Yes, no disrespect intended Elven Princess, but people who complain
about you considering them troublemakers are usually complaining because
they don't consider themselves troublemakers. I don't know anything
about any of the issues, but have to actually stopped to consider wether
any of your ejections MIGHT just have been unfair?

And since when was AWGate a representation of America? Are all the GKs
American? I think not...

Since the problems seem to begin when you try and help sort out
troublemakers, don't do that anymore. But there's no reason why you

I agree with all your points sweets and Ferruccio's points as well. It's
time for GKs to stop getting all defensive as if we are critisising them
for the rules. We ALL understand why the gate needs an amount of censorship.

However, protesting will probably just make us look like "What about
FREE SPEECH?!?!" fools.

Although, if AWGate is merely a starting point for tourists, why are
there teleports to non-tourist worlds?

In my opinion there are only really a few simple improvements that need
to be added to the Gate and GK system:

- Teleports to non-tourist worlds should removed, or placed into a
harder to reach section that new cits can be guided to. Teleports to
*all* tourist worlds of G/PG rating should be added.

- GKs macros, are, as you say, complicated. I also see
grammatical/spelling errors in a lot of them, which at best makes AW
look less sophisticated and at worst gives newbies misleading advice. I
also think GKs need to become less reliant on their macros; I frequently
see GKs posting a macro about something irrelevant and possibly
confusing to the newbies just because they see certain keywords (e.g.
whisper) in the chat.

- People who complain about their ejections need to stop being
automatically branded as troublemakers trying to get their ejection
removed. The eject complaints actually need to be listened to, possibly
with a committee set up to screen out troublemakers trying to get back
and to tell GKs if they think they follow the rules a little closely to
the letter.

- Put that windmill from the old gate back! ;¬)

Exactly Ant. I went with them to protest what I see as problems in the

Even people that haven't been having problems with over-censorship at
the gate.

Chat at AlphaWorld GZ. When you see AWGate top of the list, override it
in your mind. If there is nobody there, invite your friends in the gate
to AlphaWorld GZ.

AWGate is turning into a nursery school. We can't protest against the
problem (many of you probably don't even think there is a problem) but
we can avoid it. It is within our power to make AlphaWorld GZ the top
place for chat again!

As for posting here, is it really appropriate for tourists to post
here? They are welcome to read to get a better idea of what AW's
community is like but until they register they're not officialy part
of the community.

Also, consider this, if tourists could post here, we would get more
'kiddie posts' (eg "**** you all you ******** nee*******
*************..." - the kind of stuff you get from some newbies at the
Gate) and it would be a lot harder for AW to ban people. If only
registered citizens can post then it's a lot more likely that people
who contribute to the newsgroups actually care about AW's community
and not just showing off how many cuss words they can fit in a post.
