What I'm missing are the credits to the object creators in the download
sections.

The thumbs could be a little larger (they actually are, but displayed
reduced), the download links next to the thumbnail and some more

Off course THIS company is not serious about it (I visited their site
too, big grin ;), but think about the consequences that such a stupic
court decision can produce. I was just wondering about the fact that an
emoticon is protectable.
The whole thing shows how far in the past these lawyers live. Usually
common words and expressions are protected from beeing protected by
trademarks - and somehow an emoticon IS a common expression today.
I thought already, that lawyers were idiots when they allowed to protect
words like "Explorer" or "Linux" (both happened in germany) - but this
.... (I'll use the three dots as long as no one has trademarked them yet
....).

The new world server seems to duplicate sessions quite often so things

What I wanted to say with that is, that it is not a problem of the
software if the configuration is not OK. I don't think that Roland cares
about the message text, I think he just provides the static text box and
transports the given text into it.

And customizing the messages yourself can make sense :
- My IO doesn't have much to say in universes where I am a tourist, he
just spits out an empty line
- I reduced the texts on the tab control to have few more lines visible
in my contact list

True only if you upgrade by pressing the upgrade button. All my changes
survived an upgrade, I copied the required files from one installation
into the other one. This works fine as long as the file structures do
not change.
And even if they do - a simple backup of the files you want to modify
will help, restore them before you upgrade and no ZAP
