Preston question which should be in bots but gets more replies in here.......

Jun 3, 2001, 3:43am
Is there a way that I can tell Preston to take something from what I tell it
and put it into a command? so it would be like if I have an ad I want to be
changed every 1/2 hour and I want to say to Preston /set ad
http://the_ad's_url_here.com and have Preston change a command(s) to that
url? if you don't get it just e-mail me and I will show you what I mean at
the place where I want it to happen.

Yes i know it should be in the bots. But one little question for you. Have
you ever been in there lately? It is DEAD! I mean completely DEAD! So, since
this is like the only NG that is being used, It would help me more to put it
in here. So please think before you talk.

Preston question which should be in bots but gets more replies in here.......

Jun 3, 2001, 5:24pm
Okay, what is your definition of Community? To me it is anything dealing
with Active Worlds. We are the community, I am in the community. Therefore I
have every right to post anything I want here. It is a open NG anything can
be posted about anything. They just have the other NGs so they look special.
This is pretty much the only Active NG. Okay, so people read the bots NG?
Look at some of the worlds in Active Worlds I bet when you are looking for
some to chat with you go to the worlds with a lot of people in it right?
Well same on the NGs, When I want someone to answer my question I go to the
NG that has the most people in it.

An interesting question

Jun 23, 2001, 3:17am
Im sory my fellow citizens. I must agree with facter on this one. Look what
they have done. They have tried to make it best as possible. Imagine if we
didn't have ANY PKs. One words, chaos. They must handle many, many people's
complains each day. I mean, I have had my bad times with them but they have
donated a world for my Mole 1.(They wont donate one for Mole 2..... >:|)
They have also tried to help with us as much as we can. I mean, you want to
make money! If stuff starts to cost more, they must increase the price to
make a profit! I wouldn't like to work and not get paid for what I am
doing?! They must try but I guess we will never know.....since this is the
endless debate...........

want to deal with AW anymore they should just sell it to someone who will
and actually DO something with it instead of letting it flounder in VERY

The Mole 2

Jun 27, 2001, 5:52am
Hello. I will be holding my Mole 2 soon. If you haven't seen The Mole 1 or
The mole on television you might want to check out this fun event. in The
mole we take 8 normal people who signed up to play in The Mole. Then we take
a smart, stelthy Mole and put him/her up against the other 8 players. All 9
players must undertake "Missions" to make the final reward better. But, our
secret Mole is trying to stop them from completing the "Missions". Sounds
fun doesn't it :-). Well, after each test the remaining players must take a
"test" about The Mole. The person with the lowest score on this "test" is
out of the game. This process continues on untill there are only 3 players
left. Then they will take the final "test" to see who is the grand champion
of The Mole 2!

First place prize for The Mole 2 will be a P-20/5 world donated by Mike
Zimmer. Second place will be a advertisement right at AWTeen GZ. Thank You
AWTeen core for donating this. The Mole gets a free years citizenship if no
one scores a perfect score on thir test. If someone so happens to get a
perfect score, The Mole will only recieve a 3 month extension.

The Mole 2 is planned to be on July 7th at 4:00pm VRT. The location of the
HQ where most of the "tests" will take place and new mission info will be is
in world AWTeen at 890N 985W. This plans to last 4 hours at the most, with
each "Mission" being 25 minutes long. I hope to see you at this fun and
exciting event, and maybe the spectators will get some part in this also ;-)

Reunion Idea?

Jul 1, 2001, 3:36am
I have a idea of having a reunion over by me and many other AW users who
cant go to the Vegas or Portland reunion. I was thinking of having it maybe
by Gurney Mills, Illinois. We could go to Six Flags, go to the museums and
cool place in Chicago or whatever. Just a though since I can't make it to
the ones WAY over on the other side of the country. I would help organize
this if anyone wanted to try it since I know a lot of AW users for Canada
and New York or so. Hope you keep this in mind.

-Mike Zimmer

Happy Birthday, ActiveWorlds!!!

Okay, lets all stop the arguing and just be thankful that AW has lasted so
far! And I am not that new of a newbie, i just left for a couple years, some
of you might remember me as Judge It

Low vs High cit numbers

Jul 2, 2001, 4:02pm
Hey! I am 330838 and not too many ppl don't like me. But yes, there are some
n00bs, i must agree.
[View Quote]

And you wonder.....

Jul 2, 2001, 11:08pm
One question for you all. Why do you suppose AWCom doesn't listen to you and
be like they are? Well maybe you should take a look at yourselves rather
than putting your face up in AWcoms! All you people do is whine and moan
about it! If I were Facter or a AWCom member I would DEFINITLY get sick and
tired of you guys. You yell, complain and argue with them! Your lucky that
someone of them even respond to you. Untill you learn to maybe shut up and
wait and see what comes instead of yelling and wanting everything done YOUR
way, AWCom might actually do something for you. Well thats all for today The
Weakest link is on and that is definitly a lot more interesting than
listening to your whiners moan and groan about AWCom.

And you wonder.....

Jul 2, 2001, 11:57pm
Hmmm, that looks like most of it is about you. I don't think I was talking
about you, we all know why they don't listen to you.

Okay, point taken. But just when I came in, the only thing I saw was

Townbuilders newsgroup idea

Jul 14, 2001, 12:45am
Do you really want the NGs to be down for another 2 weeks?

[View Quote] 1. This shall be a place for towns-related matters.
2. Why does worldbuilders get its own newsgroup while townbuilders don't?
3. This shall be a place for towns advertising and etc.
4. This shall be good place to talk about towns-related matters away from
burning newsgroup building (meaning a center for flaming posts)

I'm sure SW Comit, SW Chris, Syntax, CMM, KAH, Moff Piett will support this.
SW Comit and his staff were builders of city called SW City, while I know
KAH had built town, while Moff Piett had told me it was good idea. And also
Goober King would like this place since his organization is for towns and
cities. And surely will AWCommunity Register support it. Yes I know this
community newsgroup may be good place for it but I'm tired and sick of
flaming, and all of this crap, so it's time to move all town-related matter
over to new place.

So please show your support for this petition, and I surely will thank you
for these support. Thank you. Have a nice day.

Size alone DOES determine content. If you have a really long text one, and
it has the SAME size as a HTML one, there IS no difference! You might as
well download the HTML one if you will download a text one of the same size

You did read it wrong. I said that a HTMl post with the same size as a Text
one means that they are the same size, correct? So, would you want to
download a pretty looking message or a plain black and white message?
