well he came in seemingly with no intent except to
spam i mean he even said he wasnt gonna reply which i take it as "im advertising and leaving so dont bother" and html posts take a long time to load its not something id bitch about just would ask the person to stop [View Quote] Sorry everyone...Sep 1, 2001, 9:35pm
cross posting is when someone posts the same thing
in different ngs... basically making people read the same thing over an dover in each ng and making it look unread when it is actually not... i dont complain but it does bug the heck out of me [View Quote] Sorry everyone...Sep 3, 2001, 3:40am

walk/run... or perhaps have a new option in the avatar DAT file where you set the walk/run speed for each avatar that way you can make it more realistic. for example a plane would go fater that a person avatar i know im complaining but so what now you know so if you dont like itSep 2, 2001, 3:41am

Build # missing on the browser download pageSep 3, 2001, 6:22pm
well yeah but the build number is also on universe
attributes too so you can look there. im just saying, your idea is good too :o) [View Quote] Build # missing on the browser download pageSep 3, 2001, 9:15pm
what are you talking about ALL universes have that
there it has been there for who knows how long. other than that it may be a good idea but you can still look throguh the universe options [View Quote] Build # missing on the browser download pageSep 3, 2001, 11:21pm
ok in every universe is a settings option. whoever
runs the universe sets that to the highest browser the server will work with. for example there are many 2.2 universes out there so they set their universe>>>options>>>latest browser attribute this then tells you the latest browser that will work with that universe whatever is in the latest browser in the aw universe is what youll be downloading and they dont take time to update: when they change it anyone who is in/logging in the universe with a lower browser will get an upgrade message when you upgrading you are downloading right OFF OF their site there is nothing worng with saying what build number youre downloading on the site but i doubt aw will do it cause its usless and if you want to know what build you HAVE (not just what is the latest that works for the uniserver youre logged into) help>about this tells you your citizen number in the box but the build number is the second line of text on that window [View Quote] a listSep 3, 2001, 6:41pm
i want aw to put all these on the aw browser if
they don't im gonna kidnap all their programmers and put em in a rats cage LOL im joking so don't take that as threat ---------------- i think aw should make a separate sdk so that we can make plug ins i know bots were meant to run as separate programs so that's why im asking for a separate sdk or some attribute on the sdk that would allow you to make it either a bot or a plugin if you're wondering why this would be useful then look at awear it skips chat A LOT and has to be run as a separate program what would happen if it had its own sdk and it runs every time you run aw? it wouldn't skip and would always be there you can make plug ins that beep at you when you have a telegram (or better yet send a reply saying you're afk) one could also reply to whispers saying you're AFK. ---------------- aw should have something like MSword where you can decide what's on the toolbar. like you can decide whether a teleport home button would be on the toolbar aw could also decide to be able to "drag" teleports and put them on the toolbar (kinda like dragging web urls from netscape onto the windows task bar toolbar) ---------------- this has been asked time and again but we NEED status modes like icq! (afk dnd away off-line invisible) there could be icons that replace the checkmark when they are off-line ---------------- when you reply to a tgram INCLUDE what was said before by that person. sometimes i and others have no idea what i/they are being/replying TO ---------------- a "bounce" button so you don't have to find a private world (could call it a refresh button) if aw doesn't know how to do it then make a world called bounce and make it private. then just have the button teleport them there. easy huh? ---------------- fonts (see my earlier post) ---------------- when building being able to change ALL citizen numbers/descriptions/actions/models etc. maybe even be able to change the build timestamp manually i know that may be hard but hey it can be done have a "change" button next to build timestamp just like you do for world ejections :P ---------------- this is probably never gonna even be able to be done but a way to change property from an old cit to a new one (if you know the pass AND priv pass of the old citizen) ---------------- speed (see earlier post) ---------------- i think that sums up my early christmas list world peaceSep 17, 2001, 10:53pm
THE MIAMI HERALD
