A world is something that has a lot of potential to be many things.
Alphaworld is the largest world. It has the potential to be many things for
a lot of many people. In fact, it is right now. However, the desire to be
in Alphaworld is slowly dieing out. It can't go for a year without object
updates, it can't go for a year without map updates and the like.
None of you guys at AWI seem to be up to the task, so how about setting up a
group of talented individuals, who have been using Active Worlds long enough
to know what they need to do, and how to do it. I believe a group of people
in charge of Updating the Objects, Textures, and Masks, taking care of the
world, keeping interest in its community, maybe even setting up events would
help it immensly.
It worked in AWTeen. It worked in AWRPG. Why can't it be passed along to
Alphaworld?
Nov 7, 2004, 1:24am
AWTeen is the second biggest world in Active Worlds, and while it is
miniscule in size compared to Alpha World, the effort to work with it and
make it a good world as a whole is a different story.
With that being said, I think its been too long since its last world
expansion. There are very few areas left that could be considered "prime
land" (being on intervals of 100s) and if you want to build something very
large and need it to have easy to remember coordinates, you'll be
hard-pressed to find a spot.
With all of the effort that is put into the world, is a size expansion too
much to ask for?
Nov 7, 2004, 2:18am
How about both? :D

Which would lead them into a false sence of expecting something very, very
good as soon as they enter Alpha World.
Which, of course, they won't find unless they go a good length out into the

How about an option to show world rewards then? They could be more
appropriate awards, ones that won't be cheated as much. For instance, the
Worlds to Watch could be sidenoted on there, or worlds that have recieved Cy

I know this idea has been suggested several times in the past, and I'll
probably go a bit in-depth with this, so bear with me:
I've seen and experienced referral programs successfully working in other
programs on the net, so why not here? By successfully inviting a tourist
into the universe (or them immigrating) a user could receive points towards
a prize list you could get from referrals.
Example #1: Earning Referral Points
---
1 Point: Your referral downloading the browser/immigrating as a tourist

If anyone wants to build on this, that may help for AWI to consider the idea
:D

I love this idea. Its so well thought out, and it tackles so many
problems at once...
-Solves the age-old problem of the people who don't want change in world
options vs. the ones who do
-Gives citybuilders a goal
-Lets citybuilders be that more creative
-Gives Public Building Worlds more appeal, and more important, gives an
in-depth sample of world ownership to prospective buyers (;D)
-Allows what would at one time require a long-winded system to be issued
directly by the involved parties (GET, for example.)
Don't glance by this one AWI, its a winner :D

Hey guys, how about taking a day to update the content on your public
building world websites? Some of em are really outdated, and in truth,
they could be real useful as hubs for that entire world if you were
interested in pursuing that.
Heck, there'd probably be some dependable out here in the community
who'd be more than happy to find content for ya. ;D

Damn GSK, thats not a bad idea at all!
My biggest concern with it is how the world would transition... would it
fade into the "world image" or would it just pop up after you reached a
certain altitude?
