TELL ME PEOPLE!
Some of you may have seen active-worlds.co.uk my new website. I'm slowly
adding new news and downloads and competitions. But I don't seem to get a
lot of hits.
Tell me, what sorta things would attract you to my site? I have a good
layout, A large collection of downloadable objects and avatars (textures and
seqs coming soon) and an up-to-date news section.
I'm considering gettings a newsgroup set up for AW and the occasional off
topic posts. So long as there are no flames. But would really attract you
all to my site and become a regukar visiter?

Get rid of the popup. I hate popups.

Get some advertising going inworld. :) There's a bunch of banner exchanges
for activeworlds, for example, the one that AWCC has. You can advertise in
gz's if you're lucky. Little things like that does add up. Of course, this
newsgroup does make a good forum since everyone looks for something to
criticize here. :) That should get you a handful of unique hits, but to
retain the people, you have to have some form of original content (which I
think you do, I only glanced). The best way to keep track of frequent
visitors is through a mailing list. :) Trackers can say whatever, they're
quite unreliable. Just stick to it, and don't let an oppurtunity to plug go.
:) You'll get hits as time evolves. Rome wasn't built in a day. :))

Hmm...where to begin? First, get rid of the <meta name="generator"
content="Namo WebEditor v3.0"> tag on your pages. We don't need to see
what HTML editor you use. This also saves a very small amount of
bandwidth as well (people like Eep always hound on wasting bandwidth).
Second, get rid that blasted pop-up window. Also, there is an error with
it. You have: "Dont forget to the sign up for the Active-Worlds
Newsletter Now!!!" but it should read "Don't forget to sign up for the
Active Worlds Newsletter Now!!!" Third, on the Web Design page, there is
no "Contact" button to contact you like it says to do (there may indeed
be one, but at least I can't see one). Fourth, on the Resources page,
the link on the "Enter Now!" graphic works fine, but the text link above
it produces a 404 Not Found error. Fifth, add the City4All universe to
your Downloads section.

No; no more new newsgroups. We already have enough of those as it is.
Your messageboard at http://www.coolboard.com/ is just fine.
You'll eventually get hits sooner or later. You could design the best,
most enthralling site on the Web, but if no one knows about it, no one
will visit it. It happens to everyone, even the best webmasters out
there. Just keep at it. Good luck.

nonono, you know in Activeworlds, how you can buy worlds? Well, you can also
buy galaxies or even universes, which are a collection of worlds. :) It uses
the same Activeworlds technology, except it's in another universe/server
than AW. Vectorscape and Outerworlds are still the same as Activeworlds,
they are just in a separate universe. :) You have to download a different
browser to see that universe though, but the browser is EXACTLY like the AW
browser, just a different logo, I believe.

Yeah I'm on netscape 6 (nothing supports it, I better re-download MSIE
but still use netscape) and I've noticed that the active parts of the
navigation bar are offset and the text gets all screwed in the top and
bottom with the horizontal bar at the bottom of the page.
