How do you wanna enforce tourists to be unable to change their names?
Cits should always be able to change their name as long as they stay on the
same cit.

My suggestion was made to disable the ability to change name, within the
program... and to disable the ability for a cit to change to tourist mode. Thus
preventing those few obnoxious users from hiding while they perform
malicious deeds. I also find it hard to 'know' a user by their cit# since
I mostly see their names and when they misbehave, they are usually the type
that are bright enough to leave before the Cit# can be checked... :))

Linn, you know that is bullshit LOL.
They did not get an award just because their worlds had some material that
could be classified pornograpic by some muslims, republicans, texans or other
persons with a limited capability of viewing things, but because they have a
working community, nicely built worlds and well done objects. Visit one of
those places, take a look at them buildwise and objectwise, dont judge them
because you do not understand their way of thinking.

Hi king bluemax,
Version 3.4 will allow world owners to turn "tourist building" on and off as
a world option. We hope this helps :)

You cannot set your world to allow everyone EXCEPT tourists to build, can you?
for instance, you cannot set your world to allow everyone to enter & Build.....and let tourists enter, but NOT build.
I hope this fix is in the form of an "exlude list" and not just a mod to handle tourists.

Hi linn, I agree that there are probably less people signing up now then
there were before, but i will say that in the last few months In my world
where i spend most of my time these days that ive seen a lot of cits in the
350--- and higher range, which means to me that there are still people
signing up, not as many mabee, but the economy is getting worse and less
people are spending recreationally. I am in finance, and dabble a bit with
computers as well, and from what ive seen in sec filings, and general info
on AW in the press releases and other news sorces these guys almost lost it
all, Im sure that their personal finances are a big concern to them, but
from what ive seen they go out of their way to try to be as generous as
financially possible. There were a while back some big issues with mergers
and then the stock fell of the nasdaq. I think they did what they had too to
save something they loved doing, not to get richer. I dont know them
personally nor have I seen their books, but I know enough about money to say
that if that were what they were worried about there wouldnt be an aw
anymore, they would have taken their cut and been on their way, I know I
would have LOL. These guys are exceptionally brilliant, not just playing
with software, but in business, and while id rather not pay more than i do,
If the price went up, id be confident that It was neccessary to keep the
lights on. I welcome tourists to my world, and from what Ive seen crusing
around the universe, there is plenty for them to try before they buy. I pay
for it, and so should they, unless its not their bag. As a child my
grandfather always taught me, theres no such thing as a free lunch, good
thing too, or a lot of my clients would have gotton around my 200 dollar an
hour consulting fees over a 20 dollar lunch date. Once again, just my
thoughts, Take Care. KBM

Not all the time.
Moral bashing doesn't result in lifting the self esteem of people. Though,
we may learn more about the truth of ourselves when we make a mistake and
especially if we are confronted. It makes you humble, a bit more wise, and
instead of thinking highly of the self, it shifts trust from yourself to the
guy upstairs. That might make your outward appearance and demeanor look
like you have self esteem and courage to others, but what is really
happening is you are persevering through completely relying on, trusting and
following God.

I bet even if there were a way to make their name static then just like
shareware they would uninstall the software and reinstall it and somehow get
around it. Or it would waste resources at aw chasing down issues with
non-paying customers. I wouldnt waste much time on tourist mode myself, like
i said before Its really to try before you buy, and i suppose my point was
mostly that they should get a bite of the apple not eat the whole apple and
decide they didnt like it. Seems to me that thats more likly to entice
someone to get a cit. I myself use bots, one in global mode which will log
the cit numbers and IP adresses of all those entering my world, and others
placed in areas to see who went where, this vitually eliminates probs with
cits, plus if they do vandalize its clear who it is if they are in a citizen
when they do it. Also by watching times and such in the logs you can
sometimes see a pattern and make reasonable asumptions as to who suddenly
disappeared and reappeared as a tourist. In addition, the time on the
offending object can also narrow it down by seeing who was where in the
world when, while its not 100% it can be fairly accurate. Except for some
really offensive signs I dont really give much thought to all of it, I like
to enjoy my AW time. With the exception of the big public worlds it is the
decision of the worldowner whether to allow them and to pay the extra cash,
and in the public worlds, not allowing them i think is an incentive to get a
citizen. Which i think benifits all of us when more people are paying their
share. As far as changing names, Ive always felt that keeping your name the
same helps to establish your cit in the community and changing it often
leads to confusion, but i do agree it should always be allowed without
bothering AW to do it. Take Care All, Got To go shovel some more damn snow

Tie the cit name to the cit#... reinstalling to get around it as a cit, would require
the purchase of another cit... and yes tourist could reinstall but that would put
more work on them if they wanted to cause malicious mischief.
The main reason for my post was to point out a possible way for AWI to let
tourists into the main worlds to look around without having the GZs put up
with the troublemakers. I am sure AWI are interested in hearing our suggestions
so they have more ideas that might help them solve problems that users
complain about... I like to see suggested solutions presented along with a
complaint, even if the solution might not work out well... :)) It is easy to
post that we like or don't like something, it takes more thought to look for
a possible solution.... MIKsam
