A little space to store extra info about an object would be very very much apreciated. Call it Tag or something such as on Objects in Visual Basic 6, .NET etc...

That way we dont have to risk having it show up when people put their mouse over the object (if we use the description) or mess up the action (if we use the action command box).

Just 50 bytes or something that can be used to give objects more interaction with bots, such as searching like...

if(aw_string(AW_OBJECT_TAG)=="GZ Base"){
/* This would identify the object as having GZ base on it
this feature could be very very very usefull if it could be used as
a name tag for the object as well as the standard create name.

}

AW is *NOT* written in vb.. and also note that ; breaks the action into a
seperate tag all together, follow your actions with a ; and type your
comments and they will not effect the action whatsoever..

So when wishing for things we should restrict all ideas to be within the
current limitations of the product?? Curious concept.

I think this would be a simple and cheap solution to something that is a
complete pain in the bum. To HAVE to hold programatic data for an object in
a field that isn't meant for that purpose (*cough* crowbar *cough*) is not
something to be encouraged. Its a workaround for a limitation that many
people come up against and requires additional coding to retrieve it. I
think its a great idea ...

And ignore the nasty man that seems to think that not all ActiveX control
properties can be accessed from any suitable ActiveX container.

Perhaps a simple solution would be to either allow a certain character sequence in the Description field to signify that the text is not intended to pop-up, such as /*commented text*/ or a command to hide or show Description field such as: Create popup off; Activate popup on
