First I'd like to apologize ... a couple of b'days were submitted but I was
not notified by the website like I should have been ... they have been approved now tho. Sorry I'm late! I rely on the notifications as I don't check the site daily LOL. Secondly, I want to clarify that adding your b'day info is NOT related to the "birthday builders or builds" in alphaworld. It is simply a webpage that you can visit to see who's b'days are coming up and of course only those that have submitted their b'days will show on it. Submitting your b'day info does not mean you'd get an aw b'day build however, because my site and that event are not related. It would be great if aw had a birthday world perhaps, or at the very least a committee to take care of birthday events so that citizens of aw could participate in something that is more bonded perhaps? Just a thought LOL. There is no currently *organized* birthday committee to my knowledge. The *work load* for setting up builds is by volunteering and you sorta hear of it by word of mouth ... both for setting up and for building for others. Anyway, appreciation goes out once again to all those who give of their time to do these builds! I did want to put the webpage out once again and invite you to add your b'day ... and for those that maybe do look at the page now and then, even if you don't build for others a "Happy Birthday" gram would be nice! http://63.249.155.229/Aeon/AWbirthdays.html Click the Add Event link at the bottom of the box that lists b'days. AW Birthdays...Mar 29, 2004, 6:56pm
I hear ya Vera! You've done a fantastic job and you are appreciated by those
who know your heart. You are my all-time fav b'day builder ... your style of building just blows me away! As for your being done, I'm sure you mean setups ... not building for? Either way, I'll be done with setting up also .... come the end of my two months of May/June. The work load can really wear one down, and I've got relatively easy months compared to you guys! I'm hoping some brave soul with take on the responsibility for July, Aug, etc. But if not, se la vie. If you leave us entirely, you will be sorely missed! I know I'm fast approaching a break myself and I'm getting *burn out* LOL. I'll still be around to do some building mind ya but my world is in neglect and needs my TLC. And I hope to join the ranks of modelers and am in the process of learning to create my own objects ... what fun that is! I now see why a good many b'day builders come, and go, within a year or so .... especially those that have done setups and built as well. I know I volunteered to do May/June setups to give you *core folks* a well needed break ... without tunablues, dreamer2 and you doing setups we might not have had any b'days these past few months ... or so I've observed since about last fall. Ms. Sassy took a couple of months, and now me. And those are just the setup folks of late, many more have done so previous to my knowledge! But man o man do we learn alot in that time so I'm not regretting a moment of it! The biggest negative experience I had was a *reaming out* for "ruining someone's birthday" because I informed the recipient they were "being taken care" of when in grams the birthday gal was telling me she had no friends in aw. She had submitted her b'day info to me for inclusion in my aw area and we were gramming back and forth so I could get more info such as fav colors, etc. The person that requested the build (for which I did not know of her involvement til I got reamed LOL) was upset that I'd told the recipient that "we'd taken care of her". I didn't tell the b'day gal where the build was or anything like that ... only that she "has friends now". I almost left b'day building over that incident as it was purely a miscommunication. I was in no way being malicious in "spoiling the birthday surprise". And too, I was new to it all back then and made mistakes of course ... I was way too over exuberant LOL. One the upside tho ... I've learned how to do bot copies of my builds (even did a tutorial on my site for others), I don't think I'd of learned that without you guys. I've learned much more than that about using my xelagot bots for that matter. I've learned to create the most stunning effects on the simpliest & otherwise *most mundane* of objects, I would not have learned that without you guys ... I would only have been able to admire from afar. I've learned far more about what one can do with move and rotate actions ... and how to build MORE right under the *Building Inspector's* nose without him bishin LOL. You have NO IDEA how I for one appreciate you folks and I truly, truly thank you for giving me the knowledge I would not otherwise have. So hun, when you think