Published Wednesday, September 12, 2001by Leonard Pitts, Jr. We'll go forward from this moment. It's my job to have something to say. They pay me to provide words that help make sense of that which troubles the American soul. But in this moment of airless shock when hot tears sting disbelieving eyes, the only thing I can find to say, the only words that seem to fit, must be addressed to the unknown author of this suffering. You monster. You beast. You unspeakable bastard. What lesson did you hope to teach us by your coward's attack on our World Trade Center, our Pentagon, us? What was it you hoped we would learn? Whatever it was, please know that you failed. Did you want us to respect your cause? You just damned your cause. Did you want to make us fear? You just steeled our resolve Did you want to tear us apart? You just brought us together. Let me tell you about my people. We are a vast and quarrelsome family, a family rent by racial, social, political and class division, but a family nonetheless. We're frivolous, yes, capable of expending tremendous emotional energy on pop cultural minutiae -- a singer's revealing dress, a ball team's misfortune, a cartoon mouse. We're wealthy, too, spoiled by the ready availability of trinkets and material goods, and maybe because of that, we walk through life with a certain sense of blithe entitlement. We are fundamentally decent, though -- peace-loving and compassionate. We struggle to know the right thing and to do it. And we are, the overwhelming majority of us, people of faith, believers in a just and loving God. Some people -- you, perhaps -- think that any or all of this makes us weak. You're mistaken. We are not weak. Indeed, we are strong in ways that cannot be measured by arsenals. IN PAIN Yes, we're in pain now. We are in mourning and we are in shock. We're still grappling with the unreality of the awful thing you did, still working to make ourselves understand that this isn't a special effect from some Hollywood blockbuster, isn't the plot development from a Tom Clancy novel. Both in terms of the awful scope of their ambition and the probable final death toll, your attacks are likely to go down as the worst acts of terrorism in the history of the United States and, probably, the history of the world. You've bloodied us as we have never been bloodied before. But there's a gulf of difference between making us bloody and making us fall. This is the lesson Japan was taught to its bitter sorrow the last time anyone hit us this hard, the last time anyone brought us such abrupt and monumental pain. When roused, we are righteous in our outrage, terrible in our force. When provoked by this level of barbarism, we will bear any suffering, pay any cost, go to any length, in the pursuit of justice. I tell you this without fear of contradiction. I know my people, as you, I think, do not. What I know reassures me. It also causes me to tremble with dread of the future. In the days to come, there will be recrimination and accusation, fingers pointing to determine whose failure allowed this to happen and what can be done to prevent it from happening again. There will be heightened security, misguided talk of revoking basic freedoms. We'll go forward from this moment sobered, chastened, sad. But determined, too. Unimaginably determined. THE STEEL IN US You see, the steel in us is not always readily apparent. That aspect of our character is seldom understood by people who don't know us well. On this day, the family's bickering is put on hold. As Americans we will weep, as Americans we will mourn, and as Americans, we will rise in defense of all that we cherish. So I ask again: What was it you hoped to teach us? It occurs to me that maybe you just wanted us to know the depths of your hatred. If that's the case, consider the message received. And take this message in exchange: You don't know my people. You don't know what we're capable of. You don't know what you just started. But you're about to learn. onto WISHLIST until now?? Found that to be kinda strange) is mass DELETION capabilities. It's funny though how we can just simply hit CTRL+INSERT and not only duplicate but also place an object in sequential place, but yet you can't DELETE objects in the same manner. Is it just me not hitting the right keys (like SHIFT+DELETE) or is this just yet another MUCH NEEDED improvement left out of 3.3??? ummm... u can just use ctrl+right click to select all the objects in a cell and press the delete key... wow theyre gone! we need a DND feature too (Do Not Disturb). that way you dont have to go afk
or put up a ?-which just makes you get flooded with tgrams anyway [View Quote] teelegram window no focusJun 7, 2002, 7:37pm
when i click reply or send telegram.. the telegram window does not get the
focus and i end up typing in the chat window. i find the extremly annoying and i keep blurting things out in public i would rather not have. when i sent an email to aw this is the response i got: (from Will Geraghty) Telegram window: This nows does not stop you from using the rest of the AW browser, you may just have to click on it. obviously they arent gonna bother even attempting to fix this... i would appreciate it if more people would complain about this. i know im not the only one having problems cause people have said stuff to me that werent meant for me (and sometimes i would have rather NOT heard it) teelegram window no focusJun 7, 2002, 10:42pm
that would help if you havent ALREADY pressed enter because youre so used to
it having the focus! and that takes as long as typing it over again! [View Quote] teelegram window no focusJun 7, 2002, 10:43pm
yeah but its annoying that it goes to the chat window by default... i did
find it annyoing to ahve to close the tgram box-but when you click "send telegram" thats what the main thing your are doing... not typing in chat [View Quote] teelegram window no focusJun 8, 2002, 9:50pm
read the other posts. it does get the focus, however other parts of aw can
