VB Error

Aug 23, 2001, 11:41pm
If I remember correctly, which I probably don't, I believe it means
there is more than one of "sdk_EventAvatarAdd" in your code, which you can't
have.

VB Bone Sdk, anyone?

Thats the SDK for Bone, the Bot Betwork chat program thingy that Ima
Genius made.

Wishlist Bot Commands

Feb 26, 2002, 8:49pm
Well, you could use the AW_EVENT_OBJECT_SELECT, I don't think object
selection has to be turned on for it to work, to switch objects. Right click
an object and the bot would change the persons weapon, plus whisper the
weapon they changed to. The only thing is you would have to have objects
scattered around, or just walk objects covering your world.

he-alllppppppp! (help) please :)

Mar 5, 2002, 7:15pm
All you have to do is just set the instance. I am not sure of the VB
command, but in C++ it is: aw_instance_set(void &instance); thats all you
need. You only need one(1) timer, and one(1) control. Just change the
instances. Oh and a hint: when a bot "hears" an event, ie: someone entering
a world, the current instance of the application is set to the bot that
"heard" the event. :)
Hope this helps. :)

[VB] Searching for objects.

Mar 29, 2002, 11:47pm
I know in C++ it is done in the handle_cell_object, function, which for
VB that function is: Private Sub sdk_EventCellObject(). Now, with C++ you do
if(!strcmp(aw_string(AW_OBJECT_DESCRIPTION)) to check the description, and I
haven't used VB in a long time, but it might be something like: if
sdk.AwObjectDescription = "this object" then . . . but I dunno. Try fooling
around with stuff like that. Try stuff in the Private Sub
sdk_EventCellObject() function like sdk.AwObjectModel,
sdk.AwObjectDescription, and sdk.AwObjectAction, if you haven't already, and
tell me if anything happens.

Slot Bot (hehe, I like the name)

Apr 7, 2001, 3:00am
[View Quote] Actually, to tell you the truth, a "SlotBot" has already been made, altough
I think it is long gone by now. Abbot Pabisoko made one and diaplayed it in
the long forgotten AW Bot Fair, but that went no where. It is actually an
interesting idea, and it would be neat to see something like this in a world
where people could play it.

Wouldn't it be cool if...

Apr 20, 2001, 8:09pm
What do you mean "I made a post that fit the criteria?" Your post has
nothing to do with bots, but a feature that would have to be implemented
into AW, which most likely will not be added, and not a feature implemented
into the SDK. This is the bots newsgroup not the community newsgroup. The
initial post was about bots. Maybe you should post in Wishlist, that would
be a more reasonable thing to do.

Ummm . . . right. The backdrops of worlds such as AW and AWTeen were
put there by a citizen. If you want to change a backdrop buy your own damned
world. And don't give me that crap about "$80 to flick a switch" and blah
blah blah. You don't have any valid points to your argument. This feature
most likely will not be added, just drop it.

Actually, I like making objects in Notepad better than with some program

and I am not sure that they will, probably not. You can always ask Rough

banning/ejections

Whhooppss sent that by mistake . . . . anyways . . . like I was saying:

It is not pointless to ban people using IP numbers.
Say you have someone that is being very disruptive, so you ban them
using their citizen number. They can then get into your world using someone
else's privilege password. Now, you can't ban the citizen number (well you
can, but it would be sort of mean) that the disruptive person is using the
privileges from, therefore; that would be a time to ban using an IP.

There are times to use it and times not to. I believe and probably a lot
other do too, that IP banning and Citizen Number Banning should be an option
that the ejector will choose, instead of just having it ban using an IP
number or using a Citizen Number.

Lanezeri's "I'll keep watching the Newsgroups" scheme, aye? I sort of did
suspect it anyways. But oh well, maybe he's learned from his mistakes and
will be better this time . . . hopefully. We don't need more twits running

Geeze . . . You don't like the way AWC runs THEIR business, tough, suck it
up and deal. Before buying anything online you should research it, know what
you are doing, and what you are getting. If you researched the products, you
wouldn't of had this problem. You are not understanding the premise, read
up.
Also, don't bother responding to me with that either, because I do

Value of a cit

Sep 5, 2001, 9:18pm
Alright, lets get some stuff straight here . . .

