This is to inform the Community that as of November 5 th 2002 A1CT world
will be allowed to expire, shortly following on December 29th A!!!!!CT world
will be allowed to expire. It is not clear at this moment what will happen
to A!!CT world which expires December 15th 2002, but more than likely it it
will be allowed to expire. As my citizenship presently states> Immigration
Officer: Warning: your citizenship expires in 29 days. To extend your
citizenship, press the Renew button in the toolbar.. I doubt I will. "G"
rated worlds (other than AWTEEN have no place in AW) and neither do I! you
can count 7 worlds of mine out of here and all of my money as well. All cits
owned and paid for by me will be closed in the coming weeks.
As a paying CommunitY member, I would rather put my money in something where
people listen like mature adults.

We've seen this all before, temper-tantrums from "adults" who refer to
themselves in third-person. How do "G" rated worlds have no place in AW,
how do you have no place in AW? I don't get where you're going with all
this. Its very clear what will happen when you let your world expire... it
will expire! Have fun putting your money into, well... Better things? I
mean, you obviously spend a *lot* of money on AW, wouldn't it be better
spent other places?

I will quickly answer this as I have to head to work, 6 of my 7 worlds were
used as public "G" rated tourist enabled public build worlds. The 7th was
used by Xes as a public build world until he decided to showcase his own
creations there. That is why I posted here. I know no one cares about a
closed building world expiring, but most of my worlds all above P-20 size
were public building worlds.
Temper tantrums? No not at all, I just learned what means the most here in
the last year I was a world owner here. I care not to go into it, but I do
no this, I have been the most criticsized person in AW since my first month
of world owning. A!!CT is the most hated world and I listen to criticism
everyday from the community for running a "G" rated public build world. My
worlds generated money for AW too, what you all think AW donated this stuff
to me? Well think what you want...someoen gets a taste of what I have been
putting up with for a year and they get their way, trouble is my world never
did anything to hurt anyone, we actually made citizens out of a minimum of
150 tourists if not more, we actually went out of our way to convince people
to register. All I ever got was flames and critism! We never corrupted the
minds of anyone, we never discriminated against any race or culture (within
reason) we never banned adults or childern who acted civilized. We never
allowed content above the "G" rating of our world. We have a bot called Zbot
which is in global mode and ejects automatically when certain vulgor or
abusive worlds are used.
We try to have public events allowing all citizens to particpate in, we get
critisized that we are spaming our world. But it's ok for anyone else to
post their private worlds' events here!
Its OK for the community to post ANTI-A!!CT world or ANTI-MrBruce posts
which are personal attacks on ME! But its not OK for me to be a concerned AW
citizen about issues that affect us as a community! You all fail to forget I
pay AW's bills here to!
So be it, you want me out of here..My money goes to. I can spend my money on
a new computer or something. My 7 worlds plus 17 of my $6.95 cits are out of
here!
Wasted enough of my time on this. Its AW's loss not mine!

Look, you have the thanks of 150 new citizens. You have my support. You
have SW City's support. You have the support of your community that you
built from the ground up, which from my understanding is quite large! And
I'm sure you have the support from many many people who post here and don't.
You do a good thing for this community. And you care about it. Otherwise
you wouldn't be this flustered over what a few people think of you.
Shouldn't that be enough? Why are you going to throw all that away?

Yes, I understand that criticism frustrates you. But look at ENZO. This
guy's flame retardant suit is virtually disintegrated and he's still hanging
around. He didn't call it quits because he never got any recognition for
his efforts. And he has the thanks of many of us who are still here.
Personal attacks need to be taken lightly because hey, nobody really knows
you and who you are. Anybody who attacks your worlds are morons. That's
simple. They have their opinions, and that's all they'll be. Opinions.
And anybody in the public AW spotlight has to deal with that.

These are the two sides of the scale. And I think all of the silent support
that you have going outweighs all of the negativity towards you or your
worlds. So please, give it one more chance. After all, next year you're a
shoe in for the next CY Awards. :)

I never hated or criticized your worlds Bruce. I think they were great for
the community. Many people seemed to really like your world. Well, just
brush all those ignorant criticisms off your shoulder. You did a great thing
for AW despite what anyone thinks. *G* Good luck to you! :o))

Mr. Bruce--

Admittedly I haven't been to A1CT world very often, but when I have I was
very impressed by the ingenuity of its builders and quite pleased with the
fact it was a "G" world.

Now, that "G" means quite a bit to me. Besides the two servers a friend and
I ran in The Palace, which were "G", each of us now run our own worlds here
in AW (Amberlin and Nethland), both of which are "G" rated worlds!

