Exactly, perfect water refracts light the same way air does. Just at a much more
sharp angle. At least according to our eyes.

[View Quote] Same with air, air movement refracts light differently as well. (not nearly on the
same scale) But it is pure water... and the overly that is used is perfect to make
it seem like water.

Light travels equidistant in air and in water. What your eyes pick up is another
story. Are we concearning with ROYGBIV or actually with light itself? Xrays travel
through water quite well. Still, this isn't really "murky" water. It's just water.

Good job, but xrays are light too. Xrays can pass through some matter and not
others.

> 2. Water is denser than air ... therefore more molecules per volume.

So is glass.

> 3. More molecules per volume ... more light blocked.

Glass has more molecules per volume than water or air, it's a solid.

> 4. More light blocked ... less light reflected by the object reaches the

So you're talking about visible light again?

> 5. Less light reaches the eye ... the harder it is to see the object.

Right, depending on the condition of the water.

> 6. The harder it is to see the object ... the less the volume of matter

What about glass? So by your theory Silicion dioxide should block even more light
(which it doesn't).

> 7. Less volume of water ... object and eye are closer together.

Depending on the medium that connects your eye to the water, if it's more airlike,
it'll be refracted more.

> Ergo ... You can't see as far in water as you can in air. Now repeat

Depending on which light wave we're talking about, and also which eyes we're talking
about.

[View Quote] Very good, we'll argue silicon dioxide is a solid and therefore has it's molecules
packed closer together than water. So your theory about they density of the
molecules stopping it is flawed. It's the organiziation. And Silicon dioxide,
water, and air all share a common organization. Therefore none of them stop light
any more than the other, they just refract it at different angles.

Re: Water is not accurate

[View Quote] Because all it's based on organization of the molecules. The only thing that's
different in air, water, or glass is organization... and the densities of glass and
air are completely different. So if light distance were based on
volume/density/whatever glass would stop light just like a brick would. But it
doesn't, neither does water. The only thing water does different from air or glass
(which refracts at nearly the same angle as air, so you don't "see" a difference) is
refract it at a very obvious angle. This causes the light to bed, therefore it
changes the wavelength, therefore human eyes don't see it as well. But, it does not
stop light like you said.

Theoretically if you had pure water with no molecular motion, you would see just as
far in water as you would in air. Of course you're also going to need to have the
light energy originate in the water itself. The reason why everything looks odd in
air and water is because light travels from air to water. But if it didn't do that
it would also be perfectly fine. But I never mentioned that the light source needed
to be out of water originally.

Ok, first you want to make sure you switch from DX8 mode to software mode before you
get into linux.

Once you get there mount the windows partition and remember where you mounted it too.
I'll assume you know how to do this and then I need you to send me the user's config
wine file and the place where you mounted the windows partition like /mnt/win32/.
It's been a while and I need a refresher ;)

try this one... I assume you mounted the partition into /win98/

[View Quote] Well why didn't you say so. Plus you have to tell me where you're mounting this...
and you're probably using the wrong partition type. NTFS cannot be written to in
Linux. This causes big problems with WINE. I'd assume that it's causing it with
this problem.

Have you tried to run progman.exe either? :) I'm setting a followup to a more

[View Quote] Wow I'll let you believe that since you're _always_ right. I see nothing in there
that explains your point at all. Good try. Just that lenses cause flares; the more
complex, the more complex the flare.

But wait, there's more; tell me what's in your eye and how it works and I may give
you partial credit for correctness. Maybe you'll even be able to tell me why I'm
right or you're wrong.

[View Quote] Then your concuring with Agent1 is false. "it can occur in a single lens" Therefore
you agree with me and not him, he said it cannot happen at all.

[View Quote] Wrong again, lense flare does occur with single lense systems. You don't have to
"claim" something for it to be true or for people, including yourself, to think such.

>
> I see nothing anywhere that explains your point at all.

Then by your assumption, I'm equally right. Including that your "proof" only states
that lense flares occur. Also noting that everyone, even BinaryBud, agrees that
single lense systems also cause the flares. The flare is a different type then we
see with photographs, but it is a flare nonetheless

give you partial credit for correctness.
>
> There's no need to be a patronizing ass. I know how the eye works and that it does
not cause a lens flare. If you don't believe me I really don't care because I know I
am correct.

Sorry, I know I am correct because it's the real answer. No need to insult me
because I am. The eye creates a lens flare via the refraction (yes refraction) due
to the angle of entry and the length of focusing that the muscles of your eye have
done with the lens. This will "distort" the image on the retina and cause a flare of
sorts.

> That's impossible since you're wrong.

And you're always right whenever you argue apparently.

stick to new posts... old posts are removed from peoples newsgroups most often.
Unless they have a sudden urge to be packrats like KAH and myself. This is a
newsgroup and usually posts over 3 weeks are considered "resolved" by that point.

Re: Sun Feature

Different type of flare then what you see with the eye. The flares the human eye
"sees" is more along the lines of a corona than a photographic multi-sectioned flare.

Redirectable World Names

Couldn't a bot do that just as easily?

[View Quote] Yeah if $10 = $20 maybe. You need a world license for both worlds too, that's
another $120. Then you need world hosters and bot hosters if he doesn't have
broadband. So in the end, quite a bit more than running a bot.

That's a little far-fetched. The wishlist is for the browser and sdk itself, not
things made from the sdk. Unless I'm mistaken. General.discussion would be more
appropriate. I think there's even a BBS for it that ima made?

Collision detection glitch, they can't solve it though from my position unless they
