IQ and to actually fit in. There is nothing worse than a missused
or abused IQ.

Last night my man came in and was really upset. The swear words were flying
fast. Did I consider this potty-mouth? No, he needed to vent. The use of
these words only stressed to me how upset he was.
I noticed that each time he swore the word was replaced with ..... When I
asked was told it was the hotel censor. That made me think
The Gate can never be (nice idea but not reality) G-rated as it stands and
some parents may even have the right to sue AW for declaring that room as G.
G rated means not ever being exposed to offensive language etc. Yes the bot
ejects, but the fact is those words are seen by the children before the
ejection. At best the Gate (with the bot ejecting) should call itself PG. To
be true and to be legal. With people coming and going there is no way it can
be kept G. You can try but the odd word will slip in, therefore making it
completely non-G

Am still chuckling about the words potty mouth and could not resist one last
post
1. for you potty mouths out there that still have a sense of humour this
holiday season, click on the following url then on the words Ho Ho F......
Ho - enjoy
2. for you mild eccentrics that do not like the F word but still have a bit
of a sense of humour - click with care.
3. for anyone under 18, ignore the following url or ask you mom if you can
listen to a bunch of smut first.
4. for all the non-potty-mouths out there do not click the following url

the censoring from hotel was instant. Any word he said I received '....' and
in trying when I swore he received the same. Due to the bad news last night
I did not go into it much with him as certainly was not the time to discuss
his language and hotel censoring. It did make me think though that if that
technology is available to a hotel, declaring and enforcing the G rating on
their computers, could not such technology be used here? If Aw wants to
declare a room G, it should have the technology to enforce that G or put it
as a simple PG room (which I don't think kids should be on internet anyway
without guidance - but that is a whole other can of worms).

E N Z O wake up your citizenships R dying, we are trying to save your ship!!

Nov 25, 2003, 3:04am
We seriously considered all the options before renewing our world for its
3rd anniversary. For the first time we considered actually letting it all
go, being so dead here. But it is our one love and have put alot of work
into our world over the years. We did wish larger as each year we have
increased our size a bit, but not this year, it is just too expensive. We
did lower our visitors from 10 to 5 to save costs, considering aw is so
dead lately is almost a waste for a small world to pay for extra visitors.
Although completely against having to pay for tourists as feel we are
'advertising' to them what they could do if citizen, it is unfortunately a
necessary evil as so many of the old cits can no longer afford the prices
(oooh so many have gone) but still visit as tourist once in awhile. We
decided this was necessary to leave our doors open for old friends of AW.
Not only does AW not help our finances (and LOL never expected that anyway)
we were surprised to see that our renewal date for next year is no longer
Nov 12, it is now Nov 11.....AW has claimed the leap year day next year as
theirs. Is there anything so cheap as that, that they cannot give us one
free day and continue our renewals as they were, considering we did renew a
world.....Maybe I am just being picky : )
Do the small world owners expect help from AW? Hell, no LMAO

Sound range limit...

Dec 13, 2003, 2:01pm
one fault I have noticed is that if the sound is if installed up say at 350m
in the air, it is heard down at gz....the sound range seems to be a cone
that althogh horizontally can only be heard about 10m, vertically there
doesnot seem to be a limit.....someone passing over the spot on ground level
that I have an implanted sound -300m down will load and hear it.....yet
someone -300m down will not hear it if they walk out of the 10m range on
that level....has made for some creative create sounds (using bumps to start
sounds more often because of my building in levels)....