Also, my Amberlin is a tourist friendly world (one in which I'm the sole
builder), being a G rated world is safe for kids, adults alike. I find this
to be one of the most important factors with most people coming into
ActiveWorlds.

Please don't give up, MrBruce, the Community of ActiveWorlds and it's
visitors still do need you. Even though I'm not a mother, I can appreciate
having a world that I know to be a G rated world and safe for kids exists.
I think you and your world do an incredible service for the Community of AW.
Please don't give up! We do need and support you!

Who ever said they were bad? Actually, I thought it was a good service to
offer. The only criticism I heard about your world, is that it was a
"spawning ground for newbie's" of sort. I do think what you have done is a
good thing, but packing up and leaving when the going gets tough, its just a
silly way out of it. Just because you don't have 100% of community support,
doesn't mean that you just just got nuts and run away.

Well, from my perspective, A!CT has received little to no criticism. You're
a great model of what a privately-owned public world should be. I truly
don't know what is going on in the AWuniverse, if people are much harsher
towards your worlds there, but what I know is that your worlds have been
nothing but praised by the community, or at the very least, indifferent by
them.

Maybe there were one or two spam attacks by certain members once in a while,
but we all get that, and trust me in saying you did nothing wrong.

If it's about the Cys, which I think you're insinuating, I don't see at all
where A!CT fits into the whole scheme. I don't see what's wrong with having
a G rated world in the universe, there's a LOT of G rated people looking for
things to do, and a lot of them find it in your world. I don't think any of
the Cy flames here have personally attacked your world in any way, quite
possibly your opinions, but not your world. In which case, all you have to
do is NOT subscribe to the newsgroup. :)

But hey, I'm quite the radicalist too. :) If you want to shut down your
world, I have no right to stop you. I'm probably really ignorant to the
situation, but with the info I have, I don't think you should be doing it
for the reasons you stated. I think if people are going to be mean to you,
you shouldn't let them win.

On the other hand, I see your point. People need to be more civil and kind
or else more worlds are going to drop and NO one will have Cys, 3.4, or even
AW to fight about. In which case, you make a great martyr for the whole
situation.

Mr Bruce, I don't want you to leave. We need you in here. You are such a
generous person, and you do such a great service for this community. You
are a person who understands what community means, and you put your money
where your mouth is. This community desparately needs people like you.

I know how you feel. It's really tough to express your opinion, and have
people come back and say and do such vicious things in retaliation. I have
so admired you for speaking out, and having your say, despite the attacks on
you. You have great courage.

Please don't let a few vicious, self centered people, with bad hearts and
bad intentions get to you. I know it's hard, but you've got to rise above
it. Your stance is one of morality and caring for your fellow human
being -- you are above them. Know that in your heart. and please don't
leave.

Hi,

Having led a large G-rated public building world before, I can say from
experience that much criticism is directed at the leaders. Many of the
times, citizens both in and out of the world talk about how keeping the
world G-rated is "impractical" or how "real life" should be R-rated.

It took me two years to learn that the people who offer nothing but
criticism will always speak much louder than those who are satisfied with
the direction the world is going. It's the same with anything in life,
whether it be the steps a company is taking, the President's views on the
country, or a Caretaker's actions. The supporters will never speak loudly
because they're already happy with things they way they are - why should
they complain? People will avoid controversy wherever possible.

In short, for every one who complains and cause trouble, there's usually two
or three others who offer their silent support to you. Keep those people in
mind :)

they got criticized, the whole universe here would be empty!!!

I am very sad to hear your worlds are expiring and you are leaving. I have
always admired you for what you have done; it is something I have dreamt of,
but never had the money (and guts) to do. I have not heard any critizism
against you or your worlds among the people I hang out with, the only thing
might be the funny names we have sometimes speculated over.

I admit I have not always thought the same about society, law, religion etc,
and if I have offeneded you with something I have said I apologize. I
actually respect people with different opinions, although I sometimes attack
or make fun of what they believe in, but here is nothing personal in it. I
do not actually know why I do it, probably because I am interested in what
people really belive in, and to get it out from them one needs to be a bit
provocative sometimes.

I'm starting to develop a hatred for tourists. They seem to breed around the
area of A!!CT, Eliminate A!!CT, eliminate annoying tourists..... The ones
that talk to Customs Aide, go into other worlds asking where is the zbot the
ones that get in your face when they talk to you, the ones that follow you
around yelling BRAINS.....
I didnt really mind the world, but when tourists got opened in AWTeen, it
was like opening pandoras box.
I went to AWTeen as a safe house from the tourists, but now they are there.

Give some of them the benefit of the doubt. Think about how you were when
you first came to AW. Some tourists don't know that the Customs Aide is a
bot....and I didnt really care for your last post either....but you are
