Makes you think... Did they find a way to support negative lighting for the
CONSOLE Renderware? Naturally. Did they for the much more powerful and yet severely neglected PC Renderware? You should know the answer. [View Quote] Hello and Two CentsMar 17, 2001, 8:19pm
FINALLY SOMEONE WITH A CLUE THAT CAN DO SOMTHING ABOUT IT! Go get yourself a
job with AWCI at the addy myrth posted and make it happen. Re: Resignation from CitBingoMar 18, 2001, 12:49pm
STOP POSTING IN HTML DAMMIT.
There, now that I got that off my chest... [View Quote] I too have witnessed Daphnes abuse towards those of Gor and it's really disgusting that SHE represents AW and is getting away with this. if it were some of us other ones, we would be removed from the premises PRONTO! I'm delighted that Jynx is in that Bingo and helps run it. I enjoy Bingo MUCH more when she is there. She is ALWAYS pleasant to EVERYONE. Putting her in charge there was an EXCELLENT move *VBS* Daphne on the other hand? Puh lease *rolling my frigging eyes* I have chatlogs where she has been verbally abuseive towards those of gor and it's not right. She's making the rest of the AW staff look bad. I vote REMOVE Daphne before AW loses all their Bingo players and several cit's. I think it's wonderful that BVS has offered his time to donate a wonderful prize to Bingo. I wish I knew how to create such beautiful pictures like he does. I don't donate to CitBingo BECAUSE of Daphne. I will NEVER donate to ANYTHING that has ANYTHING to do with her! SoS and his Mom are 2 of the most wonderful, sweet, caring and giving people to AW and I think very highly of the 2 of them and to see SoS be forced to leave because of ONE person, then it's a shame! There! I've said my piece! Come back SoS Re: Resignation from CitBingoMar 18, 2001, 11:45pm
What do you expect from a king procrastinator who's hard drive just took a
dive and took a month's work with it the day before it's due? Oh well. [View Quote] CLC downMar 19, 2001, 8:41am
Xoom (now NBCi) never noticed, but the downtime sucked butt. Anyway, I've
found a way to get around that restriction on other servers. Make a "download database"website out of some cheezy HTML files. From those link to EVERY file on your object path. I know it sucks, but it works. [View Quote] Need helpMar 20, 2001, 9:24am
Don't kill me for this, I know it's offtopic.
But, whenever I try to move, rename, copy, delete, whatever a file, I get a "File system error (1026)" Yes I've rebooted, and programs can still work with files, but I can't. Also, in the properties window, no file attributes are reported. Looks like Windows bit the dust, but does anyone else have any ideas? Need helpMar 21, 2001, 6:12pm
Well, thanks for all the help. It went away. I don't know why or how. Cuz I
dunno either. Only reasonable explaination is that everything goes to hell when I do anything related to school. 100% of all my equipment failures have occured during homework. Maybe AMD added some AI functions to the Duron 700 but disabled them and they've come back to life after mad overclocking. Seeing as you just referred to your sound card as a SoundBlaster, I can only
assume it's the ANCIENT 8 bit version. Now either figure out what the hell it really is or spend $20 on at least a 486 era SoundBlaster 16 [View Quote] Fresh from the rumormill.Mar 23, 2001, 11:22pm

You don't hafta buy it to run the servers. You can just download the Linux

AW Citizen "Nathan", a trusted friend of mine let me in on it. Where he heard it, I don't know. [View Quote] help: looking for a world...Mar 29, 2001, 10:37pm
If you're referring to the ANNOYING grid of tourist trees every 20m over a
large portion of the world, I took the liberty of deleting them all to make way for some property of mine. Took out the WHOLE mess. [View Quote] Re: Roland's mind--or lack thereof (was Re: Settings Dialog, tab Advanced, build 372)Mar 30, 2001, 11:51am

I'm aware of the advantages of customizing the language files. However,
since it is a factory standard file causing the problem, SOMEONE at AW needs to fire up notepad and fix it and replace the bad file with the good one. [View Quote] Re: Settings Dialog, tab Advanced, build 372Mar 31, 2001, 1:19am

