I for 1 would like to see a system where all AW programmers can participate in the BETA program automatically so they can develop bots etc. A programmer is much more capable of identifying bugs than someone who is not.

Dear Folks,
Over the last few months we have seen a drastic increase in cloning related security problems, by this I also include console messages, and now allowing the world server to modify chat so that sessions apear to be differnt, say differnt things etc etc etc.
When we purchase a citizenship we are under the presumption, that as it says on the webpage. To use a unique citizen name, this is 1 of the biggest, if not the biggest reason to get a citizenship to prevent being impersonated. However despite this Active Worlds is continhjually adding features that allow CT's to "clone" the apearence of users with or without their permission.
As we have already seen with people cloning E N Z O this presents a very real problem, as people can now easily fake images, screenshots, chat logs etc.
For that reason I would like to see the following features:
- A citizen option to "Dissable Copying" that would denny all world servers / users a method of copying a citizen, for example worlds would not be able to modify chat so it apears under another users name.
- Right click popup extension, so that when you right click an avatar or text it brings up the citizen name, citizen number, Cit ppw, and if the user allows it, the coordinates of that user.
- BotLinkEject to allow a citizen to right click and "eject" a bot on his or her PPW for example if PPWs are abused and control has been lost.
Sep 20, 2002, 3:34pm
I know the proxy can pritty much clone anyone. But I mean changing bots name sos they apear as a actual cit etc.

I mean with actually directly impersonating someone in graphics only.
For example you can knock the brackets off a bot to make it look as though its the real person.

Some interesting ideas Dion, however I think that having any keyclicks sent to the CTs is kinda nuts. You could be typing your password or telephone number for gods sakes. LOL
And yes, id LOVE a scripting language, something like VB... heheh, the first TRUE object orientated programming language (aw objects)

You dont need 2, IP addys on objects is suicide for cell data anyhow. Use a bot that tracks avatar sessions, when u have a object built it has a aw_object_session which will corespond to 1 of the avatars. Just track it like that, ive done it before, shouldent be too hard for someone to create a standalone bot like it :)

Indeed, with C++ handling event handlers number based it should be easy as hell. When the browser detects a KeyPress event check its ASCII code and if the cursor is in the text box. If not a simple switch statement / loop that will read the values in it, and call events as required. To make it editable simply add a few GetPrivateProfileString(x) comments in.
stuct s_keydata
{
int i_id
long int thread_id
}
int total_keys;
s_keydata keyset[total_keys];
for(int i; i<=total_keys, i++)
{
if((m_keyascii==keyset[i].i_id)&&(focusitem!=IDC_ENTERCHAT)){
call keyset[i].thread_id //God knows how you call functions in C++, it happens in AW_EVENT_SET im sure AWInc can handle it.
}
}
/* Please note this is probably COMPLETE rubbish, my C++ is as good as a dead rabbits hopping ability.
so Blah! */

Okay like this, every time someone tries to select a object it had to do a new callback to get a RC value on it, then decide if its clickable or not, this is for every object you select. Or download a huge config file when you enter the world which would be just plain stupid and would need a hell load of new SDK featurees..

You still need a mega high capacity bot to track all the clicks, keep trac etc, you might as well just ask em not to click on others property, not that I can see anything that needs hiding.
