Rate Active Worlds (the universe we are in now and the software we use) on a scale 1-100. (100 is best)Nov 17, 2003, 12:24pm
I dunno...in its current state i'd have to say 50 - 60 or so.
Before it was 95 - 100 for me... (pre- January '03 [or whever the hell the prices were raised]) --- Syntax synny at swcity.net [View Quote] Flyboy's roads PRIOR to May 2002Nov 25, 2003, 3:51pm

From the AW Mapper website (http://mapper.activeworlds.com):
Mapper News: 20 November 2003 - Bad news, campers! Looks like AWCI won't be able to clean up the disk and get a snapshot to us before January. We'll keep you posted if anything changes, but basically, the ball's in their court; there's nothing we can do about it. 6 November 2003 - We have requested a new propdump and will fire up the November update as soon as we get it (and some more disk space). --- Well, it's happening again. Mapper never updated for almost a whole year (August 2002 to July 2003) and it looks like that is going to happen again. Can't AWI just take an hour or two (if it takes that long) and send Greg and Pieter the property file? ;_; The Mapper update is something that people who build in Alphaworld look forward to and when AWI puts things off like this and doesn't seem care about it, it shows that they really don't really seem to care about us. >_< Note: also sent to support at activeworlds.com (technical support). -- - Syntax - synny at swcity.net http://www.swcity.net http://forum.swcity.net AW Mapper ConcernsFeb 22, 2004, 3:06pm

All I can say to this: lol
> I don't like the looks of the lady avatar while it is flying. It looks > unladylike and when the Jenna avatar is used, you can see up the dress. Suck it up, they didn't put full detail on the Jenna Avatar so there is nothing to complain about. I'm sure you all played with your Barbie dolls when you were little and didn't complain that you could see her crotch when you put new clothes on her. :P > I'm not picking on whoever did this, but it would have been nice if we could > have had different views of flying and been able to vote on what we liked. Last I checked the AW 3.5 beta browser supports all *sorts* of different 3d view angles! > I'm reminded of the brick walk texture replaced years ago, a lot of people > didn't like that either. Sort of hurt the feelings of some in the company > that we didn't like it and were always complaining when changes occurred > (instead of praising). But it hurt the citizens as well because we are > artists, and artists like for their work to look a certain way. When you > change a texture, you are basically taking away their work. I remember this as well but the old brick texture was so pixellated and crappy looking. They replaced them with new high-res textures for the high-res CD, I think. Upon further examination of the "controvertial" flying Jenna, I realized
that there is absolutely nothing to take offence to. This is because when you look up Jenna' skirt, there is...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! It seem's Jenna's legs are powered by ghostly forces since they are not even attached to any body-type structure. Not only can I see up Jenna's skirt, I can see damn near see what's sitting in her stomach from this morning's breakfast. :P -- - Syntax - synny at swcity.net http://www.swcity.net http://forum.swcity.net [View Quote] > > Suck it up, they didn't put full detail on the Jenna Avatar so there is > nothing to complain about.