1. You bought two(2) citizenships equaling approx. $40.
2. The smallest world costs, including the ONE(1) TIME registration fee
of approx. $70, costs approx. $80.
3. You only need one(1) citizenship, so the fact that you bought that
extra citizenship was your fault, and your waste of money.
4. Worlds come with FREE GIFTS. These free gifts just happen to be
citizenships. If they were shirts that were worth $20, would you be
complaining that AW has scammed you into getting an extra $20 from you? No.
5. When you renew a world, the citizenship that goes along with a world
gets renewed too, and that citizenship can be your normal citizenship.
6. After the first year of paying $100, the world cost, including the
registration fee, and the citizenship you bought, this of course doesn't
include the extra citizenship you bought, the renewal charge for the world
would be $10.
7. Since a citizenship can be credited towards the world, instead of
paying $20 for just a citizenship a year, you pay $10 a year for a
citizenship, $10 savings, and better yet, you get a world you can screw
around with.

Looking at that, and if you can understand it, which I am not sure you
can, you would see that if you only bought one(1) citizenship, worth approx.
$20, after two years of owning the smallest world, if your citizenship is
credited towards your worlds FREE GIFT, you would save $20, which is the
price of one(1) citizenship. So after TWO(2) years, instead of paying $40,
for a citizenship, you would be paying $20 for a world and a citizenship,
that seems like an awesome deal to me. I don't understand why you can't
comprehend that. You aren't being scammed in any way. If you looked at the
activeworlds website, there is a link on the main page that is clearly
marked "Products" then you would have found out that if you bought a world,
it came with a FREE GIFT, that just happends to be a citizenship. Before you
buy anything online, you should know what you are getting, know how much it
costs and find out if there are better deals out there. Its your own fault
that you did what you did, not Activeworld's. I hope you can understand this
and drop your argument, because your argument just isn't feasible.

Sincerely,
Jey (302100)

It seems you children get this whole "freedom of speech" thing screwed
up . . . a lot. You do not have absolute "freedom of speech." You have the
right to speak out against the government, that does not mean that you can
say whatever you want to whoever you want. Saying offensive things to people
is not included in this "freedom of speech."

Adressed to all the caretakers !

Jan 15, 2002, 10:26am
There is a reason for entering the CC info before getting the trial, its
so that the same person can't get multiple trial accounts. If you think
about it, there really isn't any other way. You can't use e-mail because
there are tons of free e-mail providers out there and then if you say "Well,
then they just wont accept free e-mail providers as a valid e-mail." That
wont work either, because some ISPs, like my new one, even though I still
use the crappy AOL one, don't offer e-mail, so you have to get one from
hotmail or whichever your prefer. What else would you use now? There isn't
really anything else you can use to make sure that one person can't get as
many trial accounts as they want.
The whole point of the trial is to give people a taste of AW, and leave
you wanting more. If AW doesn't have something to actually verify that
someone has already gotten a trial account, it would completly go against
what the trial accounts are set up for. Entering CC info makes it possible
for most people to only get one(1) trial and not get however many you want
be entering e-mail.
Instead of thinking up of ideas for protests, how bout we all try and
think of ideas for other verification methods so people can't cheat the
trial account. Sound good? Maybe, maybe not. You decide.

Spy bot

Feb 22, 2002, 10:33pm
This is quite rediculous. They do not have to keep on giving you
citizenships because you say they should. Just because you want something
doesn't mean you should get it. Here is a little analogy, because everyone
seems to like them. If you got a cell phone, and signed up for service with
Bob's Long Distance, and you got 100 minutes free as a sign on bonus, that
doesn't mean every time you pay your bill you are going to get those 100
minutes free. Thats the same with AW, the citizenships are a gift, a sort of
"sign on bonus." Companies aren't required to give free gifts, and if they
do, they don't have to keep on giving them to people. The whole purpose of
the free citizenships were for you to give to friends so they could check
out Active Worlds, and maybe even get their own world and such. If AWC
doesn't feel like giving out free citizenships anymore, they don't have to,
and they aren't required by the law to do so.
As with this whole spider thing . . . you people are arguing about
nothing. AW has any, and all right, to go into any world in the universe.
They do not have to ask permission, since basically all worlds are theirs.
You just pay a monthly fee to have land to build on, which you can
customize. Now if you get a galaxy or a universe, it is a one time fee,
meaning, AWC can't do anything to your galaxy or universe once you buy it.
The worlds, you rent, so they can do whatever they please.

Just my opinion, take it or leave it,