of those hardships you may have endured, please temper that with the knowledge that you've helped others to learn beyond what you, or they, may have otherwise done. In spite of all the testosterone / estrogen floating around there in cyberspace we all need to remember that there is a REAL person behind that keyboard. We need to appreciate the fact that some go the *extra mile* ... and I personally have to thank you! It's these folks that are the true spirit and core of community life. I'm very sure I don't know the whos/whys/whens b'day builds started, perhaps someone would like to comment on that ... and please know that I've only mentioned people I've become close to over the past year or so ... there are many, many more that deserve credit for which I do not have the *full story*, I hope they know they too are appreciated even though I personally don't mention their names. I'm admittedly relatively new to the gang. There are some old time cits out there that could enlighten us I'm sure! BTW, I don't consider myself *in charge*, there is no *head of b'day builders/builds* ... just one or two people that take on the humungous job of setting up the builds and contacting others (120 grams!) to build therein, and then making sure the birthday recipient sees the site in a timely manor. My months are May/June and those are the extent of my *in chargeness* LOL ... If anyone out there supposes there is anyone *in charge* .... wrong! We are not at all organized but somehow we manage to pass the torch and help each other. For me, I'd like to thank the following (not limited to of course) for their inspiration, patience, time and help: Birthdays & building inspiration: tunablues, Vera, dreamer2, Sylsea (the reason I'm in aw), Ms. Sassy, OneSummer, PeteHetherington, Energiser, and too many others to name. Bot help & free objects when my world & I were new: Bastillion, Lady Barbara, Restless Mind, & of course Xelag. My modeling mentors: Starheart, Titania o, ORB, Imagine (to date, hopefully I'll have more mentors to torment ... muahhahahaha) My fav AVs & Seqs: Aylla, Shankahtus, Insanity Holy cow! This turned out a lot more *winded* than I intended LOL. Luv & Hugzzz to all... LNH [View Quote] AW Birthdays...Mar 29, 2004, 10:22pm
Oh I didn't mean you think of anyone in charge LOL, you and I both know
there's no such *position* ... just that perhaps others weren't aware is what I meant. Hugzzz and glad to see you'll still be building! LNH [View Quote] AW Birthdays...Apr 1, 2004, 1:58am
See? For every *bad incident* you get some good ones! We love ya Vera ...
don't let the *bas___ds* get ya down ... you AND your builds rock! Hugzzz LNH [View Quote] AW Birthdays...Apr 1, 2004, 1:45pm
If you were to look at where my thread replied to you would see it was under
Vera's post where she says some we not nice to her ... I have no idea who those *some* are, nor do I have any idea how you took it to be you. At any rate, you have been removed per your request. Energiser, btw, was my teacher ... I'm not commenting about her either! She too rocks... LNH [View Quote] Active Worlds Feature Vote. We've forgotten about something haven't we?Apr 1, 2004, 1:55am
Excuse me ... why is the vote page not secure??? Why would I want to log in
there with my username & pw without it being a secure page??? Some thoughts on what you can vote for at this point, all great improvements and I vote for em all LOL ... but seriously Add scale command: Neat idea and great for the masses, but you could scale in the .rwx via notepad ... although that is more difficult for the *average user* I admit. Custom Avatars: Love this but can see the potential problem with an x-rated av showing up in my g-rated world ... bad karma! Save outgoing grams: Isn't there a free progy that does this already? Not that it shouldn't have been a feature of aw to start with LOL. Increase the maximum cell data limit: Isn't the problem, as mentioned in another post, the # of polys/verts ... not so much the cell space? Anyway, I get the BI breathing down my neck so ya, cell data unlimited would be more to my preference ... yes I know, that would be lag city! Add a fullscreen mode: Most folks still have 800 x 600 resolution for their monitors, not sure how full screen mode would help unless you could put Tab Controls in the Toolbar area and have each it's own drop down menu? That would elimate that window entirely and then people could maximize (resize) their main browser window to their monitor's capacity. Access multiple universes from a single browser: Again, isn't there a progy that does this? Or, is that one uni only and multiple worlds within that uni alone? Fix the world rights lists: This sounds good, only problem I can see