Don't Look Now! It's...

Jun 11, 2002, 8:25pm
heh I usually only go after people who've been around a while *and* have
been posting consistently in here in recent months. Sproadic people
don't count as "regulars" :)

As for the other smileys, I haven't seen those used too much in here.
Something to think about for 4th edition, I guess :)

The apoligie to all citezens

Jun 18, 2002, 5:41pm
Two things:

1) There's this neat little invention that came out a while back that I
think could help you with your problem. It's called "punctuation"; look
into it.

2) You shouldn't have to post something like this in an NG. Instead,
only send it to the people you offended via email or telegram. Then
again, if you've offended so many people that it actually *requires* an
NG post, then you need more help than I can give you. :P

Hate to break it to you, fg, but this is exactly the place to exercise
my right to complain, just as it's your right to complain about my
complaining. As far as I'm concerned, it was "rude" of cyclone to post a
message that was most likely only intended for a few people out in a
public forum such as this, so I responded in kind.

And I'm not going to apologize because 1) it's obvious that he hasn't
even bothered to come back to these NGs after posting his message, since
he hasn't responded to anything and, 2) my post doesn't warrant such an
apology. I was simply pointing out the error of his ways. Not my fault
if you didn't like the delivery of it. Can't please everyone.

418 released: The Wall Comes Tumbing Down!

I don't know how it happened, but I somehow wound up installing Build

Calling ALL Math Wizards....

Jul 8, 2002, 10:24pm
Talk to SW Comit about that (if you can find him). He started up a
little organization a while back called the Community Linkage
Commission, which was responsible for building roads and roadsigns
between towns. (Of course, ever since phalaphe "took over", it has
ground to a dead stop. :P) If you look at the GK Expressway south of
Goobertown, you can see some of the mileage signs I put up for CLC. :)

I believe the virtual math is 1 coordinate equals 10 meters. You'll have
to convert that to miles, though, as I was never good at remembering
conversions. :-/

*sigh* Roland was not the idiot; it was the idiots above him that told
him to take it out. He was just following orders. You looking to take
Rick's job or something? :P

Seemed to recall he said it during some Tech Talk or other that it was
management's idea. I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time :P).

And, even though you may have "cleaned up" your act, it's nice to see
that some things don't change. ;)

[View Quote] > Where did you hear it was "management" (Rick and JP) who wanted fast turning removed? I've only ever read it as Roland himself arbitrarily taking it out because HE didn't like it--as if a last-ditch "rebellious" outburst against the oppressive management or something--perhaps me. Note: I'm the one who suggested it in the first place. ;)

AWLD independent director vote results?

Jul 12, 2002, 11:47pm
http://old.edgarpro.com/edgar_conv_html/2002/07/12/0001116502-02-000961.html

That's the long version. Still trying to figure out what it all means.
For instance, it says that Rick and JP are still CEO/CFO of
Activeworlds, Inc. (a Nevada company), which is a subsidiary of
ActiveWorlds Corp. (a Delaware company). How does that make sense?!

Ok, think I managed to decipher it, or at least get all the important parts into perspective. Too bad there's never a business lawyer around
when you need one! :P

Bad Time for 3D....

Jul 18, 2002, 9:43am
One big thing you missed: Dynamic Content! How is anyone supposed to be
able to build anything if you can't download it? AW, by its nature, is a
dynamic, online venture, and no matter what, you have to download
content in real time. Otherwise, you'd have to download a patch every
time someone builds something!

And I'm not sure why you're so hooked on EA. Sure, they make sports
games, but last I checked, AW is not a sports game. If you really want a
gaming company to hook up with AW, you need a company that has
experience in dealing with online, multi-player games (Everquest, Ultima
Online, Halflife:Team Fortress, etc.).

In any case, I don't really think putting it in a box on the shelf will
really make any difference in terms of immigration. As Casay stated, you
first need to have content before you can advertise for it, and putting
it in a box is a form of advertising.

But do they make any online, multi-player games? That was my original
point, after all... :P

Hey, Flagg! Nice to see you jump into the fray. Will this be a regular
occurrence? :)

Corection: E N Z O and JP own AW now!

Jul 14, 2002, 11:07pm
I would suggest *anything* else! XNews, Eudora, Netscape, Mulberry, etc,
etc. Just do a search for newsreaders, and you'll find plenty to chose from.
