i was at floriday during july and while i was in the airport going home i
saw something really disturbing... so heres my question


this is gonna sound dumb, but is there a nuclear power plant near the
orlando airport? when i was there there was some dude who was videotaping
what looled like a Nukeplant for like 10 minutes straight, and then left the
airport and i was thinking of reporting it because that was VERY suspicious.

if there is a plant, SHOULD i report it? or am i just being paranoid, and if
i DID report it, HOW would I?

now if thats a nuclear plant, they should move it LOL. Its within VERY close
proximity to disney world and all that junk, and the airport.

I don't believe there is a nuclear plant anywhere near Orlando, I could be wrong.
Nonetheless video taping the exterior does nothing but make it look pretty on tape.

Ok seeing how I was born and raised in Florida I thought I would answer on
this one. First off what you saw was not a nuclear plant but a Coal plant.
They look very much the same but are two totally diffrent plants. bowen you
are correct, they would not put a nuclear plant anywhere around a public
attaction. No worries The Derek, it was probably some tourist (not
terriorst) taking pictures thinking along the same lines as you that it was
Nuclear.

It also provides a really good record of the layout and structure of the
building when you just can't seem to find/make/steal those spiffy
blueprints...

Was this guy recording the same spot for 10 minutes, or did it look like
he was actually casing the building? If the former, I wouldn't worry
about it too much. He might have been following a departing plane or
something...

Nuclear plants have restricted airspace/altitude though, and it only gives the layout
from outside, not much that will help you with once you get inside. Most nuclear
plants have air-protection so the only way to really do anything is to get inside and
cause a core meltdown (even then there's quite a few failsafe's).

Sounds like he might have just been taping it (I assume he exagerated on the 10
minutes part.. it was probably only like 2-5 minutes). Might have been a tourist
from New England or something.

Combustion doesn't set off a nuclear reaction :

Theoretically crashing a plane into it wouldn't do anything, you'd have to have a lot
of people inside the plant working at it for a while and getting to know how that
specific plant works. Then be able to shut down the dueterium supply, coolant
system, and pulling out the carbon rods, then removing the concrete and lead walls.
Then the core meltdown might be uber dangerous... but that format is only the most
primitive set up of a nuclear reactor.

yeah he wasnt there a whole 10 minutes probably more around 5... it wasnt a
nuclear power plant so he was probably just curious, or really thinks its a
nuclear plant and is planning to ocmmit suicide lol

I went to the Orlando airport last November for thanksgiving vacation and as
far as I know there is no power plant there. Course we landed at night so I
may be wrong.

hard to see at night probably since it wouldnt be lit up... its right
outside the window of the temrinal (i have no clue what direction it is)
truetome said its just a coal plant, but it really looks almost like a
nuclear one even smoke comes out of two hourglass shaped towers :D... but
theres 2 or 3 other stright cylder towers too so i guess a nuclear plant
doesnt have those

definition, it is usually interpreted as extra or super.

Though they are designed to withstand such attacks/accidents, if the plane
were to get far enough through the containment shell and impact the actual
reaction chamber... a meltdown *could* occur.

There are many coal plants operating in Florida, coal is a big source of
energy. The plants often appear to resemble Nuclear plants, but are nothing
like them. here is a little history of what the coal plants in Florida have
in mind.

Thus this is why they look like Nuclear plants. Here is a picture of a
plant close to Disney World, is this the one you seen? Again this may not be
the one you saw but there are several Coal & Plant generated plants
throughout Orlando.

Well thats just one of many plants around the Orlando area, I wasn't sure if
that was the one you saw or not. You can however surf the net for Coal Power
plants in the Orlando area for more info. :o)
