I've gone with "Universe Login" which is sorta similair to your suggestion,
Tony. Don't wanna say settings, because when you are in the settings dialog, it becomes rather redundant to say settigns in the list. Thanks for the help. :) [View Quote] --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). One of the things I've not seen mentioned here (although I haven't read
all 4000+ messages yet) that I'd like to see if the ability to restrict citizens from my world with something other than eject. I was thinking something along the lines of putting a - (minus) in front of the citizen's number in the Enter field of the world rights would forbit there entrance, but still allow everyone else in. Obviously this does nothing for keeping out certain tourists (although you could keep put all tourists with -0, but that wouldn't really be a nice thing to do.), or citizens that enter your world as a tourist, but it could help a bit with troublemakers. As long as they could be turned off at will. AW is slow enough as it
is, but if it had to decode an MP3 at the same time, it would probably make some of the older machines look like this. (Wraps a hand around his throat and makes gurgling noises.) However, I've never ran AW and had Winamp (www.winamp.com) play an MP3 at the same time. Maybe I should try it. A way to better devide avatars in the avatars list.May 31, 2000, 1:35pm

Itr has been two versions; new contact list features in 3.3, and 3.4 just
released. Time to start in for 3.5. Heh. [View Quote] Down ControlJun 27, 2003, 3:37pm
Yes, and the bot be able to force an object or the av list to refresh for
people. This could lead to some cool possibilities for game worlds. [View Quote] Avatar Side Strafing?Aug 14, 2003, 5:11pm
Perhaps what he is seeing is simply the modifier key that must be held along
with the turning keys to sidestep. Shift by default. Try setting keys for "Move Left" and "Move Right", right under the keys for turning. They will let you sidestep in that direction with a single key. My preference is the NumPad1 and NumPad3. [View Quote] Avatar Side Strafing?Aug 15, 2003, 3:10pm
Yeah, but I never got used to those other keys on the NumPad, besides the
arrows, in AW. I've been itching for years to match my AW keybindings to those I developed a love for in games. [View Quote] day to night system such as morrowind?Aug 15, 2003, 3:07pm

New backdropsJul 11, 2001, 4:09pm
IS there an URL to something that tells you about the new features and keeps
you updated on the progress of 3.2, like I remember there being for 3.0? Or do you have to attend the Tech Talks you get the poop? "moff piett" <piett at home.com> wrote unfortunatly those sorts of backdrops will be out-dated when 3.2 comes out... oh well. Domain Names?Aug 28, 2001, 1:41am
Try www.000domains.com. $13.50/year, good support, full control of your
account, ICANN accredited, and can purchase from 1 year to 10. I've heard complaints about almost any registrar out there, but this one. Well, there was one guy, but he wanted technical support to answer him in 10 minutes by email. It can and does happen, but expecting it every time is just asking too much. 3.2 Splash ScreenSep 30, 2001, 10:27pm
Anyone else notice that the release of 3.2 still says beta on the splash
screen? Although 3.2 seems to have lots of bugs (according to others; I've had no problems as yet) like a beta, but since it's been release I presume it's not a beta any longer, right? I never liked the 3.x series splash screens anyway, so I found a nice 3D rendered nature scene and now use it instead. -- Percipient WARNING M A T T IS BACK!Jun 17, 2002, 2:20pm
Actually, all they'd need to do is replace their encrypted password in their
aw.ini file with the encrytped one they stole, and let the AW browser decrypt it for them. -- Percipient "dion" <GovDion at subdimension.com> wrote... first of all, it'd take one heck of a programmer to figure that out. And even if they did, they'd only have your password that is encoded with sa bunch of crap. You'd have to know how to decrypt it as well, which includes lots of other computer information. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). A friend of mine had this same problem a short time ago. She was not
running 3.0b. Just on a hunch, I suggested she drag the chat scrollbar all the way to the bottom--like it is suposed to work in the beta. She says that it worked right after that--or at least for the rest of that night. I don't know if this will do you any good, but if it worked for one person, it might work for another. I have an Active Worlds -- and related universes -- project I'm working
on, but I'm stumped on one part of the name. What would you call all of the universes, based on the Active Worlds software, as a whole. I mean, it sounds pretty lame and uncreative to just call them "the Universes." It needs something with more kick. Your suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry, I'm not ready to let anyone know just what the project is, at this point. It's still just in the planning stages. I'm sure most of you wouldn't do this, but if I gave away my idea too early, someone might grab it, put up a cheap rendition of my idea, and then lessen the appreciation of my work. Anyway, thanks in advance for your ideas and info. Percipient What Do You Call the Universes Collectively?Feb 19, 2001, 9:59pm
