Answering Telegrams About Commands, Processor Size, etc

Sep 12, 2002, 7:11pm
If you want to use current software, you need at least a *recent* computer. AOL and Earthlink are not 3D applications and do not apply. Neither are any of the others you listed, I'm sure.

It is not "inequality" to support only certain configurations. If *every* possible processor/memory/harddrive space combination had to be supported, there would never be any advancement in software.

In short, either upgrade your computer or stop whining.

Cy Opening 7vrt Sept14 scrollback

Sep 15, 2002, 10:17pm
If there's a problem with how the Cy Awards are being run, take it up with the people in charge. What do you expect this post to do *except* cause argument over what happened? I didn't read very much because it seems like a matter left between the Cy Nominee and the people running the Cy Awards.

Next time you want to post a chat log this long for other people to read, *PLEAE* post it to an Internet site and provide a link. Not many people are going to bother reading 24kb of text, so they shouldn't have to download it.

[View Quote] Pardon my language, but that is pure bullshit. One person sending email to a company to express an opinion is not spam. Spam is unsolicited *COMMERCIAL* email.

> I know southwest bell will have no tolerance for such action and would cancel your account.

Well since it has nothing to do with them and you wouldn't be sending any actual spam, he's just blowing smoke...

Well they're obviously built to be easily used. It's not that hard to do once you understand the concept and know what you're putting in what place.

You're not "informing" anyone of anything. We read your first post - anything after that is just spam.

Come on now... that's just blatantly false. If something is free to participate in, there's no risk whatsoever to the participant. How is that gambling?

NEW AlphaWorld - Could It Be???

NewAW has much more than just new objects. It uses a custom world server to do quite a bit of the work for the world's features.

Close the newsgroups

Nov 6, 2002, 7:01pm
Closing the newsgroups (even temporarily) would accomplish nothing. If people want the threads to stop, they should stop posting to them, stop reading them, and stop caring what anyone says in them. They *will* go away if everyone just leaves it alone and "fights" their "battles" in private.

Many other worlds post about their events and promotions. The posts are only once in a while and if you're really offended or something you can filter him on your end.

If you don't like them, filter their posts and stay out of their world. If someone is offended, it's not like they're forced to read the posts.

Poor behavior of beta testers

I agree with that statement, but *many* of the recent posts to beta were made by people who overreacted to changes and forgot that this is not a final release.
