RWX is a lot easyer for an app to parse, and usually contains a lot less
useless polys and verts than tS objects. it does take longer to render tS objects, it's a known fact, only the people who build their worlds with mostly unconverted tS objects say otherwise because they don't want their worlds looked upon as badly built... open the port on IIS? the port IIS uses is defined by config (unless it's
even stupider than I think it is), probably port 80 (default HTTP port). Anyway, use Apache, it'll knock you over in amazement over how little trouble there is. KAH [View Quote] rock.exe?Apr 23, 2002, 2:43pm

the good mail-scanning AV acts as a proxy... the way Norton AV works is that
if it detects on RETR command on a POP3 connection (I guess it uses the remote port to identify it) it launches it's mailscanner. same thing for outgoing, if it detects a DATA command it scans the content before it relays it to the server (doesn't work well if you're connected to the server as localhost lol), so it's completely independent of the clients. AW is way too big, and would take years and years to fill up (unless a lot
more cits come, but with the AWC's current policies I doubt that). And even though they added some new objects, it's still majorly looks a bit old. KAH [View Quote] test (OMG! I'm testing too!)Apr 28, 2002, 8:20am

I've had no problems like this with AW, it runs fine, except that it usually crashes now and then anyway, but that happens regardless of the DX version. KAH DirectX 8.1May 17, 2002, 4:00pm
You're out in the woods, dude. DX 8.1 is a completely fine working release
of DX, and it *IS* in release, been since last year. The current beta version of DX is DX 9. I have never had any problems with DX 8.1. Maybe you should run the DX diagnostic tool, there might be a problem on your system. (Start > Run > type "dxdiag", without the quotes). I recommend upgrading to anyone out there, it will do you a lot of good. KAH DirectX 8.1May 18, 2002, 3:37pm

It seems the most likely for a system like that, even though the minimum requirement for Windows 98 is a 486 66MhZ CPU...
