Well, that can be somewhat true. Adding a Create texture something to an object will cause your video card to completely redraw the object (I assume over the already present textures). This would cause a slight increase in the time to draw the frames, I would assume that's how it's done. --Bowen-- Bug in World Server build 43Aug 17, 2002, 8:57pm

But then again this is one buggy as hell video card. --Bowen-- Re: Anime (was Re: AWEC's Stand Up Comedy Night)Aug 16, 2002, 7:08pm

Most of which are on Cartoon network. Most of which I hate more than
anything because of it's style. That's my opinion on Anime. Don't confuse that for lack of "culture." --Bowen-- Oh no, I'm stressed *sweat drop* Remind You of Anyone?Aug 20, 2002, 9:53pm

(i.e. > Pokemon, Dragonball, etc.) Hate to break it to you but my friends all watch anime. They have huge collections. I've seen glimpses of it from time to time, and I'm sorry to say, I do not like it nor enjoy it. Anything predating 1993 with anime at least looks halfway decent and anything after it just contains the hints of style that I loathe. > So that's what I meant by "be adventurous". There's more to life than > Cartoon Network and Kids WB. Find your nearest Blockbuster and check out > the Sci-Fi section, or better yet, look up some fansubs of more current > anime. (if you don't mind reading subtitles) I do watch anime predating 1993, most of it is good, there's some garbage but that's ok. Just because I don't like what you like doesn't make me bad or uncultured or unadventurous. Like I just said, I don't like the "current" anime style. Not even american branches of it like Batman Beyond. It's just not entertaining to me, sorry if I can't like the same thing majorities like. > As for the lack of culture, I guess I should rephrase that to "a lack of > wanting to learn more about the world around you." :P How does me disliking a certain style automagically make me lacking the ability to want to learn more about the world around me? Does this same rule apply to people who don't like celery? They lack the wanting to a well balanced diet? I dislike it that I really don't want to learn more about it, so don't ask me questions since I've seen "glimpses" to test my knowledge. Some people are just a little prejudiced against others not liking the things they do. --Bowen-- Re: Anime (was Re: AWEC's Stand Up Comedy Night)Aug 17, 2002, 12:20am

> Anime is based on visual bangs, flashes and Music rather than detail, Hell
look at Sailor Moon, it had a best selling album out of all the music thats never been beat (Cartoon wise). My MP3 collection contains about 20 of the tracks from Digimon series 1 to 3 as well, as well as about 120 MB of the SM CDs (I really should clear them out anyway) but the idea is to create a flash and get people existed with the battle scenes as you can see from this picture http://galileo.spaceports.com/~mralpha/anime_1.jpg there are also other "pre-resiquites" to anime characters appart from the noses and the tear drops to show worriedness, fright, sarcasm etc. That along with the drawing style help to incorperate it into the anime class. Those things alone don't immediately spin a cartoon into anime. --Bowen-- Re: Anime (was Re: AWEC's Stand Up Comedy Night)Aug 18, 2002, 4:01pm

Is it me, though, or are all anime characters non Asian? It seems they have a hard time doing the eyes for an Asian person in anime style. --Bowen-- Re: Anime (was Re: AWEC's Stand Up Comedy Night)Aug 18, 2002, 4:34pm

They look like they are drawn into that style. At least the first one is,
not sure about the other two. --Bowen-- Re: Anime (was Re: AWEC's Stand Up Comedy Night)Aug 23, 2002, 11:46pm
> I have to dissagree with you, on several points. First and foremost is
that they are not even Human. heh. The second point is that those characters do not flaunt their sexuality. You hardly think of angels as sex godesses do you? I have no idea what you see in lilimon, at least its better than her champion form. I'm going to have to disagree with you as well. First and foremost it doesn't matter if they're human or not, the point is it's humanoid and drawn to manifest sexuality. Or at least partly drawn that way perhaps to draw in the teen crowd in a failed attempt? They could've made it some giant robot with a full robe on and little to no human characteristics right? Right, but they didn't. Aphrodite was the goddess of sexuality, tell me she wasn't a heavenly figure that was to allure to men? --Bowen-- Re: Anime (was Re: AWEC's Stand Up Comedy Night)Aug 24, 2002, 12:24am

I saw some rotation vandelisim by dozens of tourists (of course it's a tourist so why report it). Just because it's not reported doesn't mean it's never happened. --Bowen-- we should...Aug 27, 2002, 1:32pm
I don't understand how that has anything to do with tourists building objects that go crazy with rotate and move and go into other's
property. Registries don't do that stuff. :P --Bowen-- [View Quote] C&C - The RingAug 26, 2002, 2:17pm
LoL that's so silly. Don't put CD's in the microwave either... I know
there'll be one person dumb enough to put their windows95 CD in to see if it's true. --Bowen-- C&C - The RingAug 26, 2002, 4:38pm
Supposedly there's cyanide in CD's... but I think they fixed that with newer
ones. The cyanide only comes out through a microwave reaction (in lethal amounts) because of the small enclosed space and the high amount of heat and water being moved around. --Bowen-- [View Quote] C&C - The RingAug 27, 2002, 4:17pm
Well it'd have to be one small bank and you'd have to be nearby the oven. Most
people put it in the kitchen at eye level (or lower) so it was pretty dangerous to kill those old AOL 5 CD's in there. I think that's how someone died by it. --Bowen-- [View Quote] C&C - The RingAug 27, 2002, 6:05pm

No, you're simply recieving e-mails with the virus in it (that's why you get
constant pop ups if you have e-mail scanning on). It simply quarentines the file, at least in my case. Sometimes it'll get spoofed by the virus trying to send itself, don't worry no e-mail is infected. If you're on XP restart in safe mode and do a scan as the admin so that you take no risk. --Bowen-- [View Quote] Yaha Virus.Aug 27, 2002, 4:15pm
Sometimes concearning E-mails they can sell execute their attachments. So it's not always the "safe" bet. The e-mail that
contained the yaha virus that was sent to me kept trying to self execute itself. --Bowen-- [View Quote] really wierd dumb questionAug 27, 2002, 6:04pm

I don't believe there is a nuclear plant anywhere near Orlando, I could be wrong. Nonetheless video taping the exterior does nothing but make it look pretty on tape. --Bowen-- really wierd dumb questionAug 27, 2002, 6:40pm
> It also provides a really good record of the layout and structure of the

Nuclear plants have restricted airspace/altitude though, and it only gives the layout from outside, not much that will help you with once you get inside. Most nuclear plants have air-protection so the only way to really do anything is to get inside and cause a core meltdown (even then there's quite a few failsafe's). > Was this guy recording the same spot for 10 minutes, or did it look like > he was actually casing the building? If the former, I wouldn't worry > about it too much. He might have been following a departing plane or > something... Sounds like he might have just been taping it (I assume he exagerated on the 10 minutes part.. it was probably only like 2-5 minutes). Might have been a tourist from New England or something. --Bowen-- |
