Yeah, that would definately be better. The only problem with a jimmy
rigged version is that whatever version loads first is all that you see with AW's current system. -- --Bowen-- No of SETI units returned: 69 Processing time: 57 days, 10 hours. (Total hours: 1378) www.setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu new windowAug 24, 2003, 5:12pm

You were a little lax on the actual differentiation. You can control
which part of the window you want to be transparent with the programming API I'd assume, even in 2k. Windows 9x has no facility for transparency other than some insanly ingenuis programming ideas. -- --Bowen-- http://bowen.homelinux.com/sys/ Linux is a godly OS, that's an understatement. new windowAug 28, 2003, 5:47am

Okay, 90% of my face isn't covered with zits, but lets say 10% is...
now... spread that 10% out liberally but evenly and you don't have much "free" area.. but rather the same amount of space with "zones", so to speak. Finding a large enough zone without hitting some little zit is the problem. -- --Bowen-- No of SETI units returned: 74 Processing time: 66 days, 6 hours. Faggot is actually a term used to describe a replacement -- or a bundle
of something. You can obviously see where it's slang term is derived from. GIF sucks, why even suggest it. Especially with the incrediously insane
cost to include it. Go with PNG/MNG. -- --Bowen-- http://bowen.homelinux.com/sys/ Yeah, it's that good. (Maybe an AW section in the near future?) color in awSep 18, 2003, 5:56pm
[View Quote]
OK, let's decompse why GIF sucks. Firstly, it has a limit on the max
colors being used as an old archaic 8 bit number. Maybe if they updated it a tad bit more frequently that'd be a different story. PNG and MNG support 256 quite well and more. Animation? That's why there's MNG. Tell me how GIF does not suck, because it's more wide spread? Just because monkeys throw poop does not make throwing poop a good behavioral practice. -- --Bowen-- http://bowen.homelinux.com/sys/ Yeah, it's that good. According to AWI, the ability to decode GIF would've added a huge chunk
to the code. Apparenetly one of you is right, and it's going to be them. I'm ecstatic you can write a 50 line GIF decoder in C. Really. But you can't just decode GIF to use it, this is a 3d application you have to do some serious calculations for distance, angles, etc, oh yeah... for textures too. They claimed the DLL was another meg or two, and PNG support in other programs barely adds half that... I wonder. -- --Bowen-- http://bowen.homelinux.com/sys/ Yeah, it's that good. Again, GIF is peachy. But if you're going to spotlight just one format,
then you better add something with much better options. If you add like 5 formats, great, that's awesome, include GIF. -- --Bowen-- http://bowen.homelinux.com/sys/ Yeah, it's that good. (Maybe an AW section in the near future?) color in awSep 19, 2003, 4:39pm

Commas denote a pause. The comma after But was place if he pause
shortly after but (as quite some people do). Publically and publicly are synonyms. As for capitalize as, you need to capitalize everything right after an ellipses if you're going to do it to one of the sentence fragments. By the way, that's a huge no no -- sentence fragments that is. Mum, that's a personal adjective and should only be used to describe one person, not many people. For example; "My mum is very special." or "Our mom is a special woman." Not to be confused with "Our mum is a very special lady." Many British people make this mistake. But hey, leave it to the British to use slang and try to make it "proper." ;) For a British person you sure have a loosem "Correct" English. But, you're not the only Briton here that goes wacky about the American dialect of English then goes right around and uses "ur" and "i". Or will put a list as "this, this and this." I do so much enjoy doing this. By the way, hurrah, my English is far from perfect but it's hardly as bad as some peoples. -- --Bowen-- http://bowen.homelinux.com/sys/ Yeah, it's that good.