would be that building worlds may not be able to readily identify what cit can do what. And then, how would you implement that for those worlds that allow tourists to build? User-Selectable Chat Font: This could be lumped in with my idea of a drop down menu in the Toolbar? Browser skins: This could be lumped in with my idea of a drop down menu in the Toolbar? Instead of putting in my pw on the site, I'll just vote here LOL ... here they are in order of importance to me: Custom Avatars Add a scale command Increase the maximum cell data limit Fix the world rights lists Save outgoing telegrams Access multiple universes from a single browser User-Selectable Chat Font Browser skins Add a fullscreen mode And here's one or two you don't have, which to me outweighs all the rest: prefs! For me, float = 110m all the way around me, that's 220m! When I crash in a world, and hafta reload it the amount float forces on me is too much .... I'd prefer to set that myself and not have float the default!!! For instance, my connection is relatively fast, but where my op is is not ... d/l 500 objects or more when entering my world for the first time, or after a browser crash, is painful for even the fastest connection ... that is because of float. Allow ME to specify what the default is please! can't use it? LNH [View Quote] Active Worlds Feature Vote. We've forgotten about something haven't we?Apr 1, 2004, 2:09am

Unfortunately archive did not get all graphics! One HenrikG's pages we need:
ex5a.gif (from Part 2 pg) ex10a_ill.gif (from Part 4 pg) Also a couple graphics won't load for me on Grover's site, nor can I seem to save either RWX tutorial page. The missing graphics are: Image1.gif (from Part 1 pg) rwxmod2.gif (on the Transforms pg) I can't d/l either of those pages ... IE just freezes up!? LNH PS ... thanks for hunting those down Barb! A good way to save a page, if not as seen in HTML, is to go to View, Source
.... save that as GroverRWXpg1.html, then do likewise to the next page ... you won't get the images to your hard drive but you'll get the *meat* as Barb calls it LOL. You can then go back and save as for the images individually. I'll bet folks have these right off the original sites tho, and can provide the broken images!? Thanks again Barb, at least we have them again! Hugzzz LNH [View Quote] Heinrikg's Texture Tutorials????Jul 18, 2004, 5:31pm

Hmmm my suggestion may not work cause for it you are selecting from the drop
down menu immediately above it. The one form I do use has radio button selection tho ... you'd click the appropriate radio button but then you could only pick one ... perhaps a checkbox where you could select multiple might serve better. I don't see the diff, before they were in the left in browser ... now they
are their own window on the left in the same manor. I've resized it so it fits in the same place it did before, just not in browser but beside it. Mine's always open tho. Perhaps your complaints are that you don't want em always open therefore with them closed you get a larger view window? LNH [View Quote] Floating tabs window stuck closed..Apr 10, 2004, 12:54pm
Just for clarification, this happen to me also ... title bar = the blue bar
at the top of the tabs (or any other) window ... double click that and your window should expand. I think *minimize* would be less confusing/shocking LOL. LNH [View Quote] Floating tabs window stuck closed..Apr 10, 2004, 11:14pm
Because people are use to minimize / maximize, if they are going to make
roll up the standard they should make it an obvious change. I didn't know about that feature til I happened on it by accident and I'm sure many others don't either. You'll see this same kind of post again and again because of it. And if MS has changed why hasn't my email/ng programs, nor most of my other programs that work in MS? It has Min/Max feature for that window ... if you're going to change then be consistent! Roll up is not a standard windows feature, not yet anyway. You are simply replying to posts that are on three sections of the NG ...
not your fault LOL. As to *blonde* perhaps Alex is thinking of me, I like to claim *blonde status* (for which I am btw, although not Platinum LOL) when I do something silly or don't know things that others think I should. It's a good excuse, nice to be able to blame something LOL. I could say I'm scatter brained, or haven't got a clue but heck ... most people know what those mean. Now *blonde* ... some actually hafta ask me what that means LOL. And it really means nothing cause not all blondes are dumb, hair color doesn't determine your intelligence ... hasn't got anything to do with it ... but some folks take that comment and run with it so whatever makes em happy!
