Well we both know the discontent that's present between Gors and the rest of the
community. I understand both's reasoning for it too... but there's nothing any of us can do about it anymore besides have E N Z O delete our arguments. :P --Bowen-- NewsgroupsNov 6, 2002, 7:00pm
If I can suggest something. At the credit card submission page, have that be where
the Password is defined. As it will give parents more the opportunity to choose the level of access then if you do it later on where the kid might not tell his parents. It seems the only logical place for it and I hope this does help a little. I don't mind the gors, but I don't like the gorean ideas. No offense to them. I really don't want to get into detail as to what and why, but it's just my opinion. --Bowen-- [View Quote] NewsgroupsNov 7, 2002, 12:40am

I hardly think adult entertainment is put into the same category as normal
entertainment. That's why regular cable doesn't have porn channels readily available. There has to be some control on adult material. --Bowen-- NewsgroupsNov 8, 2002, 12:44am

Teens are not in question, adult worlds and themes are. Therefore, using common
sense, they should be the ones excluded. --Bowen-- NewsgroupsNov 8, 2002, 1:35am

Hardly. Teens are not the entirety of underaged people. If I'm not mistaken, there
are a great number of community members who also loathe the gor and other adult based themes/worlds. If we're going to use the Oscar example, like Rick said, X rated movies aren't allowed into them. Slaves in the true gorean sense (I don't care about the "we're not like that" routine) are considered part of the bondage theme, which is adult. Don't segregate things that don't violate ratings (to protect them). But do segregate things that could be offensive to almost everyone given their nature. --Bowen-- Re: Identifying what worlds allow TouristsNov 6, 2002, 7:28pm

You should've taught people how to use paragraphs a little better.

later. (maybe?) --Bowen-- This is Getting Ridiculous...Nov 8, 2002, 3:06pm

Definately. Only delete offensive things too, not posts that tend to be dry (or
hardass like Goob's). :P --Bowen-- This is Getting Ridiculous...Nov 8, 2002, 3:26pm

My advice to you is to not alter previous threads, but worry about new ones that come
out. Until a flame begins, don't worry about something that may be offensive, unless extreme. --Bowen-- This is Getting Ridiculous...Nov 8, 2002, 3:33pm

God existing after them. :P Apparently it's their belief that their Messiahs, Jesus
and Mohummad, were the incarnation of god through an earthly body. So if he was "born" he exists after you. I don't know it's hard to put into words in tune to Eric's little theory. --Bowen-- fw: New bot site open!Nov 13, 2002, 3:35pm
Hi all avid bot users and developers!
I'd like to announce the opening of a new AW bot site, targeting both the user and the developer, powered by a custom, dynamic content system: http://bots.omegauniverse.com/ There you'll find bot news, bot source code, and compiled bot programs in three categories: - C and C++ - Visual Basic - Misc./Pascal-Delphi By registering as a member (it's free, fast and completely SPAM free) you get access to even more features, like submitting your own bots. We'd appreciate it very much if bot developers submit their bots to the site! We're constantly working on adding new and cooler features, especially bot developers can expect some really neat improvements soon... So check Bowen & KAH's bot site out now: http://bots.omegauniverse.com/ KAH fw: New bot site open!Nov 13, 2002, 3:38pm
Adding in this little comment:
Those with Netscape 4.78 (the only one I tested it with) will notice a long period of loading time where the window will freeze. 4.75 does not seem to have any problems, but if you're using netscape, be prepared just in case. And no, it's not buggy webcode. Netscape has a problem with nested tables over the number of 5 it seems. --Bowen-- memory leak bug fix XelagotsNov 25, 2002, 5:17am

It's not really a patch system per se from what I can tell, it just replaces all the key files with the newer versions? Maybe my knowledge of what patches are is backwards. --Bowen-- new face cam in AW 3.4Nov 14, 2002, 9:16pm

I'm just happy they put keymapping in. That makes me ecstatic that I can now use my
laptop to move somewhat decently and build. (hopefully there'll be mappable build keys) --Bowen-- new face cam in AW 3.4Nov 15, 2002, 8:49pm
Alpha is before beta, so before they release the newer features for beta testers it
goes through the alpha stage. --Bowen-- NewAW Flyover!Nov 20, 2002, 7:23pm
Define a "good" newsreader. The ones bundled with mozilla and netscape support HTML.

I suppose HTML could comply with ASCII standards rather than binary standards. The
only thing that differs is the ability of the reader to interpret the code? --Bowen-- NewAW Flyover!Nov 21, 2002, 2:22am
So in fact you're agreeing that every element is part of plain text and really the
only thing that changes is that we'd need an HTML interpreter. --Bowen-- NewAW Flyover!Nov 21, 2002, 2:27pm

Yes I know, but all HTML is is plain text that is interpreted differently. All
you're saying is it's plain text and there's a lot more of it for the same information; which I agree. --Bowen-- |
