i want aw to put all these on the aw browser if
they don't im gonna kidnap all their programmers
and put em in a rats cage LOL

im joking so don't take that as threat

----------------

i think aw should make a separate sdk so that we
can make plug ins
i know bots were meant to run as separate programs
so that's why im asking for a separate sdk or some
attribute on the sdk that would allow you to make
it either a bot or a plugin

if you're wondering why this would be useful then
look at awear
it skips chat A LOT and has to be run as a
separate program
what would happen if it had its own sdk and it
runs every time you run aw? it wouldn't skip and
would always be there

you can make plug ins that beep at you when you
have a telegram (or better yet send a reply saying
you're afk) one could also reply to whispers
saying you're AFK.

----------------

aw should have something like MSword where you can
decide what's on the toolbar. like you can decide
whether a teleport home button would be on the
toolbar aw could also decide to be able to "drag"
teleports and put them on the toolbar (kinda like
dragging web urls from netscape onto the windows
task bar toolbar)

----------------

this has been asked time and again but we NEED
status modes like icq! (afk dnd away off-line
invisible) there could be icons that replace the
checkmark when they are off-line

----------------

when you reply to a tgram INCLUDE what was said
before by that person. sometimes i and others have
no idea what i/they are being/replying TO

----------------

a "bounce" button so you don't have to find a
private world (could call it a refresh button) if
aw doesn't know how to do it then make a world
called bounce and make it private. then just have
the button teleport them there. easy huh?

----------------

fonts
(see my earlier post)

----------------

when building being able to change ALL citizen
numbers/descriptions/actions/models etc.
maybe even be able to change the build timestamp
manually i know that may be hard but hey it can be
done have a "change" button next to build
timestamp just like you do for world ejections :P

----------------

this is probably never gonna even be able to be
done but a way to change property from an old cit
to a new one (if you know the pass AND priv pass
of the old citizen)

----------------

speed
(see earlier post)

----------------

i think that sums up my early christmas list

It's NOT a plugin, however. AWC is yet again showing just how out of touch it truly is with the computer industry. Plugins are for web browsers that load INSIDE THE BROWSER AND DO NOT LOAD AN EXTERNAL PROGRAM LIKE AW. All the AW "plugin" is is the same old teleport script that's been used for YEARS to automatically open AW to a specific spot. <shrug>

they're not talking about the stupid word use on the new website... they're
talking about what you've whined about for as long as I have been in these
NGs (not all that long, but quite a while...), integrating bots, etc into
the browser itself instead of having them run as standalone applications...
I agree that the word use on the new website is very stupid, and that it
will lower technology awareness in AW.

PS. this thread was posted before the new website anyway...

Thanks kah, and eep cool down would you? :)

I have a long list over functions, procedures and
properties for a possible AW SDK (not Bots!).
But as i've heard from Roland and co. is that
they dont have time for this and that (or simular
expresed). :)

Hehe :)

Ok if anyone does'nt know what a plugin is
then I will explain it :)

------------------------------------------------

Most method used:
Plugin can be a kind of dll (library) wich
the _main_ program calls (like AW Browser <-- program
that you chat in called ActiveWorlds, with a chat and 3d view...
for thoes who need it in with spoons :)

What the main program does is to seek in a folder, ex: /plugins
It looks for .dll files, or definison files, or whatever.
Then it calls like a wake-up or a create method.
The plugin now know that its been called and will
respon to the program (if nessesary).

The plugin can send and retrive information to its
main program or main program can in the same way
like the plugin, the "idiot" example;

Main > Plugin "Hey wake up"
Plugin > Main "Ok, Im alive!"

Main > Plugin "Ok I've started up, ready for calls"
Plugin > Main "How many are online in current world?"
Main > Plugin "120 people at this moment"

Main > Plugin "Whats your status?"
Plugin > Main "I'm waiting for changes"

example end.
Ok, thoese who did'nt understand this example, well
hehe... anyway there are many ways to make a plugin or
how you define a plugin. A plugin can be a; exporter, importer,
tool, addon... etc...

Plugin is simply a program / dll, that can work with a
program via API, the main program has to export its
functions, procedures or properties, in that way the plugin
can call up the exported func.... etc...

------------------------------------------------

Ok, thoese who didnt get a bit clue out of this, yust gota
live with it :)

talk about a dim wit as an OCX....the AWC control IS a plug-in for the
IE browser. even though it contains most the code for the AW browser, it's
still a browser "plug-in" :) Eep, i do not think you have the computer
skills nor experience to call ME computer illiterate..... take a chill
pill sport.

oh and where in our wonderful english dictionary is the word "fuckshits"
LOL you freak'in bonehead....LOL get a clue. I Love it when you swear
like that..... LOL it shows we are hitting the right buttons on your
forehead...;)

not.

how can you be such a "putz" if I may say so? you know you allways rant
about this feature... lets take the text I'm reffering to, item 6 in the
General section of The Really Holy List (actually, your improvement
list...):

"plug-in support: So third-party programmers can add things to AW that
AWCI's 2 programmers can't. The SDK (software developers kit) is a beginning
to this process, but only really applies to bots which aren't integrated
into AW itself like they should be."

this is what was meant as the wish off this thread, not talking about "Lauch
the ActiveWorlds plugin now" crap on the new AWC website... anyway, you were
a putz not to see that the original thread/replies were posted way before
the new website was released...

Um, kah, YOU are the putz who started talking about webpage plugins and crap. I'm responding to THAT (and also to the "3D homepage" crap). Get over it.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what *IS*
wrong with you lately??? WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT WEBPAGE PLUGINS!!! (at
first I thought they meant an SDK or something, but they didn't, so now it's
you that's talking about web plugins) we're talking about plugins you could
use with the **AW** browser, similar to bots, just integrated into the
browser, like you allways go on about! what part of that is it that you
don't understand?

I understand your line length is too short so the more you previous posts you quote the more chopped up they become. I understand you're a twit. I understand you're now filtered. Buh-bye.
