15 litres? That seems a little on the excessive side...

Your computer uses power from a power station, and a power station uses
much more water. Turn off your computer and stop posting pointless crap
if you want to save water.

Agreed Gnu... but my power comes from a Hydro-Electric dam, which does
not produce any waste or consume any water, and the aqua life can pass
through a special cahnnel made for them. as well, I'm in teh Canadian
north.. theres LOTS of water up here, and not many people. You could fit
1.5 Times the population og the whole Yukon Territory in most sports
stadiums down south from me.

Sorry for promoting something that is worthwhile and helps those in poverty.
I suppose I could do something equally pointless as staying in a room for a
few days on Active Worlds - that sounds useful and a good use of time.

I was merely informing people of a site which is an easy way to generate
funding for those less fortunate.

PS. My energy might not neccessarily come from a powerstation.

Thanks, Callidus. As a desert dweller myself I appreciate it. With
population and industry growth, more and more watersheds around the
world are running dry. Here, the ground water has been depleted so much
that fissures open as the ground level sinks.

It says an average of "up to" 15 litres on http://www.aquaplastics.org ,
which would mean that the average is less than or equal to 15 litres.

The point is that many neglect to turn off the tap while they're
brushing. Turning off the tap is a very small sacrifice with a very
large dividend in water savings. Reusing dirty water for things like
irrigation is another big saver. Reusing paper helps too because paper
is a water-intensive industry.

That website isn't anti-industry. It's partly sponsored by the European
plastics industry. You can click every day.

Thanks!

now you're just being a jackass.
if you don't like charities, good for you, but instead of trying in impress
people by being the first to post a stupid remark, why don't you sit down,
and shut up?

Stadiums consume loads of water for showers for the jocks, no need for
jocks, waste them and we will save loads of water and complaining.

Impress? I'm making a point. Why complain about the water used to keep
us clean? All the water is there, just take it,instead of trying to
waste people's time with quizzes.

you obviously don't understand what the post was about then, maybe you
should visit the website and try to understand.
yes it may be there for you and me, but doesn't mean it's there for
everyone. have you never seen an oxfam commerical? have you never noticed
how people in other countries have no safe water? well they don't.
hell, i'm going to be honest, on a day to day basis, i couldn't give 2
shits. don't mean to sound cold, but these are people i've enver met. but if
someone else is going to try to help, i sure as hell am not going to
complain about it, and lash out at them. it's simple, if you aint going to
be positive, just go about your own business...

The Tv Ads,we all seen them, and they're enough to get our attention,
but to be asked to interrupt our lives to visit a website with some
stupid "Traffic4Money" scheme thats not actually generating money but
making webmasters happy that they think they're helping the lives of the
needy, now thats too much.
And if you can't be positive, why hide it? Explain why your not positive.

wow, your..aaa screw it, not going to insult...
but interupt you live? no one is forcing you to visit the site, no one made
you. you can if you want to, if you don't, then don't.
and why hide being negative? because you're making an ass of yourself, and
complaining about people helping other people, which just makes you out to
be a little self-centered.

and, traffic4money? did you even visit the site?

well, just remember, better to be quiet and look stupid, then talk and
remove all doubt. don't argue just for the sake of arguing...

I'm not complaining about the people who need the water, this is about
the website that i doubt very much is going to give money.

Perhaps its best to research on the charity organization running the website
before jumping to conclusions. Oh well, it's all in the past.

Utter Chaos and irrelivence here sometimes lol.. be nice if ppl tried to
stick to the original thread's point.. or discuss it with some kinda
maturity;-

Anyways! Great interesting link Callidus- every little helps as they say..
by posting that link you could have made the charity a few more bucks- Its
so easy to say why the hell does effect me and why should i care - but
there is a bigger world out there and thirdworld countires that really can
benifit from this sorta thing... So if I only have to click my mouse a few
times to contribute in a small way- well Im all for it... guess the reality
of the thirdworld is too difficult for some to contimplate or understand for
some... ohwell.. Good on you and that company Callidus :)
Cheers

The Heretik.

Gnu32, when is the last time you visited one of the sadly water deprived
areas of the world? Do you even know the meaning of conservation, suffering
or sacrifice? Or are those words too big for you? I have NEVER seen you
post anything in the NG's that warranted any value. Talk about waste! I have
yet to figure out if you are 16 or 61 , but you are either a kid who hasn't
grown a brain yet or a demented elder. In either case, you should have your
keyboard locked up when nobody is home to watch you!!!

Good on ya, Callidus and Jim1 and all others who are trying to get the
message out that these people need help!! Shy of a miracle things are
looking really bad for them.

Cheers, its such an easy way to at least give some support who are calling
out for help. Its perhaps the easiest thing I have seen a charity do, no
donations, no petitions, no attending events - just a simple click of the
mouse everytime you log online.

Thanks for the support and all those who clicked.

Ok, so Gnu32 may be ignorant of peoples' helping hands. Educate the lad then
! If he responds positive, cool! If not, sad to say, oh well. But he doesn't
deserve to have you publicly ram your harsh opinion of him down his throat.
Btw Ms Thinks She's Perfect, tell me when is the last time you visited a
sadly deprived area? ( ex-dlp doesn't count :D ) And as for his age?
What the frick difference does it make? So he's a kid, and you're a demented
elder. And boooy do I know suffering ! That'd be the day I met you. :P
We all 'clicked'... QRV & Casey and myself. Every little bit helps : )
