Sound playing slow whilst using aw

Aug 4, 2004, 2:02am
I experience the problem on occasion, and I can make it recur in a particular world.

I'm using on-board sound; is this what you have too, Eep? Or do you have a separate sound card?

Just a note for those who want to try this: you will have to reinstall Windows as described by Microsoft in the article below.

If this is supposed to be for beta users... why is "Latest Browser" set to 553? :)

[View Quote] > This is a completely safe free hosting, you may even wish to change your PPW after we have the bot running, and we will never ask for your PPW unless we have to conduct new upgrades to the ChatRelayBot.

This may not be a good idea, since the CRB won't be able to get back in should it become disconnected from the universe during its operation.

As far as I understand the service, TheMask is offering it right now during the 3.1 beta period. If there's some demand for it, it may be continued after 3.1 is finalized.

No media in AlphaWorld???

Only "create url" and "create media" are disabled. "activate url" and "activate media" still work.

Problem with AW regarding huge links..

Sep 6, 2004, 3:49am
Yep, I got this to happen; thought it only happens with the Web Window configured to accept it.

Can't Remember

Sep 6, 2004, 3:02pm
While there isn't a specific program that I know of, the DOS command "DIR" can be used:

dir /b >list.txt

The "/b" switch will simply list each file, and all of this will go into a file called "list.txt".

[View Quote] > What's that program that takes all things inside a folder and outputs a list of their filenames to a text file?

new aw objects can't be found??

Sep 24, 2004, 8:11pm
1503 is an HTTP error if you see it in the context of a download warning; subtract 1000 and you get 503, which is an internal server error that can mean anything.

Looks like the CA was really lagging; it received all your chat messages in one block, which caused it to think you were flooding.

Off topic computer problem

Nov 12, 2004, 11:46pm
The overclocking would be rather obvious, to me, since his entire computer has essentially burst into flames; at factory settings, I don't think video cards explode with such force on a regular basis.

You more than likely have blown many important things on motherboard, possibly even the power supply. The system is essentially screwed; with luck, maybe your hard drive survived.

Some questions about the AW Browser

Nov 28, 2004, 12:03am
Panning reminds me of an ancient setting in version 2.1/2.2, where having it enabled caused the 3D view to "blur" slightly when turning (and strafing too?). This "panning" key is probably an ancient relic, since 3.x onward doesn't use it anymore.
