Fonts on Signs

Nov 5, 2002, 3:37pm
How about getting sharper text on signs first? Then im sure fonts would be a good idea, but the current signs lack enough clarity to use em effectivly.

mdone trigger

Nov 5, 2002, 3:37pm
Heck yes, that would allow us to use sync'd displays if the objects are built at differnt times due to connection speed (say my Fireworks bot), all the objects could be built then triggered at the same time perfectly, without using a rediculously complex Astart > Bump system on every avatar in the area, which is just as bad.

What would be even better would be a WHEN trigger, so for example:
Create sign bcolor=0 color=red; When mdone name=m_timerobject<create sign bcolor=0 color=green>

rating lock in browser

Nov 6, 2002, 3:29pm
Yes thats a good idea, but nothing forced. For example I sometimes need / want to visit X / R rated worlds, such as AW911 when it is open, as long as someone dosent do something stupid like demanding proof of age before allowing your browser to change its rating limit im fine with that :)

Host Citizenships

Nov 5, 2002, 3:37pm
It would be quite interesting if AWInc could introduce a form of Hosting Citizenship at a lower price, so people can buy them to use for their privilege password, and building etc, but not log onto the actual citizenship itself except change the privilege though a website or browser add on.

It would help the people who run larger building worlds that require several building citizenships, but who have had to cut back because of the price increases, so even if prices were half of what they were, people would still probably be purchasing more of them (hence AWI making a greater profit) and considering they cant (shouldn't) be able to be used as an actual login citizen it wont really be all that much trouble for AWInc to support these citizenship accounts.

What was the object before it was changed.

Nov 8, 2002, 4:28pm
It would be nice if the long int AW_OBJECT_OLD_NUMBER was set at AW_EVENT_OBJECT_ADD if the object was changed using AW_OBJECT_CHANGE as the number is already sent. This way we could find out what changed, which would be perfect for my World tracker bot for AWNewbie...

Tourist Access Shown in World Features

DumpImage

Nov 9, 2002, 10:55am
Allot of programs have automatic screenshot buttons, it would be nice if the AWB could have 1, and I cant imagine it taking longer than a few min to impliment.

Just when you press Alt + Ctrl + P to take a screenshot of the image window and save it to c:\active worlds\screenshots\image001.jpg

etc, or to another folder defined in the INI.

ToolTipText on lists

Nov 9, 2002, 12:35pm
It would be nice if the tool tip text for the contact list and world list etc changed so that it became whatever the mouse was over on them. To save having to scroll across to see all the details. 5 min feature, but highly usefull. Im tempted to put it in Beta but better not..

Browser + Server + SDK DataString command

Nov 12, 2002, 8:24pm
Ive noticed allot of the time that the browser, sdk, servers etc depend allot on the aw protocal, which while cute, requires allot of updating for each feature.

Id like to see a DataString command incorporated into the main AW system that would allow a large ammount of data to be set, sent, or recieved about a world, avatar etc in a single string.

For example, Custom Avatars...

You have a standard rick avatar with its textures applied onto its models.

'[<cAv(shirt=av_skin9.jpg,trousers=psy2.jpg)><msg(message='A security guard with flashy trousers')>]

The browser can take this single string, and then interprit its data directly saying that the avatar has a av_skin9.jpg texture for its body, and psy2.jpg for its trousers, while if you mouve your move over this Av it could say "A security guard with flashy trousers"...

Seems a decent idea, possable or not.. im unsure? The basic idea is for the string to be transfered, the clients at either end interprit it saving a tonne of protocal updates for every single feature.

Object Selection + World Features in Standalone Mode

Nov 13, 2002, 5:18pm
Most world owners would not apreciate you being able to right click objects in their worlds if you did not have building rights. But 3.4 wants its ability to move the darn things back!!!!!

Also, World features would be nice yes. But remember.. your not actually in a world ;)

More Telegram Options

Nov 13, 2002, 8:50pm
(And if AWI cant be bothered Andras's / Ananas's (whichever 1 made it, im not sure, those 2 confuzle me) Telegram 2 ASCII program should be shipped as standard in the installer package (if they give their permission) and should be accessable though the AW browser by a shortcut with arguments already set etc.

AW_OBJECT_TAG

Nov 13, 2002, 8:47pm
A little space to store extra info about an object would be very very much apreciated. Call it Tag or something such as on Objects in Visual Basic 6, .NET etc...

That way we dont have to risk having it show up when people put their mouse over the object (if we use the description) or mess up the action (if we use the action command box).

Just 50 bytes or something that can be used to give objects more interaction with bots, such as searching like...

if(aw_string(AW_OBJECT_TAG)=="GZ Base"){
/* This would identify the object as having GZ base on it
this feature could be very very very usefull if it could be used as
a name tag for the object as well as the standard create name.
*/
}

Flight Mode

Nov 16, 2002, 5:07pm
I think that AW should support a browser 'fly' mode, where a joystick can be plugged into the computer, and used to move about the enviroment as though you are in a plane. This would be cool.

SDK Wishlist

Nov 17, 2002, 10:49am
The following is my latest instalment of wishes for the SDK...

Multiple Queries: Having multi-query / multi-liveupdate facilities in the SDK to query 2 places at once.

AW_OBJECT_LOAD should be able to create tourist objects regardless of ED if permitted by world settings.

RUVAT / Coordinate Geometry

Nov 17, 2002, 12:58pm
It would be a welcome addition if the aw browser could incorporate RUVAT functions into the move commands for example...

Create move [(t)x (4t^2)y (4t^2)z] time=5 loop

To have the object move in a double parabolic curve along X and Z axis.

- Mark
Speaking of which I have a test on RUVAT on monday >_<
