Heh, interesting this topic comes up at this time.
I was talking with 9 9 9 tonight about special command work-arounds and he
said they will work up until the next database rebuild, which is what
usually happens when the server crashes or the database becomes corrupt. I
think it will totally prevent anything with the current work-around codes in
AW from working what-so-ever which sucks bigtime considering all the amazing
stuff that has been built in AW with these "cheats."
Too bad, AWC. Why didn't you just enable it in the first place... *sigh*
Oh, and you don't need to worry about them knowing about the current codes
because they already know about 'em. They monitor people using the special
commands, so it's alright if you say 'em in here. Heck, this place is the
last place an AWC employee would look, and we all know that as a fact. ;-P

Hehe, NG Survivor here is almost exaclty like how the 1st and 2nd seasons
went in the real show. The first season, everyone was kinda new to the
game.. No one really knew what to do except a few. Second season comes
along. Everyone is trying to play reeaaalll nice except one or two other
players. There must be physics behind it.. ;-P
Anyway you guys, stop complaining! It's only a game. Ol' Wing forged the
hell outta his challenges in the 1st season and you could totally tell also.
Everyone was mad as hell at him so he got voted out. ;-P
Take your aggression to the playing field instead of giving up and quitting.
And quit picking on ol' Nornny guys! He's the one that's spending the most
time typing out everything and maintaining the website so you guys can have
an enjoyable game.

....would you just shut up Linn?
I don't even know WHY you posted this topic in the first place. Personally
I am happy that the Cy Committee is trying to do something about their
situation now and I have respect for that . They even go ahead and, like GK
already stated, let the community know whats going on ahead of time.
Goober King does his research on AW, as he's been around a hell of a lot
longer than you. He's been here for the Cy's since the start. Maybe you
should do your reasearch, Ironhead...
Your argument is pointless and real unclear. So maybe you should go pick
yourself up a Grade 7 grammar book, Mavis Beacon and a brain and come back
when your ready.
Anyone up for sacrificing Linn to get ol' Eep back? *raises hand* At least
he had valid points when posting opinions.. :-\

Everyone says filtering is the answer but all it does is leave the newsgroup

Unless there's some way for OE to delete replys under the filtered person's
posts, I'm not filtering anyone anytime soon. So in the meantime... *flame*

My god, wtf is up with you. Every post you made tonight was just hostility
towards someone else. Maybe you should take a break from the net for a
while and go socialize a little bit in real life. Maybe that will teach you

Why are you always so concerned with bandwidth? :-P It's no big

I'm on 56k and when I used to use Xnews (which imho still pales in
comparison to OE...hehe) it only took me about a minute to download the
community NG headers.
As for the bandwidth usage on AWI's side, I think they kinda expected that
it would be used, hence the reason they bought relatively good servers that
can handle a lot of hits. I don't think a few people downloading a couple
kilobytes of newsgroup headers will hurt much.
hehe, I've just came to a conclusion. We in the NG's are never satisfied!
We cried for some sort of moderator and now we have one. But now it takes a
couple of reindexes to do the job and people are up in arms. :-P True that
reindexing should be avoided, but right now I'll take any little consequence
to clean up the mess we call the community newsgroup.
