Last night my man came in and was really upset. The swear words were flying
fast. Did I consider this potty-mouth? No, he needed to vent. The use of
these words only stressed to me how upset he was.
I noticed that each time he swore the word was replaced with ..... When I
asked was told it was the hotel censor. That made me think
The Gate can never be (nice idea but not reality) G-rated as it stands and
some parents may even have the right to sue AW for declaring that room as G.
G rated means not ever being exposed to offensive language etc. Yes the bot
ejects, but the fact is those words are seen by the children before the
ejection. At best the Gate (with the bot ejecting) should call itself PG. To
be true and to be legal. With people coming and going there is no way it can
be kept G. You can try but the odd word will slip in, therefore making it
completely non-G

Am still chuckling about the words potty mouth and could not resist one last
post
1. for you potty mouths out there that still have a sense of humour this
holiday season, click on the following url then on the words Ho Ho F......
Ho - enjoy
2. for you mild eccentrics that do not like the F word but still have a bit
of a sense of humour - click with care.
3. for anyone under 18, ignore the following url or ask you mom if you can
listen to a bunch of smut first.
4. for all the non-potty-mouths out there do not click the following url

I have often wondered WHY the G rating macro is posted immediately AFTER a
person has been ejected for swearing. The offender certainly won't see it,
and everybody else left in The Gate start to giggle and say, "buh BYE!!"
"Have a nice stay in the Blue Room" "the CA got another one!"

You are right, sweets. The damage has already been done.

I have thought and pondered upon this quandry. I wonder if the chat in The
Gate could be put on a 5 second delay? Like live radio talk shows do. Is
that even "do-able"? Do we have the technology?
Also - the CA needs *her* programming updated!!! It needs the m*sked c*ss
w*rds added, too. OY VEY!!! Just think of all the variables for THAT!!!

Advertising The Gate as G rated is a "potty mouth magnet". *sighs* Morons
will continue to flood into The Gate just to shock ppl with their outrageous
language.

the censoring from hotel was instant. Any word he said I received '....' and
in trying when I swore he received the same. Due to the bad news last night
I did not go into it much with him as certainly was not the time to discuss
his language and hotel censoring. It did make me think though that if that
technology is available to a hotel, declaring and enforcing the G rating on
their computers, could not such technology be used here? If Aw wants to
declare a room G, it should have the technology to enforce that G or put it
as a simple PG room (which I don't think kids should be on internet anyway
without guidance - but that is a whole other can of worms).
