The Lighter Side...Jun 5, 2002, 9:11pm
Citizen "Too Big" sent this to me via email. I thought it was pretty hilarious, so I'm going to post it here (with permission).
------------------------------------------------------------------------- You see, the essential thing to realize in this situation, is that a persons screen name often reflects an attribute about themselves. For example, Agent1 is clearly an Agent of 1 year of age, so it's obvious you wouldn't want him hosting your server as his motor skills are underdeveloped, much like an old car, which reminds me of a joke, you can't teach an old dog new tricks, however, one must question whether that was actually humorous or not, what defines humor? Why do we care? As a horse in a Woody Allen movie once said, "To bend is funny, to break is not." Perhaps I should clarify, it was not actually a horse but the voice of Dr. Pierce from M*A*S*H played over the image of a horse in Woody's documentary, which he discusses over good Indian food with his potential girlfriend, who comments on the quality of the curry, but, what really makes quality curry? Perhaps we should go deeper, how can we really define quality? Which brings me back to the topic of M*A*S*H, often said to be a very high quality TV show, but why? Could it be the unique blending of comedy, army show, and medical drama, like Seinfeld meets G.I. Joe Cartoon meets E.R., do you think Kramer is mentally stable enough to become a G.I.? I rather doubt his sanity personally, which leads me to the logical conclusion that he possesses insanity. If Kramer were to login to Active Worlds do you think he would use the screen name Insanity? You see, the essential thing to realize in this situation, is that a persons screen name often reflects an attribute about themselves. Bowen was not saying that heart operations weren't serious. I really have no idea where you got that from. I'm sure that having a
family member undergo a serious procedure can be difficult, but overreacting like you did doesn't help anyone. Anyway, someone who fakes having to go to the hospital and blames it on a newsgroup argument is not trustworthy in my opinion. -Agent1 [View Quote] Cy Nominations Officially Open!Jun 25, 2002, 8:57pm
Filmkr has quite a reputation for making outrageous claims and extravagant posts. I do not believe he actually had to go to the
hospital. As far as adding "I think" to my sentence: No. It's already implied that "I think" what I said because I said it. -Agent1 [View Quote] Cy Nominations Officially Open!Jun 25, 2002, 9:15pm
*sigh* Quick English lesson. The "in my opinion" applied to the part of the sentence describing him as not being trustworthy.

Firstly, for those who don't know, I'm the bot developer for the AWC-sponsored paintball world AW at War.
I just wanted to re-mention a few things about AW at War testing. Every Tuesday at 9:00PM VRT, the world will open for at least an hour and everyone can come enjoy some friendly competition while I use you all to test out the bot ;) I've been working on an updated version of the bot that uses Global Mode and Console Messages and it is nearing completion. I *think* the new bot should be ready for this Tuesday, so come check it out :) For now, here is a screenshot to show off console messages. -Agent1 begin 666 awatwar.gif M1TE&.#=AL !F`/<`````````0 `` at ``_P` at ``` at 0 ` at at ` at _P! ``! 0 ! One of the programmers changes your account to have a beta flag turned on. They choose who is in beta, so there are no applications.
Roland used to say that asking to be in beta automatically disqualified you from that beta :) -Agent1 [View Quote] beta questionJul 8, 2002, 12:45pm

They can't just take your word for it that you'll be a good beta tester... As was suggested, try attending Tech Talks and being
generally helpful regarding "tech" questions. > It's really gay the way it works... I really don't understand how the "system" used for beta test additions can be homosexual. > I'm going to take this space to whine and bitch about it. I believe > I'd make an execellent beta tester... I program in C++, VB, Java, PERL, > etc...I write my own bots ( I don't release any to the public), I have my > own world I can use for testing, and so on..... I'm sure there are many people who have similar activities. > I was trying to be kind and just wait for someone to notice me and add me to beta (as I was on the beta > for the 2.x versions i believe). After I got tired of waiting I sent off a few nice e-mails to various people, yeilding no results.... Well while Roland was "in charge", he used to say anyone asking to be on the beta team would be automatically disqualified ;) > Looks like a few other people are in the same boat.... We're headed down Shit Creek, without a paddle. ;-) Not really... If the programmers have no idea who you are, they're not going to add you to a closed beta. This goes for all of those people who come to Tech Talk and talk about useless crap hoping to get into beta, as well. -Agent1 Strange waste of storageJul 10, 2002, 10:44pm

Yes. It is finding all occurances of the words in its database, whether or not it is actually defining that word.

I've never heard of that sort of rule. Anyway, the original problem was with your confusion of words, not about punctuation or
