Notepad is a very nice, free program to write HTML. Trust me, learn to write
it in the code format and not using programs like Dreamweaver or something,
makes life a lot easier.
As for tutorials on how to write HTML - http://www.lissaexplains.com
It is aimed for kids, but it has a lot of information on it.