Uhhhhhhhhhh? Since when is discrediting those that don't agree with you in any way possible a crime? Please, lets not overcrowd the prisons more until we take over Iraq and turn it into what Australia used to be. > People hide behind the internet like this because its safe. Its pathetic and > runs the danger of spawning a generation of over-opinionated, >gutless idiots > who can only express themselves in such a non->confrontational environment. Okay, what generation are you referring to? The internet really only became what it is in the 1990's, making today's middle and high school students the only ones developmentally influenced by it. Being one myself, I can tell you, you're lucky if you can get ANY opinions out of most of us, and as far as being able to express themselves in a non-confrontational environment, the class wuss has disappeared. Simply because we haven't been raised in the Utopia our parents presented, a sexless, viiolence free world where all humans are paper cutouts and therefore there is no race, no religion, no NOTHING to differentiate between groups with, doesn't make us defects, but it sure as hell assures that there aren't going to be many wusses coming into the world unable to make decisions for themselves. > Eep is simply the most affected person that most of us (that can lead a > functional life in the real world) have experienced so far. Impressive. However, I wasn't going the free speech route, AW is an
international community. When did I make a reference to the Constitution anyway? [View Quote] Filtering out crEepSApr 2, 2001, 9:24pm
My bad, didn't finish replying in last message.
[View Quote] It doesn't matter how much time he spends staring at a computer screen, it makes him no lower than you or I. > > Everyone has the ability to filter Eep if they wish, but that's like >moving > home to avoid noisy neighbours. It shouldn't be our problem >to sort out .... Bad analogy. Yes, it SHOULD be our problem to sort out, some people have the common sense to weed out the flames and pick out the good part, kind of like eating a lemon, unless you're REALLY weird, you don't eat the outer parts (not sure what you'd call it). But you don't ask the fruit distributor to peel them for you. > Anti-censorship is idealistic crap ... and it takes a VERY >weak-minded > person to need to feel the need to hide behind that for a little >validation. Call me names all you want, but censorship makes weaker minded people than myself. I seek no form of approval, I'd be perfectly happy if I were in the position of all the world's evil dictators combined-everyone hates me, so what. > As far as I am concerned you put yourself out there to be shot >at by bringing such a subjective topic into an unadulterated >flame war. > Getting shot at doesn't scare me, we all hafta die sometime... Man, your newsreader must be having one helluva seizure, you've only posted
the EXACT same thing in HTML and plain text about a half dozen times [View Quote] Greetings! I'm SW Chris, Governor of James River, a subcommunity of SW City, and the Events Coordinator for the city. SW City's 2nd Birthday bash is next week and we want you all to come! One event will be held per day for the entire next week, starting tomorrow, Sunday! Here's the skinny: Sunday, April 1, 11 p.m. VRT - ScRaM Be the first to unscramble all of the words. (We are having problems with teh Scram bot, so if it's not running, then we'll have Trivia instead.) Monday, April 2, 11 p.m. VRT - SW City Best Builds Tour Tour 10 of the best builds in SW City space. This tour comes highly recommended, as several new builds and one recreation of a video game will be unveiled for the first time during this tour. Tuesday, April 3, 11 p.m. VRT - Wacky Races Kmissile583K gave me special permission to make this course. It's a standard course with a few new twists to the game thrown in. Wednesday, April 4, 11 p.m. VRT - AW Baseball and AW Tennis Play the very first versions of AW Baseball and AW Tennis all night tonight. Come at any time for AW Tennis, but show up early for AW Baseball! (The bot is stingy about letting people join after the game has started. =)) Thursday, April 5, 11 p.m. VRT - SW City Paintball Royale This event is a single-elimination form of paintball. We will play on all four of SW City's paintball courses. Be the lone survivor at the end of each match to win. Friday, April 6, 9 p.m. VRT - Palm Grove Building Contest This is a classic building contest. Builds will be judged on character, architecture, creativeness, and inventiveness. Friday, April 6, After the Building Contest - Closing Ceremonies and Fireworks Show Soon after the building contest, join SW City's staff for a time of fun and drunken partying (well not really). The winners of the previous events will be officially recognized during the closing ceremonies, then sit back, relax, and enjoy the fireworks and light show under a canopy of stars! Saturday, April 7, All Day - All Events All events will be open periodically throughout the day. If you missed an event earlier in the week, come on Saturday to play. The teleport station to these events can be found at the SW City Community Events Center, located at aw 2212.9S 3600.6E 90. Please show up at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the event. We, the SW City Staff (SW Comit, SW Chris, Syntax, Captain MAD Mike, and Rae), wish to see everyone there! In all seriousness, find out what your computer REALLY is before you post bug reports. Also, the report as a whole was rather bad, doesn't say anything about what's happening. And also, since half of AW is rendering, how about a video card? |
